I can't begin to say enough positive things about Laura!…read more However, I will start with, she is an amazing, gifted healer! From the moment I met her, she presented herself with a welcoming, kind, compassionate and calming presence. She truly listens and hears what your issues and concerns are! I had been diagnosed with a sprained rotator cuff, which was not only painful and limiting, but draining me of my energy! Although I love my primary care doc, his solution was to put me on heavy duty anti-inflammatory meds, which can be hard on your liver and have side-effects as well! I am not a stranger to acupuncture and was able to get an appt near where I live... I was fortunate enough to be seen by Laura.:) I had recently lost my husband, which Laura took into account with compassion, as well as my injury. I hope I am stating this correctly, but she explained that grieving can also contribute to the injury healing and that you hold grief in the left side of your body... the sprain is in my left side. Laura started with a 'clearing'... which I can only explain as "getting rid of my junk" ... I felt revived when leaving that day! I continued to see her for several more appts. I'm happy to say that my shoulder has improved 100% from when I had my first treatment, as well as other issues I had been having! Now for some gentle strengthening exercises. ;) I will continue to see Laura for monthly overall maintenance. I know there is more 'JUNK' to work on! ;) THANK YOU LAURA ROSE, you were, and are, a Godsend to me at a very difficult time in my life... Angels are watching over me! :)

Stay far away from Glenda. If you have any preferences or requests…read moreshe will do the opposite. She hides behind what she is "feeling" which ends up being what she doesn't feel like doing. She will interrupt the services with her own thoughts; it's all about her. I seriously think she has a personality problem, since I made the mistake of going to her twice (once years ago, and then last week - oops.) When I asked her why she did not even touch the right side of my body, the side I spoke to her about before the session and what brought me in, she said she sensed that "I" wasn't ready. That's gaslighting. Apparently some passive aggressive action, too. She said "3 sessions kept coming into my mind" and wanted to string me along to keep coming back to finally actually get touched on that side of my body. I can't believe I paid for this kind of abuse. Emotional and frankly physical. Can't believe she thinks she can masquerade behind this flimsy excuse. Please, if you are feeling vulnerable and need body work do not go to this possessed person, because she will pounce on your vulnerability in a narcissistic fever. Stay away!

For example she gave me some novel tips on working out the knots myself and even recommended some great affordable yoga places when I mentioned my interest in that. She also told me about their therapist that specializes in really deep massage too. The massage itself was great too with good deep pressure and she hit some spots that most massage therapists in the past haven't gotten as well. I bought a five pack of massages (never expires and can share with your girlfriend/spouse and you save $10 per 60 minute massage over the normal $90) given the great experience. Had a massage from Cheryl (owner) a few months back too; very good massage but lighter pressure than Shannon was able to do and not quite as much awesome info but would still recommend her.

I gave them 4/5 stars because sometimes it can be kinda noisy. The walls are paper thin and you hear everything going on in the front. I went in as a walk-in, and asked if they accept walk-ins. The woman at the desk said it depended on the length of the massage. I asked for 30 minutes and she agreed. Led me back to the room, put the timer on and begin to work. She did not introduce herself or volunteer her credentials. She did not take a medical history, and never even asked my name. When she finished, I said thank you, got dressed, and met her at the front desk. when I handed her my credit card, she asked if I wanted to tip in cash, or put it on my card. I was floored. I told her I did not tip healthcare providers. She stated something like "you tip for massage." I said no. She looked so disappointed (seemed close to tears) that I changed my mind and told her to add 20%. Full disclosure: I have often tipped massage therapists in the past. But I had decided in advance to stop that practice. I don't tip my doctor or dentist, nor do I tip any of the paraprofessionals that work with them. I don't tip my chiropractor or his assistant. I don't tip acupuncture providers. Lest anyone think I'm a cheapskate, I am not. I never tip less than 20% in a restaurant, hair salon or nail salon. Since COVID hit, I have increased my tipping to 25-30 % for restaurant workers and food delivery people. That's it. I think it's incredibly rude to ask for tips.

For roughly $2,000 a year I can have access to her cell phone number and a long appointment. I have been a patient with Dr. Menon for almost 25 years. In the beginning, she was an amazing…read moredoctor who genuinely cared about my well being and did a lot of due diligence for me to get to the bottom of some of my issues. I've been a constant patient with at least 2 - 3 appointments a year. The last 6 years, i've noticed that I've seen her less and her nurse practitioner more and more. It got to the point where i had gone YEARS without seeing her. Fast forward to the past month. As i've done for the last 20 years, i made a request for my normal refills. This time, I'm denied because "I'm not a member" I'm down to a week's worth of meds and she denies me. I call her office and found out she had transitioned to concierge medicine and they claim to have given me notice, and they may have, in the form for automated voice mails which i remember getting, and pamphlets, none that explicitly says that i will lose immediate access if i don't sign up. What does signing up entail, 2K/year plus whatever services she charges insurance. So pretty much, I have to pay 2K/year to keep my doctor as well as paying for her services. Not to mention that i'm about out of meds that they refuse to do anything about without me signing up. No temporary refill so i can find a new doctor. Their advice, go to an urgent care center. This is after 20+ years. This left me scrambling to find a new doctor. I had an appointment with her 3 1/2 months before in December and she made no mention of this to me in person. No one at the office said anything except the normal "see you next time". Little did i know at the time, there would be no "next time" I was a little surprised to actually see her, and not her nurse practitioner and I was also a little surprised that I noticed interactions that were reminiscent of how she was before. I guess she was practicing for her new practice. My wife warned me of this. They treated her badly, and she left them for another doctor a year earlier. What happened here? Well, we made an emergency appointment because my wife had a spot in her eye and she was a little concerned. She came in 5 minutes late. They make her pay and then refuse to see her because she was late. We had to go to the ER instead, and discovered she had an ocular stroke. This could have been found out earlier had we been seen, but we were forced to find other services after paying because they claimed we were too late. Prior to this, service was lacking as they constantly said the same thing to her without addressing her concerns. She told them she was in pain, and they did nothing. It was her going to another doctor where she actually got a diagnosis of her pain in about 2 weeks, but in the years she's gone to Dr. Menon, no one bothered.

The second time (as I wanted to give her another chance) her fee was $110 but she hardly spent time on the acupuncture - she was too chatty and again the smell in her treatment room was too much to bear. Do not recommend her.

We identified I had a yin deficiency, which I have heard from other practitioners before. I was told I have inflammation from the "heat" from the yin deficiency. All made sense to me. There was no type of improvement that I could see. I was uncomfortable during the acupuncture and was barely relaxed. I've seen other practitioners and did not have this kind of experience. I really wanted to like this practice so it was disappointing. I wanted to commit to doing it for a year, but I just couldn't hold out because I was actively suffering through the acupuncture. (And I'm a fan of it!) What really got me was that Dr. Hou would see me every week and say the exact same things for 4 months. "Tongue getting better." Or "Toenails are still dark red (low oxygen) but getting better." This on repeat for 4 months. There was no visible or internal improvement on my end. I committed completely and took her suggestions. I tried to tell her my concerns, but she had no answers for me. Just that it will take a long time and that my "cells need to grow." If I had a dime for every time I was told my "cells need to grow," here I would be rich. I understand TCM and have no issue with waiting, but the constant "you're getting better" was suspicious. I had a bad feeling about it. I was basically told to wait a year to see improvement, but the repetition felt very "snake oil salesman" to me. Not to mention, the place seems like it hasn't been deep cleaned in a very long time. The tables are uncomfortable. The prices are decent, so if you want to give it a try and see if your issues resolve unlike mine, give it a shot! I saw a lot of great reviews so I really wanted to give it a solid try. But I need to get a second opinion after this experience. I was sketched out and had to trust my gut.

The procedure uses hair-thin needles placed at specific areas of the body and is painless and natural. Acupuncture is highly effective for many health issues. It can increase energy, improve sleep patterns, reduce symptoms of menopause, stress or illnesses and enhance mental clarity and addictive tendencies. Facial rejuvenation is a form of acupuncture that has been used since the Chinese Sung Dynasty (960-1279 A.D.) Needles are inserted at strategic points in the face and neck to induce the movement of blood and stimulate collagen production. The procedure can reduce fine lines and improve the overall skin tone in your face. Gua Sha is a healing technique used throughout Asia. "Gua" means to rub or cause friction. "Sha" describes congestion of blood at the surface of the body. Gua Sha increases normal circulation to the muscles, tissues and organs directly beneath the surface of the area being treated. Patients can relieve stiffness, pain and mobility and find Gua Sha helpful in resolving colds and stubborn coughs.
