It was about the three princesses and the scare actors seemed to want to talk about the torture and insult us more, but we had to usher through the house. I think it was the weakest, but goofy. The 2nd house was the best with a surgical theme. There were people in sheets in a room with a stroke light, a dirty bathroom with a scare actor talking to himself through a mirror, and lots of gory effects. The 3rd house was about blood fairies which has a fun walk through the woods with some cool props. It was a little annoying on this one, just because the group in front of us was walking extremely slow. We eventually caught up to them, so we tried to slow down to stagger our groups more, but the group behind us caught up to us. We all were kind of clumped together. It kind of messed up the flow, but the effects were all very fun. The venue is normally great at timing so groups all get a chance to go. They also have some food and drinks for purchase at reasonable prices. Parking is a breeze and the ticket process is relatively easy. The bag policy was a bit confusing though since it said online that you could bring a fanny pack, but then upon arrival it said no fanny packs. I guess being a clear tote if you need, which is allowed.

Each trail has its own story, detailed sets, and scare actors who are way too good at their job. My daughter and her friend were clutching each other one second, laughing hysterically the next, and sprinting for their lives the moment a chainsaw revved up. I, of course, maintained my cool... mostly. The atmosphere is incredible -- fog rolling through the trees, eerie music, and enough jump scares to keep your heart rate in cardio mode. Even the waiting areas feel like mini horror movie sets. The team behind this event clearly puts a lot of heart (and fake blood) into making it unforgettable. 10/10 would get chased again. If you want Halloween thrills done right, Sir Henry's is where fear and fun hold hands in the dark.

People get there EARLY. I'm talking, I was there 2+ hours before 1st pitch and there were at least a couple rows of cars and more coming already. It gets packed fast so just be aware of that if you're driving. Workers do a good job directing people on the way in, but on the way out it's pretty much a mess. This field and facility are very well maintained. Everything seemed fairly clean, considering how big of a space it is. There is a big lawn behind center field where a lot of young kids run around trying to catch home run balls from the team warmups. It's very family-oriented, just a great and enjoyable atmosphere. The worst part are certainly the prices. If you're not willing to pay minimum $50 at the gift shop don't even walk in there, that was obscene. The food prices are definitely up there as well, but it is still a professional sporting event and that's just how food prices are for that so you have to keep that in mind and be prepared. Also, security can get a little weird if you're not in the main seating area. They make you scan your ticket multiple times to where it gets a little ridiculous. Not a fan of that or the Tigers, to be honest, but I'd come back again because there's few things better than being out at the ball game!

Nice views and a peaceful spot. Sulphur Springs itself has an interesting history. The neighborhood has been relatively inpoverished more recently despite its history as a tourist attraction with natural springs. The nearby pool and its mural at the springs is worth a visit. They might let you check it out if you tell me you are interested in the history and not there to swim. Lovely river views. Some benches. Helpful and friendly staff. Some interesting fliers and I've enjoyed the talks and exhibitions I've attended. This is a small community museum not the Smithsonian. ;)

How many chances do you get to see Milky Chance, Jenny Lewis, Awolnation, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Passion Pit, Ryan Adams, Pretty Lights, Cold War Kids, Hozier, Pixies, and the Strokes at the same festival in Tampa?!?! FOOD TRUCKS: The food trucks and craft beer tents offered a nice alternative to the usual concert concession snacks. The trucks didn't mark up their menu prices so I paid $9 for three tacos the first night and $15 for a grilled cheese sandwich and tots the second night. Beverages (not sold by the trucks) were a little pricier. $4 for 20oz water or sodas, $8 for domestic beers and $15 for craft beers. CARNIVAL RIDES: I only made time to ride the Ferris Wheel, but unlimited free carnival rides were available both days of the music festival. ~The Not So Great~ DATES: I work on Friday until 5:30pm so I missed the first half of Milky Chance. Judging by the crowd I'd say others were in the same boat. A Saturday/Sunday festival would be easier to attend. CONCERT OVERLAPS: I loved that there were four stages at Big Guava, but I hated having to choose between two great bands when there were overlaps on the concert schedule. Most bands only got 45-60 minutes stage so I decided to see Milky Chance instead of Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and I saw Jenny Lewis instead of Awolnation. FAIR WEATHER FANS: In general the audience was lame. People seemed more interested in taking selfies than actually listening to the music. Everyone just sat in their seats while me and my sister danced our hearts out. (Shout out to the guy in the hotdog suit at Cold War Kids. You were awesome!) "They don't even know what it is to be a fan. Y'know? To truly love some silly little piece of music, or some band, so much that it hurts." - Almost Famous Would I attend Big Guava again? Absolutely! The free tickets were a nice perk, but I would have gladly paid for my tickets to see Hozier and Milky Chance. I probably would have gotten the 2-Day Early Bird "Pit Pass" so that I could stand in the pit section instead of the general admission section. This was the best deal at $109, but you had to be willing to purchase your ticket before the line up was announced. If you purchased tickets after the early bird specials you may have paid $55-$80 for a one day general admission or pit pass.

The drinks are very, very cheap and the bartenders are volunteers that once they know you, remember your name and what you drink. This is a very social place, expect people to come up and start talking to you if they've never seen you before. You need to be sponsored to become a member for a nominal fee. There are many dart boards (Monday League) and pool tables. Lots of fund raisers for the community and hall space available for rent. There are smoking and non smoking areas, as well as an outdoor area. Again, everything is very, very cheap here but good. Again, members only, I'm sure anyone will sign you up if you want to visit!
