Pompi is my very favorite place but however quality is going down a bit. Still the best tiramisù that I know in Rome.

The mouth watering cheesecake that you'll want more of!

Oh my goodness....once we found this place we came back several days in a row for more! We had gelato, tiramisu, cheesecakes, and more...three of us shared bites so we could get a taste of all the different goodies they had to offer. We were quite pleased with it all, but would say the cheesecake was a top winner.

Romans come here... Real, sure nuff, 200% Romans. That said, I was with my Roman friend & we wanted a little treat so she guided us here. Good stuff. There's seating inside & out (ample) & this is the original location too. Service was prompt with a smile & they immediately offered to help with suggestions... As we are both well versed in Italian sweets, there was no need. We ordered the original tiramisu (recommended) & the pistachio version. We also ordered some rum babà for me (I have a lil problem refusing these). Every bite was delicious. The atmosphere was cool & quiet. I really do recommend Pompi if you are in this area with a sweet craving.

    Iced espresso and tiramisu. OMG

I am Tiramisuuuuu in love! Luckily for me, I stayed in San Giovanni which is a more residential non-touristy area just outside the ancient walls. In Rome, 3pm is not a slow time since locals seem to enjoy their food and drink for hours upon hours at all times of day. So I was lucky to nab an outdoor table and soak up the fall Roman sun. I normally don't care for tiramisu. But THIS tiramisu...oh god yes. Light and flaky and spongey all at the same time, and not overly sweet. I also ordered an iced coffee which, had I known was basically a cold espresso shot, I would have ordered differently. A classic American mistake ;) They also have gelato, cakes, pastries and lots of other goodies. Tons of seating indoors. Service is great also. SWEET.

We were craving Tiramisu after a long dinner with much wine involved and went round the corner to Pompi, way past midnight. It was very busy (a Friday night) but we could easily choose our Tiramisu - many different flavours available such as fragole (strawberry), pistachio or Classico for example - in a small cardboard box. I went for Classico and we had it right there in its small box with an espresso, at the counter standing up. Service is not overly friendly - but that is Rome -but efficient. I don't remember what the cost was but it was fine especially for what it was: a delectable, moist Tiramisu exactly as it should be. The right amount of mascarpone, biscuit fingers and chocolate with a hint of coffee - surprisingly delicious for a small cardboard box. Pompi is very popular with the younger crowd seeking a pick-me-up after some heavy drinking during weekends and I can understand why ;-) They offer brunch on weekends, and even though the interior is quite 70s we would give it a try.

I am on the fence about Pompi..... This is likely a 3.5 star review. It wasn't bad, but I just don't think I could justify the 4th star. This is the original location, near San Giovanni, which is more of a residential area than a tourist area. The cafe is filled with mostly locals. I'd say (depending on the weather), it's best to sit out front at one of the tables. Service was typical for Rome - decent. Not overly fast or friendly, but that was expected. They had no wifi, which I found strange for such a chain. I had a glass of brachetto and the banana, dark chocolate and nutella tiramisu. It definitely lived up to the hype - it was really good. However, it wasn't so mind blowing that we returned, and it was right down the street from my friend's apartment. There are just far too many other places that can do the same thing (and I am not a huge sweets eater).

Award Winning Tiramisu! It may be off the beaten path, but it's the only place in Rome that serves the most delicious Tiramisu. The history speaks for itself, and once you try it, I'm confident that you will agree. The staff is not friendly; I felt rushed while placing our order. Once you get your delicious desserts, nothing else matters. Take your sweet time to savor every bite and be one with this extraordinary experience!

If you want to eat the famous tiramisu they have it gere in different flavours. Classic, strawberry, pistach, or banana. It was so good, but the fact tgat I gave this place only 3 stars is for the noncozy environment. You had to drink your coffe standing, and the staff was very arogant. Loud and messy. The toilets were bouth broken...

Loved my strawberry Tiramisu and my husband loved his classic Tiramisu. They have a happy hour buffet started at 6:30 pm.

Love all the deserts especially the strawberry Tiramisu. Happy hour buffet starts at 6:30 pm and they stay open until about 1:30 pm for late night cravings!! This is a must try when in Rome.

Tiramisu was the best tiramisu I have ever tried. I also ordered 1000 sfoglie which was was even better. I also ordered Gelato, but, it was quite good.

Good tiramisu. Actually it's really good. The classic and strawberry are both great! Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. There's no rush to eat and leave. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for something sweet!

It's a little confusing. You want to go to the counter and order based on what you see. But instead you sit at the tables and wait for someone to come take your order. The pastries were good. Not the most amazing I've ever had, but good. Avoid the macarons.

Known as the kingdom of tiramisu!! The original location is near San Giovanni. It is better than the new franchise that popped up near the Spanish Steps. I recommend the original tiramisu. Don't be lured in by the special flavors available on the menu. Some desserts are best without extra bells and whistles!!! They sell gelato and other desserts, but come here for the tiramisu!!

Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.

Delicious and creamy filling with crispy shells. So so good! Love the large size too. Chocolate Chip Cannoli was the best thing here! Balance of the chocolate chips and the ricotta filling with the shell was perfect. The mini ones were perfect for trying out different flavors. Husband tried the classic, chocolate chips and pistachio. Also got the Pistachio Lover. I think this was a bit too sweet.
