I will say I expected it to be a little larger but all the exhibits were interesting. There are small placards with descriptions and informative blurbs for a lot of the pieces so if you have the time and the interest you could spend an hour here reading through the museum. If you're just browsing through the works it'll be a quick 30 minute tour. It was $20 a head for adults. I think the favorite exhibit for me was all the museum quality animal skull recreations and fossils with an emphasis on pre-historic animals.

This day there was some sort of water main break and the whole mall didn't have running water so no restaurants were open & the bathrooms weren't running either. The hayrides and hainted houses were awful. We were rushed and no one enjoyed them. We were hopeful going into Erebus. We were absolutely shocked that they changed a lot of the entire walkthrough. We actually got scared a few times from people jumping out at us. They did get rid of the ballpit. However, if you are claustrophobit be warned there is an area you walk through that gets tight. My sister and others behind her were freaking out telling us to walk faster. It was actually a lot of fun. We picked up our t-shirts at the end. They had some cards for the escape room to get a discount. There was a sign that said "ask me how to save 50% off" for the escape room. They also have a little shop area for drinks and food. I got a blue raspberry slushie for $5. Overall, if you are looking to actually have a fun time I highly suggest Erebus because we were all impressed with the quality compared to the other haunted houses/hayrides we experienced this year.

It is a non-profit organization, always looking for a helping hand. They were closed the other day when I visited. This location is run solely by volunteers, and had no signs with hours of operation. Ah, but during my visit, a couple of the volunteers happened to stop by and gave me information about the organization. I took a brief walk around the well manicured grounds and found that they have a farm museum, carriage house, root cellar, smoke house, summer kitchen, school house and of course, the Wisner Mansion. While I was there, I shot a picture of the historical marker which is prominently displayed close to the roadway. Their next big event is an Ice Cream Social on 26 JUL 2014 and it promises to be a great time. Hours of operation are 11am - 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, library included. As time went by, and fewer people met the eligibility requirements, membership was opened to the descendants of pioneers and other residents of the county. Throughout the 19th and 20th century, the Society collected newspapers, books, photographs, manuscripts, and artifacts relating to Oakland County, and the collections were stored in the county courthouse in downtown Pontiac. In 1945 Pine Grove, the Pontiac homestead of Governor Moses Wisner, was purchased as a headquarters for the Society. In 1962 the organization was renamed the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society. As part of our mission, the Society continues to devote itself to the preservation of the history and culture of Oakland County, and to maintaining the Pine Grove estate.

It's randomly located in District 1 of GLC and right at one of the "corners" of the mall where I believe it used to be a Bed Bath & Beyond location or something, so it's one of the really big store spaces. It's a massive space and that meant plenty of room for all the different Friends exhibits! My friend and I went at 4:30 pm on a weekday and there was barely anyone there! I'm curious to know what this place looks like on the weekend as when we walked in, there were the line ropes in place that seemed to indicate they normally get long queue lines. I was glad for no lines though and just being able to take as much time throughout the experience as possible for my friend and I - it was such fun! All the workers are so friendly and there are so many photo ops! I would highly recommend taking as many pictures as you can with your own phone because the spots where photographers are taking your photos means at the end of the exhibits, once you get to the gift shop to view all your photos, you'll need to pay for one of their photo packages in order to get most of the photos you took inside the experience! The only photos they give you for free are the PIVOT couch ones, which let's be real...those are the best ones anyways, but still! But there are still plenty of photo ops where there is no professional camera/photographer ready to take your photos and just one of the employees waiting for you to hand them your phone to take photos, so it does balance out nicely! If you're a Friends fan, I just highly recommend you come here! It was so fun to be immersed in all the sets and I was giddy the whole time! Friends may be overrated given how overexposed it's been in recent years, but it was still so fun for me and so nostalgic as I remember watching this show as it aired LIVE growing up in my parent's home and then finding this show again when it came to Netflix over a decade after it finished airing! It's nostalgic and just so so delightful! I don't want to spoil it too much, but you basically get to see everything you probably have ever wanted to see! The opening theme song sequence set, Monica & Rachel's apartment, Joey & Chandler's apartment, the hallway between their two apartments, Central Perk, and so much more!!! Pay particular attention to all the signs they have as they fill you in on so much of the detail and background of Friends! At the end of the experience, you find yourself at the gift shop! It's cute and has some pretty unique items (like Monica's break up jam and a Central Perk coffee mug purse a la Loungefly) and this is where you can view your photos. Took us an hour and ten minutes to go through. I expected there to be a bit more there such as more quotes, reflections, or memoribilia from the show, actors, and those involved with the show. Many of the quotes on the walls were directly from the show. They did have a video from the costume designer and blurbs from the show writers. The timeline of relationships for the characters was very interesting!
