She was great and knowledgeable. Forward to today, I was pleasantly surprised to run into her as the owner of Bamboo Advanced Beauty College. I am looking for an advanced nail course since I got my nail license and haven't used it. The owner offered me a 10 week course three days a week from 10 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. for $2700K which includes my kit. I believe this is a great deal! When you walk into the school you'll see rows of manicuring tables and on the sides cosmetology chairs. Towards the back is skincare which features several tables for facials. Located at the end of the strip center there seems to be plenty of parking on the side of the strip center. I look forward to my adventure with Bamboo and can't wait to get started!

The first time I…read morewent to her, she braided my hair and it was alright but I wanted it the way I'd shown her in pictures next time. The style I wanted was a long, wavy tree braid. She said no problem. The next time I went back she wasn't even there and her assistant did it. My hair was done even less the way I wanted even after showing pictures again but I figured the assistant was just less experienced. I kept returning because it was so hard to find an affordable braider in the area. The third and final time I went back Cynthia and the assistant were both there. I went over the style in detail AGAIN because I had my college senior photoshoot coming up that week. Cynthia said OK, we will have you looking beautiful. She then turns to her assistant and starts speaking to her in an African dialect I did not speak or understand. Her assistant then cuts all the hair I bought in half and starts braiding. Again, I assumed they knew what they were doing and said nothing. When we finished, the style was barely to my ears and just hideous. I was 22 years old and just smiled it off. I had never been in such a situation and didn't believe that someone would be so mean. Especially a grown, older Black woman and someone who was providing a service. I gaslight myself into thinking I explained the style wrong and the pictures didn't make sense. Obviously I never went back. A couple months later, Cynthia hits me up begging me to come back and states "I'm sorry, I'll do your hair how you want now!". Again, I had suspected she did my hair ugly on purpose but had never said anything and even pretended I was ok with the style. But that message confirmed everything. DO NOT GO HERE. Cynthia is malicious and doesn't listen to her clients. She also did not pay or underpaid her workers. She's a bully and it's no wonder her business never took off.

I just started getting my hair cut not too long ago, so I had some trouble trying to describe what I wanted but Josh was flexible and patient and made sure to check in about the style all throughout the cut. As a woman, I usually feel slightly intimidated going into barber shops that tend to be male-dominated spaces, but this place had great and welcoming energy, from the moment I walked in. But today, she took on the big task of transforming my hair, and let me tell you, she nailed it! Not only did I walk out with an incredible wash and blow-dry, but we also had the best conversations about kindness, culture, and all the things we have in common even though our backgrounds are different. Place is big and spacious unlike other places where your cramped to the person next to you. They have been open for a few weeks and the exterior is black with no signage so you can easily miss it. Beverlin was the one who did my daughter's haircut and took off the dead ends and left her hair more manageable. Riondra who specializes in braids/nails braided my daughter's hair. Diego is solid with his skills and did the brow split. Mrs. Rose walks and monitors the students as well as welcomes/departs. Ely was finishing up a color and customer was happy with the end result. I plan to come back for a facial and get my nail did.
