Wow! Being an avid poke fan, the poke at this place was pretty great. The portion size was pretty big, definitely enough to last 2-3 meals. To be completely honest I enjoyed everything but the actual poke. I got a bowl and my favorite part was the coconut rice. It really added so much flavor to the dish. The fish was alright and the rest of the mixins were pretty average, but I would highly highly recommend the coconut rice to anyone. read more

Poke Geaux is a favorite for my husband and I as an inexpensive date night. Like we want sushi but don't want to drop a bunch of cash or get dressed up. This was my first check-in here, but I've been here many times. They are always friendly and fast and actually excited about the food, which I appreciate. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. I have only one issue. I always pay with my cc and almost never carry cash, but they don't have the kinds of receipts where you can write in the tip. Gotta get better at carrying cash or they gotta get a different receipt system. read more

What I noticed and loved upon walking in was how clean the interior was and how spacious the tables were. I was able to pull out my tablet and do a little work while waiting on my friend. I decided to build my own bowl and I had all of the toppings I wanted written down on a post-it because I'm awkward in restaurants like this. It starts with your "base" which is brown rice, sushi rice or salad (there may be others available). Then they serve up your toppings cafeteria style in a mixing bowl where everything is stirred together and laid on top of your base. I'm not into raw fish at all so I played it safe with brown rice, shrimp tempura and chicken. Along with my toppings and sauces, it was pretty delicious. I think it's a wee bit pricey though - maybe worth it if you're into fancy shmancy raw fish. Oh and shout out to "La", she's so sweet and a great server! read more

Okay, I don't know if the owners of this place know but you DO NOT use bowls to mix the ingredients into a big ball of mush and put it on top the rice. THAT IS NOT HOW YOU MAKE A POKÉ BOWL. Poké is essentially a sushi bowl. I have been to the east coast, west coast and neither do that bowl mixing technique. It's disgusting and not how you make traditional poke which is what 100% of the customers come for but about 50% don't even realize that it's being made improperly. The sauce is heavy handed at the very least which is equally gross and they can't even keep avocado fresh. It's literally black when you see it. No sign of lime juice anywhere to keep its integrity. I suggest this place close for about a month to learn how to make poke properly, OR, sell it to a Hawaiian owner who will take the process seriously because you can't tell me the current owners of both spots know what they are doing. read more

My third time going to Poke Geaux and still not disappointed. Sushi grade ingredients are consistently fresh, even at later hours. Making your own bowl is my favorite way to go. There are enough ingredients available to allow variety. Service is surprisingly fast and have I never had to wait. Walking in, placing order, paying and leaving has never taken more than 15 minutes. Most of that time is deciding what to put in my bowl. Ambience is practically nonexistent however I'm not going there for a fine dining experience. I use to love coming to Poke Geaux. I come atleast twice a month, but ever since they went up on the price on the crab salad and the seaweed salad i feel like im getting scammed. As a college student 12 dollars for a poke bowl was reasonable, but now its atleast 14 dollars. I dont understand the reason for the up charge on the seaweed salad. Wont be coming back. read more

Been wanting to come here forever now and it met my expectations. I love when I can see my food being made in front of my eyes. The food items looked fresh and appetizing. The server La was fast and friendly with her service. I got the hula twist salad bowl. I love the fusion of hawaiian/asian food. Although it was quite filling, I feel like this place is really pricey. Any extra toppings are an additional charge so I would not recommend going here on a regular unless you got the funds to splurge. read more

I've been a few times. Recently I had a bowl and idk if it just depends on who makes it but it was dry. And I got the siracha aioli sauce. There was way too much rice in my bowl which is probably why it made it so dry. The ratio was off. I've definitely had better. If I'm paying what you're charging I expect to have a satisfying meal. 4 stars for service and options. However the bowl we purchased from the specials menu definitely lacked flavor and was dry. I would add different sauces next time. It was the Poke GEAUX Classic. (first option on the menu all the way to the left when you walked in) Salmon. Again, fish was good and fresh, but the bowl was very dry, even with the sauce that came with the bowl. ZERO STARS... I ordered food using the Waitrapp. Some of it arrived. Many of the sauces, some of which I paid extra for, did not. I called the store. "Sorry. We'll call Waitr and get that right out to you." TWO AND ONE HALF HOURS LATER -- still nothing! After 1/2 hour online with Waitr's "customer service" I was told "we have no record of being contacted by the restaurant." Ya know what.... there are too many food delivery services out there... and too many restaurants... dying for the money to accept this type of "service". It's not about dropping the ball in the mud. It's about picking it up and going from there.... which these folks, and Waitr, didn't do. read more

Terrible. Got the Geaux Fit Chicken bowl. The girl working had to ask me what goes in that when it says it on the menu on the wall. Girl working also had headphones in, made me repeat myself 5 times, and acted like I was the incompetent one. The bowl was also made in a noticeably dirty bowl. 0/10. Did not eat the food. Overpriced meal for terrible service and below average cleanliness. Would not waste time or money on this place ever again and neither should you read more

i don't give this business much chance of survial here in lafayette. the quality of the tuna for the price is very poor. it was reasonable prior to covid, but now the tuna is very stringy and the price has risen several dollars for the poke classic. for $14.00 you derserve a much better product. the restaurant was empty for lunch. word of an inferior product must be traveling around lafayette. avoid this restaurant on ambassador caffery. pick up something to go at albertsons. surprising when a grocery store puts out a better product. read more
