Sadly, I had several documents…read moreI needed printing so, the El Dorado County Library, i.e., the EDC LIBRARY has available modernized computers you may use as well as printing documents which by the way, is completely a Godsend. Ahhhhhh~Yes, I do hear the Angels' Choir . . . However, I never applied for an EDC LIBRARY ID Card so, I decided I'll apply for an ID Card on my birthday which just so happens to be TODAY~YAY: I was given a short library card, application form which I copiously completed, submitting my CDL, signed the application, and gave my application and CDL to the awesomely cool Librarian. Afterwards, the Librarian escorted me to the computer station giving me succinct instructions using the computers. IMPORTANT FYI: When you're ready printing your documentation-whatever you do, DO NOT PRESS CTRL + P; unfortunately, using this shortcut will truncate your document printing only the first page~DOH! Instead, scroll down to the bottom of the page searching for three dots in a column in the right side clicking the mouse on the three dots selecting PRINT. Voila~Finished!

I remember my mom taking me and my sister there during the summer to check out books. We used to check out the same books over and over again because we loved them so much. The library is no longer located in Cedar Center. They have a beautiful new building which is larger than the library I used to go to. A new building for another generation of Arnold kids to develop a life-long love of reading. :)

There's a sign on it that says out of order. But on the upside I just learned about this 3d printer I couldn't be more thrilled. Yes the library now has a 3-D print lab. They only allow 1/mo and it must be something that was successfully printed from thingverse or similar site. in other words you probably can't just design your own without uploading it to one of those sites first and getting others to successfully printed to show that it's not a disaster and then it is a successful design not that they only offer PLA (Polylactic Acid). It is the standard for library printers because it's easy to use and doesn't give off toxic fumes, it can warp if left in the direct summer sun or high heat though so if you're printing something for use outdoors you may need to spray on a protectant of some sort.

Not only is it a great place for students to come for a quiet place to study, it is also perfect for anyone looking to use the computers or have a quiet space to work or read. They have free wifi, printing and copying that are only 10 cents a page. They also have fantastic rooms in the back where you can study with a group, or if you just want a private space to be alone and quiet to concentrate. These rooms are such a plus! Where else can you go to use free wifi, but also have a private area all to yourself? In these economic times, money is scarce, renting movies can be $3-$5! But at the library, you can rent three movies at once for FREE! Not to mention, their late fees for books are very low so if you forget to return a book for a few days you wont be paying big bucks. Check it out! As a lover of books and quiet places, I highly recommend.

They also have cords you can use their for free cell phone charging while at the library. They even have a great bulletin board of all the activities happening in the community. I am not a Truckee resident and did not have any issues connecting to the internet which was speedy and free. The library is decently sized and has all the usual library stuff, including fiction and non-fiction, reference and periodicals. There are computers available to be used though I'm not sure if those are for residents only. I'm not suggesting that there's an exposed power outlet on the back wall of the library but if someone was looking to discretely charge up their RV's onboard battery while using the wifi of the library, they might be interested to know that. Few days ago, although I was so exhausted but my little ones needed to borrow books no matter how tired I had to put on that mommy energy and get them here. I sat next to the window, watched through the window cars passing and enjoyed the outdoor lush beauty. There was a magic, no phones, library silence, row of books that stand like silent companions and each holding a world within the spine of books. At least the books are silent not like manager's, they don't ask how fast can you work on this. I feel library is a safe space, read, wander with imaginations, crave for more and eager to read next book from the series and let your brain learn new words or emotions through the book. Growing up, I was happy whenever the library trailer book bus came to our school. We never had library while growing up, so I looked forward to borrow book's when the library bus came. I clearly remember one time, my favorite book was dinosaur book. I renewed twice because the story was my favorite. And I'm glad my kids enjoy reading and thanks to the public library, we've borrowed thousands of books. And without the library, this wouldn't be possible without breaking the bank. And thanks to the library, we can borrow from different branches. They make it possible for kids to read and grow. All I want to say, thank you! You are making a big difference in our lives.
