The best apartment ever I have lived in, its really clean everywhere, workers and the residents constantly clean up after themselves and others. Also it is really safe place due to the police station in a two minute walk. The office workers ask about the experience at these apartments trying to know how to make everyone's experience even better. It is also really useful that the Covington square is in five minute walk so that everyone can get whatever they want or need the fastest way possible. Also the park which is next to the police station creates a friendly environment for the kids to create new communities, as well as allowing dog owners to walk their dogs and get to know their neighbors as well! Overall this is a great place to live 10/10! Also the neighbors are VERY friendly for example we have a pirate in our building he's the nicest person ever! The leasing office management always checks and makes sure that whoever rents the apartments wont cause any trouble for the residents and so that everyone is ready to help out each other. Overall my family and I got really close with our neighbors that we can say that we're one big family. The office management is very nice as well they always make sure that the office area is clean in every single room. The main office area has a TV and a fireplace which causes a home like environment which makes the main office area really comfortable. The game area is allowing kids to get closer to each other and make lots of different communities and be friends with each other. The office always makes sure that everyone is safe and is nice to each and every single one. The theater room is always clean as well residents are allowed to go in the theater and watch something. The garage area is really clean as well if you pay a little more you're allowed to have a reserved spot which allows you to keep your car safe under cameras that constantly work as well as allowing your vehicle to be safe from different weather situations like rainy days, hail or even thunderstorms. Also in Polaris if you broke anything or if something isn't working at all or isn't working properly you can ask one of the managers to sent you a professional that could help you. Also in the building B there is a gym thats open to residents that are 16 year old and older or if you're under 16 you can come with a parent or a guardian. The gym at polaris gives you opportunities to keep a healthy lifestyle. And the age restrictions makes sure that no kid gets hurt. Overall Polaris is a really great place for you and your family i recommend it for sure and maybe polaris is one of the top three best apartments that also allow your economic situation to stay stable at all times. read more

I lived at Polaris at Covington for 3 years and I couldn't wait until my lease is up so I could move out. There was 2 shootings in the back of the red building in the past year, there's a lot of drug activity going on, and I've had my car broken into twice (and I pay $65/month for a parking garage spot). There are always suspicious looking people hanging around the entrance of the complex, which does not make it look inviting at all. The apartment complex is horribly mismanaged. They've lost my rent check three times and sent me eviction notices two days later. They couldn't make me pay them again only because I had them make a receipt copy of my checks each time I paid. Not to mention that there is a new set of staff members in there about every 3-6 months. If you don't believe me, check out a few posts from 2 and 4 months ago. Each one has a response from the owner that states that they are the "new community director" with two different names. Kelli and Trisha. Polaris at Covington is run by FPI Management who excels in overcharging you when you move out. When I moved out, I was charged $175.00 "standard" apartment cleaning fee and a $275 "standard" carpet cleaning fee (not replacement, CLEANING FEE). That's absolutely ridiculous when I had NO PETS and I rug doctored the unit twice myself. There is NO REASON for $300 worth of cleaning for a carpet that is already spotless. Then I was charged a $300 painting fee for an apartment that I lived in for 11 MONTHS. So you can pretty much guarantee that you won't be getting your deposit back AND you might have to owe them too. There's no way that I should have been charged $750 for an apartment that I was in for 11 MONTHS. All in all, I would not move here. They've got cheap rent but you also get what you pay for. Do not rent here ... I would give zero stars if I could ... unless you want to be charged rent after u move out, have it go straight to collections and your credit report ... just walk away (and no I did not owe a dime when I moved out and they had the next tenant signing the lease the same day I turned in my keys) they did not take me to court and only way to fight it is if I got a lawyer and took them to court ... I'm disabled lived on the 6th floor and I can't even count the amount of times the elevator broke down(and we don't have keys to the stairs, they are exit only) the garage doors broke multiple times to where they just left them open (even though we pay extra to have a secured garage) the air conditioner (which is only for the hallways) broke mid summer and water poured from my ceiling (they never repaired the drywall to avoid mold) the cops came all the time, worst was a two week stretch where they had to bust in my next apt overs door with like 6 cops with guns drawn, a week later there was a shoot out in the parking lot where bullets just missed my car and lodged in the building and the fence(this was middle of the day right after the elementary school let out) we were all trapped inside as there was an active shooter, cops running across my ceiling and the grounds with serious firepower .... shooter was never caught and somehow no one knew who it was ‍... please if you value safety for your children, don't want to find needles on the ground and possible random guns above your kitchen cabinets when you move in ... and even halfway decent management go somewhere else .... oh and the amenities yea you can't use those after business hours (work hrs) so yea might as well not exist .... the fitness center gets destroyed by unsupervised kids and then shut down .... no package delivery so hope u are quick as packages will get stolen within minutes of being dropped off ... I could go on but I think you get the point ... only good thing was our maintenance guy he was amazing read more

So far I am very satisfied with how things have gone, Janessa in the front office is an absolute pleasure. I personally am excited about the key chip access, it definitely adds a good sense of security. It might be a pain in the butt sometimes, but you can't beat security in my opinion. The only downside so far... They have no models to show you. It makes sense, they're on top of their "scheduling" so there aren't vacant apartments available to be shown. Still frustrating though and makes my trust issues tingle lol. If I hadn't seen the inside of my friends apartment... I would be seriously deterred. I like to know what I'm getting myself into! That being said, I have been impressed by the apartments I have seen. My friends apartment looks great, the kitchen and appliances are awesome. Feature and appearance wise, I believe it looks pretty classy inside... I want my future house to have quite a few of those features. I am waiting to see if other apartments are as impressive as theirs. I will update as the process continues. read more

If you have the extra money id reccommend novo apartments which is nearby, it is much nicer overall. Now, i woudlnt reccommend anyone living here unlesd they absolutely must. Charges you for everything, took 2 weeks to fix the vathroom, they never come in, poor rude managers, i can go on for hours. Overall this is the place you wanna avoid. Only good things is location and the DECENT ABOVE AVERAGE apartment gym. It is quite a nice gym but mostly filled with cardio machines whoch im not a fan of. The only thing i use is the dumbells, bench, and one multi use cable machine. Thats pretty much it, i mean its not bad being free but not ideal. Now if you have the money go to la fitniss being a couple feet away. read more

I can understand how other people might not like using a key chip or call box to enter, but I like having a secure building. The only annoying thing is when the front elevator is broken... you have to use the other elevator which requires a key chip to access. So if you used the call box to enter the front of the building and the front elevator is broken you are SOL and must wait till someone else comes along and can let you into the other elevator. I have found the staff to be friendly and the building cleaned regularly. I bought a collapsible wagon so i only need to make one trip to bring groceries in. Also a parking garage space is now only $50. Sooo worth it IMO. Sometimes you need to follow up on a work order to make sure it gets done, that happened to me once out of three times. Otherwise staff show up within a day or two to fix what is needed. I gave this place four stars because you can't beat the rent and in comparison the downsides aren't a big deal. read more

Renters beware! My husband and 2 children moved into a 3-bedroom unit at the beginning of December 2017. We enjoyed our time there with not many complaints to normal apartment living. We were presented with the opportunity to rent a home that was better suited for us so we gave our notice and moved out. Upon moving out, my mother and myself spent a few hours scrubbing the apartment to make it look nice and so that the apartment wouldn't need to put an outrageous amount of time and effort sprucing it up for a new move in. I was informed that we would receive a statement that would not be final as they were trying to re-rent our unit for an early move-out. After receiving the statement I was completely blown away at the charges we received! I am aware that carpets need to be cleaned and paint needs to be touched up before new residents can move in, but we put a lot of effort in cleaning the apartment and we were nickeled and dimed for every charge! $300 for paint (was subtracted $80 since we did not stay the full 12 months) this is totally outrageous, $130 for carpet cleaning (the apartment doesn't pay for ANY normal move out charges???) and a whopping $175 for a professional cleaning.... and on top of that they quoted for 6+ hours of maintenance labor. After calling to complain, the manager said the only thing she noticed she could change was they only spent 2+ hours in the unit instead of the 6+ we were originally quoted. It's apparent that this management company does not award for any effort made by the residence to clean up after leaving or even taking care of the unit. The pictures below show that it was left in great shape and should not have required $675 in move out costs. It is very frustrating that there are apartments out there that NOTICE EFFORT and do not nickel and dime for every NORMAL charge for a turn over. After being frustrated with move out costs, I heard they had re-rented the unit in which I was very appreciative of and grateful. I asked them to please send me the final statement so we could pay it. This is end of October. After calling weekly, and then multiple times a week without receiving a statement they continued to tell me that it was "in the mail". Now, beginning of December, turns out the only mail I received was from COLLECTIONS!! So once again, a resident being diligent to pay their dues, are automatically sent to collections. When I contacted Polaris, the leasing agent said she had contacted corporate and they said they would send me a statement and that's all she could do. I have now left 2 messages with FPI management, and have yet to receive a call back. POOR MANAGEMENT who obviously holds no value to those residents who go above and beyond. read more

Do not live here! The only way to access your apartment is through an elevator that is broken majority of the time. They give you one key chip to enter the lobby to the building you live in whether it be building A or B. Without it you have to call the head of house on a box outside and they have to answer it to let you in. Just imagine having children and them waiting outside for you to open unlock the lobby floor for them to get in safely. It's worse when the head of house or designated person is at work and isn't on their phone. They won't even be able to unlock the door for you. There was a time when the phone box was broken and they did not fix it for MONTHS. Terrible. The gym is alright if you like random people coming in and out and dirtying up the machines. LA fitness is a way better option for you. The people in the office are rude. The janitors won't let you inside the lobby, you have to let yourself in no matter what. Parking is TERRIBLE. If you're not home at least by 7pm, you have to park clear across the complex and walk to your building unless you're lucky. Moving in is HARD. An alarm goes off every time the lobby door, stair door, garage door ($75 a month to park in a garage by the way), or elevator door is left open for too long and it is extremely annoying. Picture bringing groceries in and you holding the door for someone and the alarm sounds. Also, because the only way to access your apartment is through the key chip & elevator, you have to take many more trips to your apartment and back to your car to bring all your shopping goods in. read more
