HWY180 twists and winds all the way to the top of Neel Gap which is why it's a favorite amongst motorcyclists who race up these roads as they can cling to the corners so much faster than cars can. I won't say anything about safety tho. There are a few benches overlooking a nice vista at around 3000 ft. After perusing the store which was stocked with hiking paraphernalia for those AT enthusiastic-thru-hikers, we unpacked lunch and sat down enjoying the view on this sunny Labor Day. Every now and then the screams of loud motor cycles could be heard. Thru-hikers can book a hostel room here or ship food ahead to this location on their hiking adventure of the AT, which is very technical.
