I was a guest of a member during the 18-inch snow storm, so I wore my $500 dollar suede Danner lights (Made in the USA) to manage the snow. Upon entry, I was informed by the staff that, due to the suede being too light, it looked too much like Timberland boots, which are banned. I was professionally whisked to a backroom, where I was offered to wear black loafers 3 sizes too large if I wanted to make my appointment. I spent the rest of my time skipping through the venue in order to not trip over myself, wearing massively oversized shoes. I would have been okay with this footwear restriction if it was universally enforced, but there were plenty of people in the club wearing duck boots, metal hook leather hiking boots, and even the same type of boots of a slightly darker shade. Apparently, the shoe shade restriction was not something members are aware about (the no sneakers restriction is well known). I have previously been a guest here with positive experiences. However, today I was put in an illogically unsafe experience, forced to wear loaner shoes 3 sizes too large, because $500 lighter suede boots are deemed less classy than duck boots for being too"Timberland like" during a snow storm.

I joined this gym in January and its the best investment I've made this year, im a shitty day trader so thats not saying much. The Yoga studios are so peaceful and the instructors are all masters. Luliias voice is so soothing and her classes are so fun, the Friday class specially feels like everyone is connected Gigis class is super cool on Sundays it should be renamed Juicy Yoga with Gigi lol, shes so funny and connects with everyone, the class feels like cuddles after sex. Spin with Juggy and Melora is elite. Ive gotten so much faster in my road bike after just a few classes. Functional training with Nyerre Mays is un-unreal. He is such a cool dude and such a Pro. The pool is epic, the Jacuzzi forget about it. The entire staff is super friendly and makes everyone feel super welcomed. I truly feel at home whenever I make it to the gym. The MVPs of the gym are the cleaning staff though, everything is so spotless all the time. In a city so chaotic is nice to have this peaceful oasis.

I visited prior to joining as I have been a member of other prestigious gyms and spas in the past. Equinox has multiple levels of membership, and I recommend the Destination membership. It gives you access to Equinox gyms around the country! This is perfect for individuals who travel for work or leisure. Next, I would like to address the cost of membership. Membership will cost between $300-$400 per month. At first you may think, 'wow, this is expensive.' However, I did an analysis of multiple gyms! Let's examine the cost of other NYC hot spots. Other gyms offer power lifting as a main source of workout and charge over $200 per month. Some pilates studios offer training classes for approximately $180 per month. There are yoga studios across New York that average $169-$200 a month. There are gyms centered around group classes that cost an average of $220-275 per month. Swim club fitness average $180-250 per month. If you joined multiple gyms to meet your fitness needs, you would be spending over $1000 per month. WOW. This is why I joined Equinox! Your membership includes weight lifting options, cycle fit classes, yoga classes, pilates classes, core strengthing classes, HIIT training, persoal training, nutrition coaching, massage therapy from licensed massage therapists, an AMAZING spa, ViPR--an incredible workout that engages your core, improves flexibility, and builds strength and power! (Its wonderful). Furthermore, this location has a beautiful pool with city views! You can lap swim, take swimming classes, and have personal swim coaching. Equinox is a powerful place to be a part of. 160 Columbus even has an outdoor track with beautiful views of the City as you improve your cardio strength and endurance. Furthermore, the gym has a boxing arena/room! I can not think of a better place to be a part of a gym that offers 10 gym services all in one place! There is nothing that beats the quality of this type of membership. $1000 or $300-400 for all of your fitness needs. You decide! I LOVE Equinox at 160 Columbus Ave. The vibe is laid back yet professional and courteous. The concierge offers excellent services. I highly recommend Equinox. PM me, and I would be happy to give you a referral! There is a current incentive that you do not want to miss if you want to join Equinox! I can't wait to hear from you if you have questions about Equinox. Join. Strengthen. Enjoy! Tell Equinox, Lauren Lindsay sent you! I can not wait to hear from you and help you through the membership process!

Does the manager hire these kids out of a special needs high school? Each and every one of them is always on their phone texting and not paying attention when people enter the gym (which - let's be honest - is really their only function). I wish I could record it - these children NEVER check anyone's IDs and I know for a fact that dozens of people sneak into the gym every day. What am I even paying a membership for? I always have to wave my phone in front of their face when I come in so they scan it and my visit will be registered in the app. Why are they always too busy to scan it on their own? Why do I need to remind them to be doing their jobs? And worst of all, every single one of the children working here is RUDE and ENTITLED. They never say good night to the guests and they are always just gossiping amongst themselves. This is a JOB. THEY ARE BEING PAID TO WORK NOT TO STAND AROUND IGNORING GUESTS. IF I OWNED THIS PLACE I WOULD HIRE ALL NEW STAFF AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY SCAN EVERY GUESTS' ID AND THEY SAY HELLO AND GOOD BYE EVERY DAY. IT IS NOT THAT HARD. For $400 a month, you would think they would do that. But then again, this is a company that just lost $40M in a class action settlement. What else do you expect. Nitwits.

You can access this from an elevator from the hotel, or there is another street entrance where the juice bar is downstairs, and you access this through separate elevator banks where you pass by their shop to make your way towards the lobby. This main floor includes the locker rooms, shop, check-in, and a beautiful lobby area with a long workstation table and some comfortable couches. The fitness floor is in an extended L-shape that spans the perimeter, and allows in a lot of natural light. Up the flight of stairs near the locker rooms is where the studios were (yoga, pilates, group fitness) along with Broken Coconut and of course, the pools, indoors and out. The spa is also accessible from this second level, however there was one entry that didn't permit members which was a little frustrating. I'm not a hardcore workout enthusiast, so I cannot go on about equipment, etc. However, the treadmills and stretching areas were fine, so I won't complain about any of that. Since there was a great shower upstairs, I didn't use the ones in the locker rooms. This location is a Destination one, and that breaks down into whether you are grandfathered in, or if your membership states 'Destination HY' if you've joined after a certain time since Equinox changes the names of the membership tiers ever so slightly (especially the cost difference). If you're already this status, give them a try just to say you worked out at the flagship, but if you're not, the day fee will be worthy for all they have to offer.

Very disappointed with my experience at Equinox. After declining assistance from this particular…read moretrainer multiple times, he continued insisting on giving me a complimentary training session. During that session, I was guided through an exercise I had never performed before using weight that was clearly too heavy while my form was incorrect throughout the movement. As a result, I experienced ongoing shoulder and neck pain for weeks, required medical evaluation and a physiotherapy referral, and missed multiple days of work. What was even more frustrating was the communication afterward. In text messages, rather than taking accountability, the trainer suggested that I should have spoken up if the weight was too heavy, despite the fact that he was the professional leading the exercise and letting me continue without correcting my form during the session. I reported the incident immediately and provided documentation to management, but Equinox ultimately denied responsibility and refused to assist with any medical-related costs. For a gym that markets itself as a premium fitness experience, I expected a much higher standard of safety, professionalism, and accountability

We both live in Flushing near Main St., so NYISC was a perfect place for us to travel to. The club inside was spacious and clean. Some of the staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and gave us a thorough and in-depth description of all the membership services and fees for ping pong games/coaching. The actual tables are professional-grade, and there are actually plenty of them spread throughout an enormous indoor facility. I liked the feel of the high ceilings while I played (or at least ATTEMPTED to play haha). Even though this place was popular on a weeknight around 7-8pm, the size of the facility didn't make me feel cramped. Checking out the rest of NYISC, I saw an indoor soccer field - which is a rare sight in a place such as Flushing. I don't play soccer, but I would recommend this space for soccer teams and friends looking to play a match or serious game. My boyfriend and I also wandered to the 'Pro Shop' in the sports club. They sold all different professional ping pong products from brands such as Butterfly (famous ping pong product manufacturer). We didn't purchase anything, but I did sign up for private lessons with one of the renowned & accomplished coaches. The pricing was for a set of 10 lessons and were more than affordable. The coaches were all world ranked, and have competed in Olympics, etc. Maybe one day I'll be able to at least keep up in a game with my boyfriend, lol. LAST THING: People here are very open and friendly. If you come on a weeknight like us or a weekend, there will always be staff to help you and fellow players/students to meet/interact with :) One person saw my extreme lack of ping-pong skills and kindly helped me out a bit the first time I came to NYISC -___- lols I will definitely be returning
