I can bend over in a weird way, sleep funny, or lift something heavy and my back goes crazy. This is quite unpleasant for someone who doesn't often have back problems. A few months ago I tweaked my back and tried to manage it with over the counter meds, rest, and heat. A friend who suffers from back pain regularly told me that I needed to make an appointment with Dr. Bazley asap. She said "if you see her today, tomorrow you'll wake up like nothing ever happened". This sounded too good to be true but it was worth taking a chance. The pain was excruciating - I couldn't work out, I couldn't go into the office, and I could hardly drive. Dr. Bazley saw me that same day, assessed my situation, and gave me an adjustment that granted me with free range of motion. It was unbelievable! Dr. Liu and his office manager, Jeanette, truly care about their patients. That sounds like a no brainer, but in today's money hungry, slick and fast world, it is not easy to come by. I have come to Dr. Liu in severe pain at times, and it was clear that he really felt bad for me and wanted to help, which he did, consistently. At those times, I have never failed to get an appointment. Once, Dr. Liu even called me well after hours when I sent an SOS email. Who does that? Jeanette is on top of emails, often responding within minutes! It's crazy because I've gone to practices that ignore emails completely!! Another thing I love is that, unlike other chiropractors I've seen in the past, Dr. Liu is never pushy about coming back frequently. He suggests sometimes, but leaves it up to me. And believe me, my back always lets me know when it's time. Once I was stuck in Miami with severe back spasms. Urgent care gave me a steroid shot and pain meds and it didn't even touch the pain. Dr. Liu recognized the issue right away and fixed it with one adjustment!! Now I'm a believer. Great doctor, great people, great practice. It was Dr. Windman, from a good friend from a tbi site's recommendation, who started me on my real path of healing. I had learned from another informed doctor about 8 months prior to meeting her that my 3 years of progressively debilitating every day, all day migraines (16 months of pushing myself and all the while losing more and more abilities until eventually I could no longer push myself and then 14 months of profound, often bed-bound, in a dark room mind-melting pain and skill disability) were actually just symptoms of a deteriorating and destabilized neck that was compromising the nerves that fed my brain what it needed to function and grow. A neck that was injured very badly while caretaking a family member. So I was beginning to feel some sense of myself through my other doctor's correct assessment (the first real one after 7 wrongly diagnosing doctors) and starting to think more clearly. But, it was Dr. Windman and her husband's xrays that showed me my complete damage. And it was Dr. Windman and her ao procedure that had me get up from the table without migraine after having had the same migraine for 3 years 8 months. Within 2 weeks I was reading and memory was returning (I had almost no memory for the previous 2 years), within 3 my moods were stabilizing. My brain started thinking faster. My intelligence started improving. I was able to start driving short distances, my disorientation and dizziness drastically improved. I have been seeing her weekly ever since. I have had a few set backs but she is there every step of the way, showing me new things to help reverse all the damage of those horrific years. I still have brain injuries and my bones learned to pop out and lock up after all that trauma, but I am learning and improving weekly and without this wonderful woman I would still be stuck back in the half-life I had. I avoided a surgery that my other doctor was encouraging. There is no need for it now (it was a nerve-neck release surgery that would have been uncovered by insurance). Each day I am gaining new skills and finally my brain has what it needs to start repairing all that damage. I am working on postural therapies that Dr. Windman has suggested. She also is amazing with cranial sacral work and every week my brain frees itself again after locking up when I do activities that I could not do at all for those previous years. She patiently puts back the parts that have fallen out again and teaches me more to help me learn how to improve. I am getting stronger each month. It is a reversal of my first year of progressively bad health. It's amazing to feel. I may never reverse all the brain injury that occurred during those dark years, but my chances of gaining a new life have improved substantially because I went to this ao practice and this wonderful doctor.

Walking was harder, and every time I tried to straighten my posture my spine would audibly pop. I finally decided to seek help, so after come online studying I found Mirando Chiropractic in my neighborhood of northwest DC. I received treatment from Dr. Mirando himself, and he could immediately tell that something was off. A few x-rays later, his suspicions were confirmed--thanks to the accident, my entire spine, from the cervical down to the lumbar, had been shifted around, pinching an entire set of nerves in my side, and my pelvis was tilted so that one of my legs was shorter than the other! Pretty crazy. Ten minutes, eight adjustments, a series of loud snaps and a rush of endorphins later, Mirando's treatment transformed me into a new woman, a better woman, or at least of woman with a straighter back and less pain.
