It's kinda weird to write a review about a jail!!! But since I had to come here today to visit my…read morebrother n law and it was my first visit here... The anticipation of going was so nerve wrecking more so because the Police officers have full control of not letting you in if your no dressed to their liking!! All you ever hear from visitors is how rude the staff is and how unpleasant the process of seeing a loved one is!! I strongly believe that you should never treat someone differently just because there at a jail visiting an inmate, you never know someone's story till it's told to you! I am no criminal so I would hope to never get treated like one just cause I'm visiting an inmate!! Well I gotta say almost every police / correctional officer I encountered was very pleasant and kind, they even made small conversations with us. And the actually smiled.. See not every experience is a bad one at a jail!!

He had such an attitude and interrogated me like I was a criminal! And yes everyone in town told me it's because I have California plates and just like Vegas where I currently actually live most of the time and commute back and forth to California but that's another story! I followed 3 other cars off exit 9 turning right. Well apparently the car who went up the middle left side of the lane wasn't turning left but was also going right so I technically turned and cut him off. The officer said to me at least 4 times didn't I see the white line. We drove back over and walked over to look and the white line is covered in dirt and didn't even matter as far as it's only one lane! But so many people did the same thing I did because it seems the way the lane is come up to middle you go left and everyone else hugs the shoulder to turn right. Look I get it I was wrong made a mistake have only been to this area a few times. I was visiting friend who had to move to an area for a disease and who are also new to the area. So not a party person. He walked up to the car with an attitude! Asked me so many questions that actually I know I didn't even have to answer but I tried to be polite but by the end the way he was speaking to me I was ready to say F U and just give me my ticket already! He could have warned me or even explained to me right away what I did but no just attitude and waited to tell Me until he came back with the ticket and when I said I have a very good record and no tickets he just looked at me like We'll see! I drive a Jeep Cherokee and have a baby car seat in my car hello! Grandma car. His attitude and treatment make me want to stop sticking up for cops and say to everyone who always say they all suck that yep that's true! It was horrible and look maybe he's having a bad day but do better!!! Cuz that was horrible! I am still so upset about it! I didn't deserve to be treated that way for turning! We were All going Slow Enough and the big pick up truck that turned I left him go infront of me when I realized he was also turning no one honked or got upset or anything I waved my hand like my bad! And like I said 3 cars infront of me also turned! No harm no foul! Next time Just be friendly give me my ticket and we can all move on NO attitude and poor treatment required!

Both times that the Yuma Police Department came out they ASSESSED the situation and performed an investigation and based on my knowledge OF law enforcement procedures and investigative skills ,The Yuma Police DepartmentS investigation resulted in a mediated situation and everyone who wasn't getting along was given directives to calm down and given an CORRECT EXPLANATION OF what the RIGHT and LAWFUL CONDUCT SHOULD BE. both times that the YUMA Police Department came out to the domestic dispute family drama they not only gave the problem a remedy and the solution was found, but them coming was a great blessing and the dispute would have been far far worse had the Yuma Police Department not been there ,five star Stars and two thumbs up thank you so much for your professionalism and quick response to our cry for help

Blythe has a sweet gem of a golf course that's fun to play and reasonably priced. IIt's also a great place to ride bikes and e-bikes on country roads without a lot of traffic or smog and offers great views of this pretty valley. Another perk while your visiting is taking care of any California DMV meds new drivers, license, change of ownership, etc. without any lines, your in an out in a very short time!

It was about 116 degrees when we went so we were the only tourists there and all the gift shops were closed. There was one guy you could clearly tell was high on something hard he was emaciated and didn't have a shirt was hanging out by the welcome center. The welcome guy was worried that guy was going to break into his trailer so he left in a hurry to make sure. I hope he and his trailer are ok. The art was cool but idk if I would recommend going there especially with kids or all female group like us.

It is definitely a depressing place, in my opinion. I could never survive in a place with no water, electricity, sewage, etc. I know most probably live here because there is no other option. Some of the videos I watch people choose to live here because there is basically no laws, it's free, and nobody bothers them. **The docent at Salvation Mountain, right next to it, said the people who live in Slab City are never an issue with them and cause no problems. To make up for the dumb guy that answers the phone at the station, the new Imperial Animal Control officer, Stephanie is doing amazing things. She goes above and beyond for the animals and it's obvious that she appreciates her job and really cares about the animals. I'm glad they found a good AC officer here because stray animals, animals caught in canals, animal abuse is crazy in this area.

She was approached as if she was the criminal in the situation. I don't know what the teenagers are like in this city but I do know she was being judged as a rebellious teenager. She is not that at all. She is a B average student and her hobbies are anything science related. Never runs the streets or gets into trouble. She felt she was in danger along with one other child. Officer then went on to say he was raised in an abusive home and would have never called the police. Im pretty sure the 911 call was not about you and your upbringing Mr. Officer. Basically, according to Imperial police it is ok for someone to put their hands on you for no reason. Did you know that you can harm someone as long as you dont leave marks, according to Imperial Police. Oh, and you can put a pillow over someone's face as long as you don't suffocate them all the way. Also, my daughter requested for me to come get her. They stated I would be arrested. That is funny to me since not once did they check my court order. Her father and are friends and have no drama which is the reason why she was there at his house on not one of his weekend's. Maybe Imperial Police should know how to do their job and check court orders before they degrade a child. Dispatch said an officer would call me, they never did. I am not surprised at the lack of professionalism with this department. Haven't heard very good things about this town. Where we live law enforcement is understanding and knows the law.
