I received a pomegranate inn gift certificate as a gift and was excited to get away for a weekend! I was told upon booking I could not use the gift certificate for booking and that a deposit of $200 was needed to be taken from my credit card that would later be refunded to my card upon the completion of my stay. At the time of my stay I was disappointed to learn a live check would be mailed to me instead of receiving a refund to my card as previously agreed upon. But I accepted a $30 future credit as a kind gesture for the inconvenience. Flash forward 4.5 months. It has been since 02/16 that I checked out of the hotel and I am still out $190. I am so confused as to why there were so many check envelope "returns" from my correct address that I confirmed multiple times and received mail to daily. I have now been following up twice, or more, a month since March and no word on my refund. I know COVID has a lot of businesses backed up, which was their excuse back in MAY, But this is issue pre dates COVID closures and should have been a priority refund due to the timing. If I had received a refund to my card like promised initially then the checks would have never been returned in the first place. This is frustrating to have to continuously reach out and not have any updates or follow through. Also, very unhappy that I am the one constantly following up and no one is reaching out other than responding to me emails stating they'll check on things again. Very unreliable and disappointing, won't be staying at a lark in the future. In response to what the manager has commented below. This has nothing to do with my address change. I have been in contact with your managers since March about this issues and happened to move late June. I received several notifications saying that it was sent in the mail and then returned to you. For 4 months my address was perfectly deliverable. I don't believe it was ever sent. Period. And by your managers have been in contact with me do you mean respond to my email once and then follow up about a new check being sent? Because that's what's been happening. I am happy to screen shot my emails and share on yelp as well. Your apology is not an apology. You are trying to refocus the blame. Pathetic leadership and management skills. Terrible customer service.

Day 1: I have not been here less than an hour and love this place. The assistant manager Sophia was just a wonderful cheery person, great customer service. I can't wait for breakfast; they are gluten aware. Day 2: Breakfast was great, smoked Gouda omelette with gluten free bread. The surrounding area is beautiful. Day 3: Breakfast again was fantastic, the two inn keepers are wonderful people and do an incredible job here. Thank you for a wonderful experience. PS you should keep more bacon on hand.

We stayed in this bed & breakfast place when we travelled to Portland, Maine last year. (yes, i know, long overdue review). This B&B is in a rather residential area. The whole neighborhood contains east-coast styled and red-brick structured houses, which looks quite historic and charming. We instantly fell in love with the neighborhood. When we walked into the B&B, we knew we made the right decision choosing this place. It was just so neat and lovely. All the detailing in the house indicated this is a house with history and stories. It was nicely maintained. The decoration looked very warm and cozy. All the small things on the desk, on the shelf, or on the ground caught our attention. It was not difficult to notice the display of pomegranate ornaments everywhere. We checked in late. The person who stayed there for the afternoon shift was nice enough to wait for our arrival before she took off for the day. She brought us to our room, which was again quite charming. I felt like I went to a flamboyant fantasy room back in time. In the morning, there was a cook who came in to prepare us breakfast. We were sitting in this beautiful dining room with other guests. The breakfast was quite tasty. The service was quite accommodating, too. This place is like a gem hidden in a small and quite l town. I wish I can go back there again if chance permitted.

Old tiles and moldy grout - Carriage House room #7

Sadly, I cannot recommend this Inn. We recently stayed there for our anniversary. We have given the management of the Inn more than enough opportunity to respond to our complaints and we've heard nothing. I feel a responsibility to let people know that the Inn is simply not up to it's price point (over $300/night). Like the reviewer earlier, we too, stayed in the carriage house (the previous reviewers complained about this a year ago and, clearly nothing was done to remedy). The room was below our expectations - in particular the bathroom. The bathroom is old, tile is cracked and grout in shower was moldy. The shower has a very cheap plastic shower curtain, again, completely inappropriate for the price point. Overall, the Inn needs a refresher. I am sure it's not the product they want to present to the public. The fact that we haven't heard from Lark Hotels management (Pomegranate is among this boutique chain) is indicative that they must not care...and it shows in the maintenance of the Inn! On a positive note, the staff at the property was lovely.

Cheese souffle with candied bacon, outstanding!

He gave us all kinds of tips on where to eat, what to see, and which neighborhoods to check out. And the breakfast options. Holy moly. These are some of the things David made: lobster souffle; turkey bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast puff pastry; raspberry custard; pancakes with wild blueberry compote; lobster home fries. Honestly, some of our best meals in Portland were eaten right in this very B&B. He even puts snacks in the second floor lounge area (there's also tea and chips) every day, and on an especially hot day he put out a pitcher of pink lemonade. It seems like almost all the cooking and cleaning is done by him. I'm not sure how he manages it and yet everything is flawless, but there you go. Reserve your room early because it was booked solid the whole time we were there. Totally worth it.

There's a water dispenser, Keurig machine (with reusable kcups!), tea and snacks avail 24/7. We stayed in room 1 which was just enough space for two. No issues with getting warm water in the shower. The only thing to note is that room 1 is right outside the communal area on the 2nd floor. We had no trouble with noise overall but if people outside the room were talking or walking by, we heard very clearly. Definitely recommend and would love to come back when it's warmer!

It was our first time staying in a B&B and this place exceeded our expectations. It was a charming little place with six unique rooms. Breakfast was wonderful and made to order each morning. Upon our arrival, there was no one to greet us or direct us to our room. Instead, there was a locked front door and a note saying the entry instructions were included in an email sent sometime earlier. There was also a phone number to call if we needed help. So, standing there on the stoop, in the rain with my wife and our luggage, tired from a long day of driving, I called the number. Milan answered and repeated what the note had said about the instructions being sent via email sometime earlier. So now, still standing on the stoop, I'm scrolling through emails trying to find the one they sent me a day or two earlier. I eventually found a lengthy email with all sorts of information, most of which was irrelevant to us. I sifted through that haystack of verbage and finally found the needle containing the entry instructions and got into the place. Once in, we had to search around to find our room, eventually found it and got settled in, a little frustrated at the experience of getting there. Nevertheless, the room was nice and Milan later showed up (evidently sensing our irritation at the hoops we'd been required to jump through) and told us breakfast was served at a second inn a block away and we were welcome to join them in the morning. We passed on that. If you like the modern e-era and minimal human interaction, this place is for you. On the other hand, if you're expecting a little something more than than just a days-old email, you'll be disappointed.

The new ownership and management do not appear to be invested in the customer experience. As a matter of fact, Hemanth the manager parks in the only handicapped parking spot in the back lot. Two of the other employees also park in the tiny lot out back, which forces guests onto the street or in the overflow lot. The new management, when I explained that I had not been told about the additional lot, insisted that I had been-although they were not there when I was checked in. My check in experience was interrupted by the new manager. Howard was beginning to check me in when Hemanth swooped in from the back room and talked over him. I did not receive a vehicle tag during check in, and only found out that I would need one the following day when other guests were checking in and getting vehicle tags. The toilet seat in my bathroom is broken (you sit down and slide from side to side) and the soap dispenser has been empty since check in two days ago.
