This is the only venue I have ever been to where craft beer is actually cheaper than domestic options. Ordering either a $5 Craft Beer or $7 Budweiser is a pretty easy choice for me. That being said, you will still probably have to wait 25 minutes to get your $5 local brew. Lakeland center is dated, dark, and a long way from being a state of the art facility. However, it really isn't trying to be one either. You get the feeling that if Lakeland center could talk it would say; "I'm not the best venue in Florida and I'm OK with that." All kidding aside, the venue is comfortable, intimate and was a fine place to enjoy some Ring of Honor Wrestling. However, it doesn't appear to have been renovated in several decades and the concession lines were very slow. The last time I was here, I saw the Lakeland Warriors playing hockey in the SHL and it was called the Civic Center! ;-) What a difference 2 decades make!!! It's now the Lakeland Center with three arena/theatre type areas. The lonely Civic Center has been refurbished and the Marine Raiders now play Arena Football in that area. It also was hugely expanded and one area is used for concerts, etc. and another for exhibits. It's now so huge that it seems it was necessary to build a Hyatt Regency onto the other end which is quite convenient, albeit expensive. The Lakeland Center though still retains it's small town intimacy. Major shout out to all the volunteers that make the magic happen! They work tirelessly long hours before and after the public is there for any event. Special props to Ushers Beth from Miami for being so informative and helpful as well as sweet Usher Sue. You should ask yourself one question - is there any other possible venue to see the show that I want to see? If the answer is yes, then head to that venue. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. I'll start off with the positives... nice staff, cheap parking and VERY cheap concessions compared to larger venues. The bad... the sound isn't good. Very echoey and clearly not designed for modern sound systems. Rock hard seats that haven't been updated in a long time. Horrible musty smell throughout the venue. The ugly... the venue itself looks like a high school theater from the 70s. Nothing has been done to spruce it up, update the color scheme, etc. Once again, if you have another choice in venues.. take it. read more

We had a great time seeing the Blues Brothers Revue. Who knew Lakeland had such a great facility that attracts so much talent. We will be back and highly recommend visiting if you see someone you'd like to see. Easy in and out. Very clean. Great place. read more

DISABLED BEWARE. Have tickets to dinner and show in Youkey Theatre, husband walks (poorly) with cane. Asked a woman with unreadable badge for restroom location, she directed us to entire length of the building and then to the right. Saw a man walk into Youkey Theatre, for his attention to ask for husband to be allowed to use restroom in the Youkey lobby (8 steps) and was told no. Come about 60 to 20 minutes early to park ($8) and pickup tickets from Will Call. The facility is standard. The workers were generally nice, no issues to report. This establishment has a lot of venues or events that come through there, so if you are within general driving distance, look on their website to see if there's anything of interest. read more

In October I took my family here for two separate events. The first time I noticed how horrible the bathrooms smelled and thought it was just a one time thing. The second time they were dirty and the smell was even worse. Why aren't there any air fresheners in there? My son said the urinals smelled so bad of pee that he had to go into the stall. Ice skating is coming up soon and I will gladly make the drive to go somewhere else. Oh, and the ice is horrible too. read more

This is a mixed review. The Lakeland Center gets 5 stars for their cordial personnel, right from the parking lot attendant to the folks helping you with your seat location. The TOPIC that I intended to comment about (could not find it anywhere on Yelp!) was the "Classic Albums live" program of July 15, 2016 -- the ALLMAN BROTHERS 1969-79. I've been to many concerts, starting with the Doors back in Pittsburgh in 1968. I'm used to the performers interacting with the crowd -- a sign of showmanship, to say the least. Last night I was a bit taken back as I felt like I was at a High School/garage band concert!!! OK, the music selections were excellent, the actual music was excellent, BUT, when each song ended the stage went dim and NOTHING! Sure, they were preparing for the next song but when you have a place that was mostly full of Senior Citizens one would expect that they do know about "concert interplay". The music would end, the place became dim, and occasionally one would hear a happy shout-out, or an occasional whistle, or someone yelling "clear" and some loud buzzing (just kidding)! The point is, it was too "choppy". If anyone of the personnel happen to hear about my review, take heart, it's just constructive criticism, not a "diss" (whatever the Hell that is). All in all it was an entertaining evening and I was glad it was at the Lakeland Center due to all of the conveniences involving the place. read more

Beware of "Convenience Fee" when purchasing tickets!!!! I just purchased 6 tickets, on the Lakeland Center website, to an event in January and to my astonishment the convenience fee was $57. That's almost $10 per ticket! This is price gouging and highway robbery. I called to discuss and was told it was a convenience so that I can sit at home to order my tickets and not have to get in my car and drive there. That's BULL! Also was told that if I came to the box office to purchase, the price was $3 less. BIG DEAL! $7 per ticket is still too much to pay! At least they don't charge you to print your tickets at home. read more

We were at the Youkey Theatre to see Weird Al. The seats are uncomfortable and the rows too close together. You can purchase beverages and bring them into the theatre but people threw them on the ground and the floor was wet and stinky. Seems like a bad idea with no cup holders on the seats. Guess it is for the $$$$$$. Too few security and people were visibly recording the show with flash turned on their phones. $8.00 to park read more
