She was great and knowledgeable. Forward to today, I was pleasantly surprised to run into her as the owner of Bamboo Advanced Beauty College. I am looking for an advanced nail course since I got my nail license and haven't used it. The owner offered me a 10 week course three days a week from 10 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. for $2700K which includes my kit. I believe this is a great deal! When you walk into the school you'll see rows of manicuring tables and on the sides cosmetology chairs. Towards the back is skincare which features several tables for facials. But today, she took on the big task of transforming my hair, and let me tell you, she nailed it! Not only did I walk out with an incredible wash and blow-dry, but we also had the best conversations about kindness, culture, and all the things we have in common even though our backgrounds are different. When the woman answered the phone, all she said was "Hello?" She didn't announce where I was calling, and I had to ask/verify whether or not I'd even called the right place. I began to ask questions in regards to their program, and was still left with little information. I wanted to know the daily schedule for part time and full time requirements. I was told "Oh you just show up, and if you're full time you have to be here 40 hours, and part time only 24hrs..." Every other school I've contacted has set rules and attendance, and it seemed extremely odd to me that a legitimately schedule wasn't part of their program, or that she couldn't tell me this specific information. Overall, very unprofessional - and I question the aptitude of the students who complete whatever program it is they offer.

I have had baby highlights done before, and I have never had such an awful experience in my life. Unfortunately, the results looked almost exactly the same as my original color and even appeared darker in some areas. What made the experience more frustrating was that the instructor did not agree or acknowledge that the result was not what I had requested. As a customer, it's disappointing when your concerns are not taken seriously. I paid $120, and like everyone else, I work hard for my money. Now I have to go somewhere else and spend more to get this fixed. I truly had hoped to become a regular client here, but after this experience, I would not recommend this place to others.

The student today, Caren, listened carefully to what the issue was. We discussed options, she washed my hair and then I spent a wonderful hour talking with her while watching her giving me the coolest haircut - French Bob/ Wolf Cut/ 60's flip. If we didn't grasp something the first time, she would patiently go back and explain it again before moving forward. She never left anyone behind. Beyond her expertise, her kindness and compassion made such a difference. She created a safe, supportive environment where we all felt at home. In the esthetics program, she made us feel like family -- not just students. I graduated in April 2024, and to this day she is still my mentor. She has guided me through my business venture and continues to support me as I grow in this industry. Having her as a teacher, friend, and mentor has truly been a blessing. Any future esthetics students would be incredibly lucky to study under her. She is the kind of educator who truly cares about her students' success -- both inside and outside the classroom.
