They were asked to create a simple gate to our back, deck fence - it was a journey. The guy who showed up (Jamie) was eager to start. He proceeded to fuck up the project and made the door to the deck unusable. Then he disappeared for a year. 4 months later Polli gave us a call that said we owe 1k - even though nothing had been fixed. Still. PolIi finally did come back and fix it after a year. Shout out to Jamie for finishing the job. That being said, why use the guy who blew it initially. Their expectation is that nothing changed/occured then business as usual and we owe the same invoice. Am I psychotic or are these people just forgetting the agreed upon timeline. NVM integrity and professionalism. Id like to take them to court, but more so i want to see the comments. Our experience with Polli has been very frustrating, as we believe we were misled and substantially overcharged for work on our roof, while also having a poor experience with follow-up communications. Polli estimated in the $2,000 to $3,000 range for inspection and repair of our cedar roof, however they recently invoiced us over $9,400, while performing a small fraction of the work we expected. We have asked for clarification on why their labor was well beyond their estimate but we received no response. We were also invoiced for materials well beyond what they actually used, which also included a 50% markup. I recommend avoiding Polli Construction at all costs! read more

We got a quote in 2022 to replace four 4x4 posts for our overhanging porch on our raised ranch. This was not a job with a huge repair involved nor structural problem or issues that would increase the cost of doing it. It was simply to replace rough looking Fir 4X4 posts with pressure treated posts. We figured the estimate would be perhaps $3-6K, worst case. It came in at $11,000-14,000 for labor and materials with a clause that costs could go higher is they found unforeseen (hidden) issues that would increase both labor and materials. Also noted was an additional fee if required for a power lift at $175/day plus a $350 drop off/pick up fee, so that alone could have involved an additional expense over a number of successive days on the job. We were stunned by this entire estimate. Yikes! Given the estimate was a total shock for cost, we passed. This was the second estimate we got from Polli. The first was a 2020 bathroom remodel and the estimate included agreed conditions I would provide and pay for all of the required items and Polli would basically handle just the labor and installations. That estimate was more of a shock then the one for our 4X4 posts. We will not go back to them for any more estimates. They may be very good at what they do, but, they are out of their league for the $$$$ they want for a basic residential job. read more

Our experience with Polli Construction was frustrating. Their business model appears to be:low-ball estimate followed by jawdroppingly high invoice. In our case $4300 estimate to fix rotted fascia on a 3 bdrm cape followed by a $16,000 invoice. Their guys are pleasant to deal with but the $87/hr labor rate and 50% mark-up on materials contributed to the problem. In the end, we were willing to pay for the work done but felt we should be reimbursed for the cost to replace the gutter which were ruined in the process. The management was difficult to deal with, going from condescending to insulting - tearing our checks up in front of us and threatening superior court and late fees if the total wasn't paid in full. Good luck if you deal with them. Forewarned is forearmed. We won't be going there again. read more

Polli was contracted as an EPA certified firm to do work in a lead paint environment for a leased property. Besides being rude and demeaning, they started work without following EPA or lead safe guidelines. Zero! Our state health dept had to become involved as well as the EPA. Their behavior was so below the level of even subpar that I don't know what to say. Please do yourself a huge favor and avoid this company. read more

Not happy at all. I paid the down payment required, no problem. They did a rush job. They missed a brick they were supposed to repair. One board on the back porch warped within a week. They left my lattice a mess. I paid final bill and thought that was it. I received another bill and called the office. I told her that I was not happy with the job they did and she told me I was probably still under warranty. I got the impression that someone was going to come to my house and maybe correct the problem. I received a threatening letter from them to pay the third bill or I would face legal action. I will never use Polli again. Stay away from Polli. read more

I had a really positive series of experiences w/ Polli, including a porch they built for us. From their estimator to their project team on the ground, and their staff in the office, I have nothing but good things to say. They made a recommendation for type of wood for our porch (that we hadn't considered). We listened to it and it worked out great. They communicate extremely well, provide a clear contract and did an outstanding job. They even removed some existing concrete I was trying to get rid of on my property for me. The guys on the work-site were kind, courteous and tried to make every accommodation not to be in the way. They get busy, so while they always responded to me it does take them awhile (during busy season) to get on the job. They are not 'cheap', but they do excellent work. I thought the price was pretty fair for the quality. I recommend them highly for reliable, high quality work. read more

Polli Construction was used by my Townhouse HOA to replace and paint a single trim board on the garage that's damage was my fault. My fiancé offered to fix this as it was a small job as he has a handyman business on the side and the work was easy. This request was denied by the HOA. Polli construction shows up on the scheduled day. Two men were there for roughly an hour 1 board. And were gone. A couple days later, the painter shows up and paints the board. 20 minutes worth of work. I work from home, so I was there the whole time the work was done. Weeks later, I get a bill for almost $577!!! Billed for 6.3 hours of work at $65/hour!!! It was an hour and a half at MOST. This was basic handyman work charged at artisan craftsman prices. The work and material should have cost $200 at MOST. There were other concurrent projects going on at the Townhouse complex, so giving the benefit of the doubt, I called to dispute the time thinking it was an error or time from other projects was added to my single board replacement.. They said the price is final. That is dishonest and wrong. If Polli is the chosen contractor, you will be wildly overcharged and with little recourse aside from hiring an attorney, you may have to eat it. read more

Polli Construction is a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. We had Polli install a new shower base and replace a couple of large windows on the second floor of our house. They were extremely professional throughout the project. Their workmanship was excellent. I was particularly impressed that a supervisor inspected the project before we signed off on it. I would pick Polli again for any future projects. read more

Polli Construction rebuilt the outdoor wooden patio of our condo and we are delighted with the results. The carpenters, Vinton and Devlin, are masterful and accomplished.
