I've seen Cinderella, Little Shop of Horrors and most recently Peter Pan. What a great experience! They spend quite a lot of money on the staging and costumes. Always a very impressive performance. The sound system is excellent and the seating is graduated so the back row is still a great place to sit. Never had a bad seat in the house. The serve 'complimentary' wine and beer before the play and during intermission (please tip to be respectful!). They sell $1 concessions beforehand and during intermission as well. This is a great place to take your family or even go on a date. Main stage tickets are $22 for adults. If you don't mind heading to Lakeland for a show, it is well worth it. On a side note, most restaurants and bars close at 11pm. Check out Texas Cattle Company next door for drinks and/or food!

It required the commitment of leaving my house at 5 AM to make it to the first stop closest to me, Frostproof by 8 AM. This was the year I finally made it. The sale is always held the first Saturday in November and attracts thousands of people. It takes place from 8Am to 3 PM. The sale is sponsored by Ridge Scenic Highway Corridor, Corridor Management Entity, City of Lake Wales, Frostproof Chamber of Commerce, Lake Wales Woman's Club, Lake of the Hills Community Club, Town of Lake Hamilton, Dundee Methodist Church, and the City of Frostproof. These civic, religious, and non profit groups have been working together since 2007 to promote tourism along the Lake Wales Ridge. While you shop at the sale you can also dine at local restaurants and shop at businesses. While I pretty much stuck to the sale it was hard not to get sidetracked by some of the places I have always wanted to visit. I got to see a few on this trip in addition to reaching each of the official sale stops. The sale runs along the Lake Wales Ridge and extends 38.7 miles from its intersection with US 27 S of Frostproof to where it intersects with US 17/92 in Haines City. There are five official locations for the sale. These are downtown Frostproof, Lake Wales at the Woman's Club, Lake of the Hills at the Community Clubhouse, Dundee at the Methodist Church, and Lake Hamilton at the Town Hall grounds. In between the official stops are many other unofficial sales. It would be impossible to stop at every sale in one day. Along the route are a number of cultural and historical sites along with lakes, natural areas, citrus groves, and unique Florida attractions. This was the final stop in Haines City and my first time in the city. Early pioneers planted citrus groves and the town is still associated with citrus today. By the time I made it here the sale was wrapping up at town hall. It was a long day but I am glad got to experience the Scenic Ridge and see so many uniquely Florida places for the first time.

Wow! These people love Christmas to a degree that I don't think I have ever seen before. I have…read morewanted to visit for several years now and it was well worth the detour on a recent trip to Winter Haven to finally stop and take in this one of a kind spectacle. Since 1983 the Bigda's have been showing up and showing out for Christmas in a big way. Some people have lights synchronized to music while others concentrate of yard decorations but the Bigda's have everything and more. While there are more than 100,000 lights what really sets them apart is the one of kind handmade decorations with movement. While they are mainly Disney centric I also spotted the Grinch riding a bike and Snoopy getting the upper hand on the Red Baron as they flew in the sky. In 2020 they won their episode of ABC's "The Great Christmas Light Fight". Pictures do not do this house justice, You have to see it in person to really appreciate its grandeur. The Bigda's collect donations for Polk County Sheriff Children's Charity so drop them a buck. In addition to the incredible display, Santa himself was hearing children's Christmas wishes and Stich, Lilo, Captain America, and the Gingerbread Man from Shrek were on hand to take photos with visitors. A big shout out to the Bigda's for providing this amazing holiday experience for Central Florida. I overheard people talking who had come from the theme parks to see this house. A big thank you also to the Bigda's neighbors for their grace. It can't be easy to have this much traffic come into your neighborhood, clog your streets, and block your driveways. They are such good sports. The neighbor across the street from the Bigda's even gave them his front yard so their decorations spill across the street into his yard. Add this house to your Christmas bucket list.

I was able to walk into allowed spaces & along the front to take it all in. It's got old school wooden cutouts and lights synchronized to music. They have lots of carnival food, mini-concerts, fireworks, a 5K run and many gorgeous art pieces from jewelry to photography, pottery to sculptures. They have a golf cart courier service. A great time for serious art buyers and social butterflies.

My entire family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the play. As the characters performed each unique roll attending Sunday school and bantering with each other through various bible stories we laughed and cried. All the actors in the village players were great. The theater is just adorable and everyone gets a good view of the stage. There was even a small snack bar serving fresh popcorn and all run by volunteers. Such a great place to go for local, quality entertainment. Certainly checkout one of the upcoming shows and also make a donation to keep it running.

As you work your way through the school rooms, decorated in spot on fashion, you never know when a child who has been scorched will scream for you, beg you to take them or urge you to leave. The teen program at Campfire Sunshine State has taken months to plan their theme and execute this over the top haunted house. They earn community service hours and so much in terms of leadership and project management skills as well as theatrics and construction experience. Campfire is a non profit organization servicing children and teens in Polk County. Come on out and see what they are all about and have a freight that the same time. Willaford Railroad Museum (which I will shorthand simply to RWWR Museum for the remainder of this review) has been on my "need to check out" historic places and museums around and about Historic Plant City for the longest time. Besides the fact I love trains, and that I now have a much bigger appreciation for them given the fact our primary means of transportation is automobiles on roads, this museum pulled the heart string for my love of treasure/scavenger hunts thanks to their Henry's Hidden Train Hunt. It took longer than I wanted it, but I was able to finally go to the RWWR Museum. Not only that, my aunt accompanied me. It is nice to have family actually want to join you in partaking in one of your admired hobbies and actually enjoy it. Though an address is provided, RWWR Museum is located on the Eastside of McCall Park, which is the park that is in the center of Plant City's Historic Downtown. Firstly, there is plenty of parking available just north of the RWWR Museum. Though it is the eastern-most part of the historic downtown area, that is fine to park there as the part of said downtown area that would be enjoyed by people, primarily tourists, is less than nine square blocks. Walking shouldn't be an issue if one is able to do so. The RWWR Museum is kinda small as its historic locale is the Plant City Train Station. There is only so much you can fit in such a small space, but they did a great job showing a lot with the little amount of space and resources they have. A caboose and steamer are available for viewing just outside of the museum, and inside, there are artifacts throughout the Florida Railway's history, as well as photo opportunities which my aunt and I partook in. There is also a small "gift shop" desk selling t-shirts, stickers, and other museum-branded items, and a small room showcasing "professional" model train designers and operators as they operate model trains for guests. Another note worth mentioning is the restrooms are clean and well-stocked (men and reportedly the women by my aunt). Also, the RWWR Museum also has a Little Free Library, so take that into account if you want to place or take some free books. NOTE: This Little Free Library is not an official Little Free Library by Little Free Library Organization, so they are not recognized by the Little Free Library App. Finally, Henry's Hidden Train Hunt must be discussed. There is a brochure with riddles that take you to locations all around and about Plant City's Historic Downtown and trivia questions one must answer at each location. There are 10 in total and each location gives you the answer needed for the trivia question. Bring back the completed brochure to the RWWR Museum during its hours of operation to receive a free gift for completion: A Henry's Hidden Train stamp lapel pin. Probably the only possible vice/criticism is the hours of operation which are Tuesday to Saturday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. only. At least admission is free with the option to donate to their cause and upkeep. Overall, this visit to RWWR Museum was everything I wanted and got. I learned more about trains, learned more about Florida's history with trains, enjoyed an adventure, and got free stuff, whilst being able to donate to a good cause. Add in the fact that despite all you can do, you can complete everything you want to do on your initial visit. Ergo, that is why the RWWR Museum gets five stars out of five stars, for me.

Unlike at Ocala, ( which as handsome buildings but no museum ), all tracks leading into this diamond look spiffy, whereas in Ocala one direction is tip top and the other live but decrepit. A nice elevated train viewing platform close by, all in all, a great stop for the train fans amongst us.
