My daughter is going into her 4th year at Chico State and Pomona West is the 3rd place she has lived, and the only place we would renew a lease. Management has been transparent with fees and have answered maintenance requests from my daughter and her roommate this past year quickly and efficiently. This property allows pets and does their best to pair individuals together. My son is starting at Chico in the fall and will also be living in these apartments. The management has made the application and placement process so easy and convenient. Let's face it, there are a lot of options out there for students to live and all have their pros and cons. This property has never tried to overcharge or take advantage of the fact that it is mostly students who are living and communicating with them. I would definitely recommend this property for students going to Chico State. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would!! Do not live here the apartments are disgusting and filthy. Nothing was cleaned before given keys to the unit. We entered the unit for the first time and it smelled, had dead roaches in the bathrooms/ family room and several live roaches in the hallway and kitchen. Carpets were stained, dirty and had bleach marks on them and headboard was broken and unattached from the bed frame. We refused the keys and immediately left, tried to work with Mgmnt to get another unit which wasn't easy... when we could finally see it, it was slightly less disgusting but much smaller, not fully furnished and not what the lease was for. The grounds outside the apartment also had roaches which Mgmnt denied and sent me a letter from the exterminator saying that while there are roaches it's the tenants responsibility to close the drains so they don't come inside. This was especially interesting considering this was the condition one day1 and I never actually moved in. Management is completely incompetent, I had to hire a lawyer to deal with this insanity I REPEAT DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! I have had nothing but a good experience here at Pomona. I have heard a lot of flack thrown managements way in my time living here, but they have been nothing but kind and good to me. They suuuuuuuuuuck. I had a roommate threaten me and my pets and they wouldn't remove him, terminate either of our leases, or put me in a new unit quickly enough. I ended up staying with my brother for over a month. Before that we had several issues with our ac unit because they didn't want to replace it but it would freeze over at 75 degrees. There's a terrible humidity problem and mold issues which were reported on several occasions and never dealt with. Several dead trees have fallen over and just barely missed the apartment unit itself. The dogs will play too aggressively and chase residents because Karen lets them do as they please. Only 2 of the like 5 dogs are well behaved and they're never bathed or hardly ever brought inside when it's raining (unless maintenance does it). They climb into the dumpsters and pull out trash to play with. Maintenance is super awesome and they are just great people in general and are incredibly helpful. Management needs an update. Oh also the gates were always broken or unlocked. read more

i had a horrible experience here they are dirty and rude we had mold in our window seals and and in our vents we made many requests to get it taken care of and they wouldn't do anything about it they continued to say it wasn't black mold so it wasn't harmful so they left it in the house. We also had a bad cockroach problem typical of Chico but I still don't want them in my home again we made request to get the roaches removed again they said that they send the bugs in for inspection and they were just "mud Beatles" and they were harmless to us so again they never came a fixed the solution I even have video and picture evidence of the mold and the roaches on top of that they have an aggressive German Shepard (they let their dogs roam around the complex with no leashes) I have been chased back into my apartment multiple times by their dogs they were barking and growling and chasing me also be careful if you leave your apartment door open they will come in on their own also if you own plants keep them off the ground I couldnt tell you how many times my plants were peed on and killed from their. Dogs. all around I had a horrible experience not only that when they gave us our apartment in the beginning of the year it was extremely dirty there was literally cat poop sitting in the bay windows of one of the bedrooms and there was a full Burnt chicken left in our oven aswell. So that 330-500 dollars that they are going to take out of your deposit for a "cleaning fee" is just to take your money they don't clean anything. read more

I recommend to parents (and of course, anyone) considering Pomona West Apartments, so you can see how Pomona West Apartments treats their tenants. On August 5, 2022, we moved out, thoroughly cleaned all day, and hired a professional to clean the carpets in apartment 8A at Pomona West Apartments. We took video of the apartment to have a record of the cleaned apartment. A Pomona West Apartments Management Office Associate stated that they will have the carpet cleaned unless we have them professional cleaned. This same associate further stated that we would have to provide a receipt if we had carpet professionally cleaned. Before we returned the keys, Paul another Pomona West Apartments Management Office Associate walked the apartment. Paul made the comment that the apartment smelled clean, no negative remarks, and no checkout sheet. After the walk-thru we returned the keys and a receipt showing the carpet was professionally cleaned. On August 25, 2022, Pomona West Apartments provided an itemized list of deductions from our security deposit. Pomona West Apartments originally showed a deducted total of $890.00 (for carpet cleaning, 8 hours of kitchen cleaning, and replaced blinds) from our $2,700.00 security deposit. After these deductions of $890.00 from our $2,700.00 security deposit, the itemized statement showed the original security deposit return total of $1,810.00. On August 25, 2022, we emailed the Pomona West Apartments to dispute the carpet cleaning ($200.00) and eight (8) hours of kitchen cleaning ($400.00) deductions from our security deposit. Later, we also questioned the kitchen blinds ($40.00) as our video shows the blinds intact and appeared unbroken. We also requested receipts of actual costs incurred but none have been provided. California Civil Code Section 1950.5(g)(2) states along with the itemized statement, the landlord shall also include copies of documents showing charges incurred and deducted by the landlords to repair or clean the premises. The "documents" should include the hourly rate, specific work performed, hours spent, and documentation of expenses invoices, bill, or receipt. The landlord must prove that the hourly rate, time, spent, and work done was all "reasonable." We have emailed the video on several occasions to the Pomona West Apartments Management Office to show how cleaned we left the apartment. If you clean your own apartment, we recommend that you take a video and ensure you get a checkout sheet showing results of cleanliness and anything that needs fixing. Because based on emails received, Pomona West Apartments will blame their lack of communications for any misunderstanding. Initially, the Management Office agreed to reimburse the cleaning carpet charge ($200.00) and they requested that we change our review on Yelp. On August 31, 2022, Jason another Pomona West Apartments Management Office Associate proposed a counteroffer to mine for the reimbursement of the carpet cleaning ($200.00) and a portion for the kitchen cleaning ($100.00 out of the $400.00). On September 1, 2022, we agreed to the above-mentioned counteroffer for the carpet cleaning ($200.00) and a portion for the kitchen cleaning ($100.00 out of the $400.00). On September 8, 2022, I emailed Pomona West Apartments to remind them that they had not returned our security deposit. And that according to California Civil Code Section 1950.5 which states that after tenancy is terminated, a landlord has 21 days to return the tenant's security deposit. On September 16, 2022, Pomona West Apartments returned $1,860.00 out of $2,700.00 of our security deposit. I want to make clear this was over the 21 days from August 5, 2022, the day we moved out. So, not only did Pomona West Apartments violate California Civil Code 1950.5, they also did not live up to their counteroffer in reimbursing the carpet cleaning ($200.00) and a portion for the kitchen cleaning ($100.00 out of the $400.00). The security deposit return should have been $1,810.00 (original return on itemized statement) and the $300.00 (counteroffer by Pomona West Apartments) for a total of $2,110.00, but instead Pomona West Apartments return was $1,860.00 with no explanation and no receipts for actual costs incurred. We have reported Pomona West Apartments with the Better Business Bureau Sacramento and the CA Attorney General's Office. Next step is to file in small claims court for their California Civil Code violations and breach of agreement to reimburse the carpet cleaning ($200.00) and a portion for the kitchen cleaning ($100.00 out of the $400.00). I stongly don't recommend Pomona West Apartments to any parent (for their student), student, or anyone for that matter. Look elsewhere. read more

Our daughter lived at Pomona West for one year. She had a wonderful experience. This place is beautifully kept, great landscaping, a pool, and nice apartments. It is a friendly environment and everyone in the office was always great to work with. We had great experiences with Perry, Timothy, John, Aiden, and Karin. Pomona west has been such a great experience for the past three years! They have different rental options from unfurnished to furnished. My group and I decided to do a group lease which resulted in a cheaper option, along with the fully furnished apartment the move was very easy and manageable. All the furniture we received was brand new and some was used but in great condition! Something that I really liked was having dryers in the unit and the different amenities from the dog park to the pool and always felt safe since it was a gated community! Pomona west is the worst place I have lived. The owner/manager has a pack of free range dogs (german shepherds, rottweiler, etc.) who are known to bite. I have to settle them down and shoo them away UPON ENTERING AND EXITING MY APARTMENT NEARLY EVER-TIME. I feel incredibly unsafe and would never recommend this complex to anyone. The pictures online look beautiful and enticing but the reality is sad and unkept w overflowing dumpsters. Rent is insane expensive for what it is, upon moving in our washer, microwave, and ac unit did not work. There were also beer cans scattered under the furniture and burn marks on the carpet ? Management can't be bothered to respond! I hope anyone who reads this or anything else on here decides against Pomona West, I wish I had looked at more yelp reviews upon moving in :( read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! In my time at Pomona West apartments I experienced the most unprofessional management I have ever encountered. There is an apparent lack of communication between staff members and it really seems like no one ever knows what's going on or how to do their job. They claim to have roommate matching and so many other wonderful things, but it is just a front for an overpriced and crappy complex. I was placed in a unit with one other female who had been living there for multiple years. She had various animals (I was told she had 2 cats only) that she did not clean up after, and the filth of this apartment was unlike anything I had seen (overflowing litter boxes, mold all over dishes in the kitchen, no where to walk without tripping over her things, and a horrible smell.) Pomona west told me it would be clean upon my move in-it was not. When 2 other roommates moved in we had to fight for months to have her removed, and the apartment complex still refused to clean or repair anything after she left. I had to beg for days to have her carpets cleaned so I could move my things in, as I was taking over her room. I ended up having to clean the carpets myself because the person they "hired" spent 5 mins and made it smell worse. When I moved out, the management attempted to keep my entire deposit and charged me almost $600 for carpet cleaning in a 10x15 single room. I even deep cleaned them again after I left, leaving the room in better condition than which it was given to me. After moving out over a month and a half ago I still did not receive my deposit, until I sent a letter threatening to bring them to court. They gave me only $300 and have refused to send over the rest or an accurate itemized invoice. The owner Karen also lets her aggressive dogs roam around the complex all day, and failed to keep them contained after I told her multiple times they attacked my dog and myself. She simply responded with "my dogs aren't aggressive and wouldn't do that". The gates are also broken a lot of the time, which is scary for how much crime is in that bad neighborhood. These "luxury" apartments are completely overpriced and a scam. Save your time and money and rent somewhere else, I would definitely go back and do it differently if I could! My roommates and I were excited to move here until the first day when we walked in and the overwhelming stench of urine overwhelmed us to the point of giving back a lot of furniture to try to decrease the smell. The apartment was not ready on move-in day two bedrooms were locked and inaccessible for more than a week. The carpet was disgusting and turned our socks black. obviously, the apartment had not been cleaned. Mold developed in both bathrooms and was "fixed" twice but continued to return. MOLD TEST WAS POSITIVE and they refused to let us leave early. ROACHES kept popping and we were ignored and told we "complained too much" Management was the most disrespectful I've met in my life and blatantly insulted and lied to all of our's and our parent's faces. Pomona West is horribly managed and their payment system is completely messed up. You can never get an accurate number when asking how much you owe throughout the year. They took our entire security deposit in 'damages', which were never explained, and cleaning fees. The management I've seen here is some of the worst I've seen in Chico and is an embarrassment to the community and a trap for college students. If I could rate this lower I would. These apartments would be great if it had a different managing staff... They don't really care to accommodate you if you have any "invisible" disability under the ADA, and once you move out because you can't get ahold of management ever, they then start to ignore you. Once they give you your deposit back, it's a fraudulent check. BEWARE OF KAREN. She hangs up on you or doesn't even answer when she knows your number, only suggests things that you have already said don't work, and she just straight up unprofessional. I currently live at Pomona West Apartments. The idea of this complex is great. Large rooms, roommate matching, closed gates at night, washer/dryer in every apartment. Also, leases are separate which is a huge bonus. These are all things that I was looking for in an apartment. When looking for an apartment, it was an easy choice to pick Pomona. However, after living there for 5 months now, my feeling have changed. Like I said, the idea of this apartment complex is great. Currently, they are not meeting everything they claim to offer, as well as simply lagging in certain areas. This is the review I wish I could have read before moving in here. When I first received my apartment, it was a mess. Was not cleaned whatsoever before it was given to us. Washer broke within the first two weeks of moving in. Took almost a whole month for them to replace it. This was not without them blaming us for breaking it. Another problem here is the responsiveness of the employees. If there is an issue or something broken, don't plan on being in a hurry to get the issue resolved. Also, there is technically nothing is the lease about no smoking in the apartment. So, if you get placed with a person who does smoke, even though you put on your roommate matching form that you are a non-smoker, then too bad for you. I really want to like this place. It has the potential to be a great apartment complex. Very nice landscaping and grounds. Pool is small but a nice feature. Basketball half court is also cool to have. I especially like the washer and dryer in every apartment. It is all college students, and they try their best to be college friendly. It is an easy bike ride or drive to campus. I would say that it is very close. They are currently under new management, so maybe things will change. So far, things have no changed at all. If things begin to change I will update this review. Rental deposit definition-Landlords are permitted to deduct from security deposits for damage or excessive filth, but in our case Pomona West deducted cleaning fees when the cleaning company said the apartment was very clean. This is a case where the apartment management is unnecessarily charging cleaning fees. Upon our departure, we had schedule an appointment for a walk thru. Even though we had an appointment, apartment management did not show up. As a result, they did not refund all of our deposit because of extra cleaning. Why? I have asked for proof of why additional cleaning needed to be done. As of today, I have not receive any response from the Landlord. Word of advise, be sure you "Follow your cleaning checklist to the letter" and take pictures of everything (including fans, windows, blinds, etc.). Since there is no verification process, they may try to stick you with unsubstantiated charges. read more

Im actually really shocked that all the previous reviews were all so negative.. As I was prepping to move to chico I had absolutely no expectation to move into a place with roommates. I have had bad experiences in the past and was ready to just live by myself... but then i randomly found pomona west... I LOVED LIVING AT POMONA WEST! 1.) Separate leases: this was such a huge plus for me. I have been screwed over by roommates every single year of living away from home and i was sick of being stuck paying someone else rent.. having the benefit of separate leases allows you to be responsible for only yourself, as it should be! If someone doesnt pay rent, its not on you. if someone moves out, it doesnt affect you. if someone destroys their room, they dont take it out of your security deposit. 2.) 4 bedrooms, 4 people: everyone got their own bedroom and they were all really generously spacious. and there are 2 bathrooms and HUGE! 3.) Washer & Dryer INSIDE each unit!!! Such a huge POSITIVE! that was the most luxurious thing to have your own washer and dryer. not having to go to a laundry mat, or go into a scary basement, or walk outside in the cold across an apartment complex to maybe get a washer. I could go on and on... I loved living there, I had no idea who my roommates were but 2 years later and im still living with them! They did such a good job! Maintainance was fast to respond and i loved the management there. Sound was never an issue, so we could always party as loud as we wanted without any consequence. Theres a pool and basketball courts and bbq's. Theyre pet friendly, which makes the whole complex just feel more like home. I RECOMMEND POMONA WEST. read more

I downloaded the yelp app and creating this account just so I can leave this review. I am a current resident at Pomona West and have been for the last year from the start I could tell that the management was poorly managed. First off the kids running the office are no older than 25 years, and have complete lack of any management skills. Upon issue a notice is the tenants they are unable to answer any questions and have actually lost multiple rent checks of ours causing us talk to waste our time pulling up our bank statements and proving to them that they made the error. Supposedly there is new management by the last managers we're so disorganized that I believe it will just carry over to this management. Another unprofessional aspect I encountered with them was when they shared my roommates personal rental information with me telling me whether or not he had paid or if he was late, telling me it was my responsibility to figure it out. Honestly I was not surprised at the answer as it was from a young kid who doesn't know what he's talking about each person in this apartment is on a separate lease yet they believe that we are all responsible for each other's payments. I highly recommend you ask lots of questions to the management and judge a book by its cover as long as that sounds because if you see the kids managing the place you will realize things get out of hand very quickly. read more

I've had a very pleasant experience at Pomona West. The apartments really are very spacious and the grounds are beautiful! I love the separation of the buildings, it's so much better than being cramped together in a straight line like so many other apartment complex's in Chico. I was hesitant at first when I read the previous reviews, however my own experience was different. It seems as though they've really picked things up. I got the sense that the office staff really was trying to run smoothly. They were always nice and courteous to me. Overall I would recommend this place to others that need a place to live. AVOID AT ALL COST! These people are nothing but a preying bunch of deposit sucking vampires. Let me give you a run down on this awesome experice of third world living! 1. All we had was normal wear and tear when the carpets already stink when we moved in from who knows how many dogs squatting on them and now you wanna charge me for the replacement? Gimme a break. 2. Trying to peer through the windows all the time, especially friday nights when girls are over. I wouldn't be surprised if they reversed the peepholes just to get a free show. 3. The parking area is completely out of control. I think the hookers doing tricks there day and night give the owners a cut not to mention, "Freebies" to keep there operation afloat. 4. The crime is completely ridiculous. I had a flat tire and was in the process of changing it and had to go upstairs to use the bathroom, came back outside and the supposed ice cream truck stole my other three tires. How do I know it was him you ask? Well when your car is up on empty chocolate chip mint 5 gallon buckets, I'm not saying OJ did it. 5. The upstairs people were trying to grow rice in there closet. It collapsed from there little 3x3 flood irrigation experiment. And they wanna complain I brought a water bed on the premises. I came here to get an honest education and was met with hostility and total slumlord mentality. I'd rather live under an overpass than to experience what my mind can't erase. read more

My time at PW was pretty great. I enjoyed my time there (junior yr), and found the staff to be helpful and friendly. I never met the lady the others have referred to, so perhaps she has given control to somebody else. Anyway, the apartments are nice & big, and the double sinks are a bonus since not everybody in college is, well, hygienic. The washer & dryer were also nice to have. The pool was nice and clean; I didn't feel like I was swimming in a cesspool or anything, and there were always lots of lovely ladies hanging out there ;) A hot tub would be nice...hint, hint. Upon moving out they kept my dog deposit, but then again my dog chewed the buh-geezus out of the carpet one day while I was gone; it happens. Other than that it was minor stuff like carpet cleaning, but I didn't feel unjustly overcharged. I'm pretty clean and don't tend to break things so that may have helped me out..... Oh yeah, maintenance: nice guys, fast enough for most stuff. All in all it's a decent apartment complex, but it could be a little closer to campus. read more

I asked to not live with guys and she moved a guy into my apartment a few months later, saying that she did not have to follow my roommate preferences. Id give -10 stars if I could. Do not get a unit here. And think twice before giving a deposit because you will not get it back under any circumstances. They were unable to find us a unit one month before classes started in the fall. We needed housing security so we called asking if we could get our deposit back, and were told we could come back to collect it. We fixed an appointment and made the two hour drive to come here, arrived early and then waited for an entire hour and 15 minutes past the appointment time for them to tell us they cant give it to us! Karin was so rude she had my mom in tears and pedro was so dismissive even though he was the one who called us to let us know we could come collect the deposit. He later explained he figured he could get it back but couldn't! I don't understand why he didnt just tell us that from the start! We were waiting there because people kept telling us they were working on the check. They literally do not know customer service and I regret ever stepping foot into this place, they are so eager to take your money but as soon as karin gets it she will sink her teeth in and not let go and if they're reading this all I have to say is take that check and shove it up, you know where; or better yet use it to buy a better personality and maybe some compassion and then you can deem yourselves fit to engage in customer service read more

This place is awful. Someone broke into my room and when i told management , they told me that my roommates and i complain too much!!!! And when i asked them to replace my screen after the break in they told me it would be done the next day, safe to say its almost two weeks later, and its still broken!!!! our fridge leaks, our dryer burns, our clothes, and the oven burns almost every meal we have attempted to make. They have awful customer service and never follow through with any of their promises. I would not recommend anyone living here. My bike was stolen 2 days after i moved in and their so called cameras just happened to not be on when it happened??? kind of fishy to me....plus all that money they charge you for clean up when you move out is NOT being put to good use. The complex management IS horrible. I've never wrote a yelp review but this is how bad my experience with them has been that I was motivated to let potential residence who are considering to live here. Unfortunately I already referred someone to living here because it is a nice complex but the management is something else. The people they hire to babysit their office don't know anything about apartment management or let alone what their job is. I can explain all the disappointing and unbelievable incidences if I had to in court. But I'll only mention my most recent encounter. I came in the office asking information about a certain process that I was considering to do and the people working could not help they looked like lost children trying to find their parent to help. Not to mention all the profanity and swear words they were saying. I wasn't really tripping because I cuss like a sailor but in those situations I expect some formal speaking and professionalism. I did not see that instead I saw this guy (who acted like he was the one in charge) staring dead at my cleavage while informing me of the process I wanted to know about. It sounded a lot more like bullshitting but I mean he gave me some information I could of found myself. So I felt as if I wasted my time and instead was sexually harassed by this dude who proceeded to just stare at my body from the moment I came in to when I left their office. I always go to them for issues or information I may need but as the time I been living here I just become more hesitant because these incidences just remind me that they don't really care and are serious about their tenants. It's a selfish business they have and it has nothing to do with the customers. I'm an example of many who often don't renew their lease because they realize it gets too expensive and theres not really any other reasons to live here once you see the true colors of Pomona west. I am disappointed that I found out today if you were to refer a friend you would get $100 and that notice was a week late for me because I referred my close friend to submit her lease ASAP. I referred her because I know I am going to miss my apartment since it was my first and I fell in love with the space and times we had. I wanted to refer a friend I know to live there who was contemplating on a number of apartments and after begging her that she should chose this place, she signed her lease and told me. I mean like $100 got me excited because I did refer my friend and that would of been the least good thing the management could ever do for me but that doesn't matter. I will most likely write another review when I don't receive my security deposit(I hear this a lot from people who leave) even though I came to the office and was guaranteed I would and told the amount they deduct for cleaning. Pomona West has been a pretty great complex to live at as a college student. The staff is really friendly, and the individual leases + allowed pets is a nice plus. The units are nice, spacious, and have great washers and dryers. It can be a bit pricey depending on the unit you get, but other than that, the layout of the complex and the surrounding gates make it worth it. Would definitely recommend to friends looking for a secluded and fun area. read more

I live at Pomona West Apartments. This complex is great. Huge rooms, large living rooms, kitchen, closed gates at night, washer/dryer in every apartment. Also, leases are separate which is amazing. These are all things that I was looking for in an apartment. I love living here at Pomona west, their prices are great for what they offer. My apartment is right next to the pool and the basketball court which is awesome because I'm never bored. Also, they were the only apartment complex that was cool with me having a large dog. It's a great complex for pets because of the large landscape and their dog park. My puppy made so many new friends at Pomona west. It really feels like home. read more

Do NOT Rent From These People. Unethical, unprofessional and do not follow California Law when it comes to returning depositis and sending explanation of charges. Owner has students answering the calls, she will not talk to anyone. Parents, please think twice about letting your students move in here. If money is no object and you dont care about getting any deposit back or being billed twice for rent and utilities, then go for it. If you don't mind slow repairs, then go for it. BAD, BAD people. Daughter gave them a January rent check (postdated) before leaving for the holiday and told then to hold until January1. They put in the next day saying they do not hold checks. It would have been better if we had mailed up to them late. Please think twice, reporting them to every agency I can think of to protect others. read more

Pomona West isn't as nice as it seems. Don't live here. It's not worth it. At the end of your least they send you a bill. They charge you for every maintenance request you ask them to do, they charge for repainting the whole apartment. There's this cleaning lady that comes in before your lease is up. She tells you it's free, but you're charged for it at the end. If you live with someone that has pets they will charge you for the damage that's done from that pet. It's really horrible. I really hope they go out of business because they have the worst management in Chico. read more

Great management and the owner Karin is amazing! I recommend at least checking this place out if you are looking for a nice and quiet place to live near Chico State or Butte College! The biggest plus is that it is very PET FRIENDLY so you can bring your cat or dog to live with you! read more

The managers are the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL people I have ever met. They promise things (new floors, new counters etc.) to replace broken and torn up stuff but they never follow through with these promises! But the best part is that when you try to move out they try to charge you for all the damages that were there before that they said they would replace. They charge you for the carpet cleaning but the carpets DO NOT GET CLEANED!!! They show you "receipts" for this "carpet cleaning" but it's totally bogus. The apartment was completely filthy when I moved in, down to there was still pee on the ground in the bathroom from the previous tenants. I've never seen a home so disgusting. There was a problem with car break-ins on my side of the complex and they did nothing about it. They have "security cameras" around the complex yet they would not show us the videos of the cars getting broken into.....seems fishy right' I would never recommend anyone to live there! Worst apartments in Chico! *I'm posting my review on every type of place you can review this horrid complex because it was really THAT AWFUL living there. Seriously, don't do it. read more

I came into Pomona thinking it was going to be great. Just like their slogan "expect nothing less than Pomona West". I was told there would be roommate matching, better internet, and that if we didn't like a roommate we could switch him out. A year later and not only have they not upgraded the internet, they are going to have a worse one/ or none at all and still charge the same price. I have disliked one of my roommates from the beginning, he smokes; I have asthma and I hate the smell. He doesn't clean up after himself and we have an ongoing war with the thermostat. One morning I woke up and found out our oven was on. After asking my roommates if they made breakfast in the oven and them telling me no, I came to the conclusion that it was on by itself while the switch was set to off. I called the emergency line and was told that it wasn't an emergency and they would get to it later. I had to then wait for the office person who didn't come in on time and tell them that it was dangerous to have that on and they had to call the maintenance and have them finally turn it off. I have been lied to numerously at this place. Every time there is an issue, there is a new person in the office who doesn't know anything and the owner is never there. My security deposit was full of bogus charges (carpet cleaning when I was still living there) and other cleaning and repairing charges. Please do not do business with these people. They never learn from their mistakes and don't care how they treat their customers. read more
