You have to walk across the grass to get to the little docking station where they have 6 boats. In the water "parking lot" there was a dead duck floating , the boat had pretzels strewn about and smashed, and the seats had clearly not been cleaned or wiped down. Between customers there is no sanitation or cleaning happening. There was also a loose screw at the front of the boat that I put back in twice to no avail. The anchor was too short of a line to actually hit the bottom of the bay anywhere we went. It was still a good place to grab a boat. Gas for 3.5 hours cost us about $15 on top of the reservation, which was really reasonable! Overall, a 4-hour rental for less than $250 is a good deal and we were happy to see Sturgeon Bay that way.

Discovered this place while using a detour south of Algoma. This is a spring fed lake that…read moreaverages 21 feet deep with 38 feet being the deepest point. The lake is 19 acres in size; and it's known for bluegills, brownies, rainbow trout and bass. Latest fishing info says trout are getting scarcer but bass are getting more prevalent. I believe it's catch and release. While we were there kids were swimming. Most of the bottom is termed "muck", while the bottom in the swimming area is sand. There are picnic tables, barbecue spots, a boat landing, a fishing pier and public bathrooms. Not much of a park (it's mostly a gravel parking lot). But the family we saw had set up tarp over one of the picnic tables and were having a great time. A nice place to take the family, swim in the lake and beat the heat. It's off of County Road K on County KK. Electric motors are allowed; but nothing else. If you're looking for a swimmin' hole that's off the beaten track it would behoove you to find this quiet little lake. If swimming is not your bag, bring a small boat and your fishing gear

The beach was very crowded with 100+ people but we were told it was due to a "quiet day" at the beach. The operating hours on the website were not updated - and no disclaimer posted - and no one answered the phones when we called to confirm times. We drove all the way over to Sister Bay and could have stayed to rent one at Nicolet Beach in Peninsula State park, or pursued another activity had we known this company didn't want our business, Beware of planning to rent from this company as they operate on their own time with disregard to customer, rather than abide by their own posted operating hours. Very disappointed in this behavior that has resulted in lost customers.

Couldn't…read moreask for nicer people we felt welcomed from the start booking the trip with Barbara to arriving and chatting with Capt. Lonney and the guide crew getting us setup on whitefish. The guides stayed in our shanty til we felt comfortable with the fishing technique and understanding the sonar fish finder machine that shows fish activity. Off and on throughout the day the guides would check in and see if we needed anything and would even throw a hook in to try and catch a fish for us. The fish shanties were spacious and warm. They were spray foam insulated so for most of the day, even during the winter storm blowing through, we kept our heater on low or off because of how well they held heat. Also there were six porta-potty's close to the shanties, very convenient. They provide lunch for $15 where they'll cook a couple of the fish you've caught along with a side of fries. Was really looking forward to this because how cool is it to pull a fish out of the water then have it filleted and fried minutes later but unfortunately we had a winter storm coming through and had to forgo the shore lunch that day. It's ok money was refunded and just gives me an excuse to book a second trip! All in all it was a great day even with the winter storm messing us up we made a lot of great memories and caught a good number of whitefish! Thanks Captain Lonney and crew!
