This is a great place that, so far, hasn't given me any reason to think twice about them. My dog Angel loves coming here for daycare or boarding. Issues I've had with a previous place have not repeated here and I've used them half a dozen times already. The staff has accommodated me in a pinch, boarding her without a heads up. Friendly over the phone too - the other place I mentioned rarely even answered. It's to the point where you get a star from me just for answering the phone. However, their system is indeed an imperfect one. The app is halfway useless unless you like looking at random pics of dogs or paying online. Other than that, the app is completely useless because you cannot reliably schedule boarding or daycare that way. I have used 3 different companies in 2 years and all three should change their names to "The Waitlist." Because the app is ideally designed to show you time availability via a meter. If a day is getting full, the meter fills, going red, and telling you there's probably no room for any more dogs that day. If the meter is green and low, ideally you should get space for that day. Easy enough. However, I have tried to schedule daycare and boarding using that method only to get waitlisted on days that claimed to have room. When I called to ask if I was using the system correctly, I was told the system wasn't accurate. And that makes it useless. So you should call instead. Just call them. So far, they at least answer the phone. One star for that. Because there's no reason to waste your time on a feature that doesn't work. Finally, as I said, I like this place very much, but experts have said very clearly to be wary of a place that does not allow an initial tour. Pooch Pad does not allow tours. I am very grateful for my dog Shelby's time she spent with the phenomenal staff at Pooch Pad. I traveled from Florida to the Cary/Raleigh area for Christmas and I needed a place to board Shelby at the last minute (as her mother and sister both have cats); and I originally booked her at another boarding company but realized it had bad reviews when I arrived in Cary. I cancelled the other boarding facility and quickly needed to find another place with better reviews. I called around to a ton of places on Christmas Eve before finally getting in touch with Pooch Pad and saw they had great reviews, and their ability to fit Shelby in after a cancellation on Christmas Eve was a lifesaver!!! I am really particular about places I would trust with watching Shelby, as I usually board her at my veterinarian's pet resort in Florida. Seeing Pooch Pad in person I saw that there is a good amount of team members working there and was not a small operation; and the staff's response times were top notch; the facility is really well cared for and very clean. You can tell this group of people truly cares about the safety and wellbeing of pets they care for. Thank you to Cat, Eden, and Cherokee who assisted me while Shelby was there. I selected this place because they were so highly rated, however my experience was different. When making an appointment I requested a grooming, with a cut, nail trim and bath. When on the phone with the lady, I asked for pricing and kept asking if that was the price for all the services and she reassured it was, after putting me on hold a couple of times. When arriving at the appointment I was explaining how I normally groomed him and she informs me that I wasn't there for a cut!!??!!?? She then stated that she had to get an approval for his immunization record. It clearly shows his record of all vaccines and when his next ones are due, he is only a year old and we has not missed an appointment or vaccination. Customer service was not the greatest. I let her know that this would be his first visit... no response, nothing to make us or our pup comfortable. The other employee that came out, didn't greet us or our pup. Just looked and walked away, no smile, good morning our anything. Needless to say we left because my daughters, no longer felt comfortable with how we were getting treated. The young lady did say that she didn't hear me say a cut...just a bath, which is fine. The whole attitude of the two employees threw the whole experience off. I don't think I would visit this place again. I honestly don't think they would care that much anyway! read more

My fur baby went for her regular grooming this week and I am posting to give a huge THANK YOU to Amari who was over-busy trying to check in a lobby full of doggies--we just happened to get there Wednesday at the time when it appeared 80% of the other doggies came to check-in. On the way in, we passed by what appeared to be two large and very angry dogs...and as we were waiting to be checked in, the lady came in with those two large barking dogs. I was afraid, my doggie was terrified as she had been attacked by a large dog about a year ago--I went to the counter and asked to be checked in ASAP. As rude as I may have seemed, I call it frightened, Amari the one checking us in and she was every bit the calm that we needed; I just wanted her to know how much I appreciated her help. She managed to help me, work around the new check-in system, and keep a smile on her face....oh, I should mention that I found that Amari had only been in that position for about a week. As for the big angry dogs...seems that they are really just big loud teddy bears who love to play!!! Sure fooled me, but so appreciative that Brandy (owner) took the time to call me, she listened to my concerns, and explained about the teddy bear dogs. read more

I decided to try this place out: good prices, closer to my job, and fb post to keep me updated on my pup. The first day I brought my dog here I was very pleased,staff seemed friendly and my dog seemed very exhausted like he had a full time of play even though I picked him up early at 1pm. I trusted this place and brought my dog here again for a longer period of time then the first day thinking he would be exhausted but I was wrong.. my pup acted like he had not been played with. I feel like I was ripped off and charged for play time my dog did not get. The staff didn't even seem to take the time to get to know me or know to get to know my dog- it seemed rushed. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place I would recommend going to a place that has camera that allow you to watch you dog thought out the day. read more

I brought my dogs in on a Monday afternoon for baths, nail trims, and brush outs. These are my thoughts and observations. - You can't get in through the front door without someone letting you in. I assume it's to prevent dogs from escaping. - All the services I needed were done on a walk-in basis. - The first time I stopped by I was told that I would only need bordetella boosters. Great, I did that. The second time I came in, the same woman told me I would need distemper boosters. Because of that I could only get 2 of my 3 dogs groomed. - They will refuse to service your dogs if they do not have 6 month boosters for bordetella, parvo, and distemper. They must also have rabies shots. - They have reasonable prices. - The staff I interacted with seemed friendly. - My dogs were finished in 4 hours. - They offered to help me take the dogs out to my vehicle. Overall, I wish the vaccination protocols were better explained to me the first time so I could avoid another trip to the vet, but I was pleased with the grooming service. read more

Shady money oriented people!! No petcams& you cannot see anything past door! They lie to your face & if you voice anything they will discontinue there services....just business! They don't truly care for your pets.. only if you have the $!!!!Your pet comes home thirsty & hungry! & may get some kennel cough...which they could care less. Your dog is a # ....keep your concerns to yourself & definitely don't tell the truth about some of there rude & demeaning staff! Bad business all the way round! They just have a front with all the pictures & pose like they love them! That's how they get you...but I promise they never loved mine...so do they really love yours! The way they mishandled me as a loyal paying customer....I cant say enough of how deceived I was in thinking these were even half decent people! I wish I could warn that it is a front! brandi and the entire staff are great with my dog. he's an older dog and can be grumpy at times with getting his nails done but they are so good with him. i have not used them for their doggie daycare but we did board with them as well and they are great. they are also playing it safe with their staff during covid and have the doors locked down. they greet you at your car and take the dog from there. they are doing many improvements to their facility as well. great place over all. i would recommend them and have to many. read more

We left our two Golden Retrievers at Pooch pad overnight and asked for them to be bathed and groomed. My boys came home smelling wonderful and looking great! They were happy tired from playing and getting lots of love. The staff was helpful and professional when dropping off and picking up even with the curbside service and a busy Saturday morning drop off they were on top of their game. I picked up my dog Calamity Jane from the Wake County SPCA a few weeks ago, and I had been counting down the days before she was ready to be bathed and groomed (just spayed, couldn't get incision wet for a while). She is a lab/golden retriever/chow chow mix and has very thick, long fur around her head/neck, on her legs and on her tail. Much of it was matted, her ears were filthy and she really smelled, but was too skiddish for me to bathe on my own. I brought Calamity to Pooch Pad and was extremely pleased with the service -- I was greeted by the co-owner who explained to me the process (she would be allowed to have free play before and after her "beauty treatments", and would be allowed to socialize and run free in the 6+ foot high fenced yard. She would be washed, fully "buzzed" to a short coat length, have her teeth brushed, nails clipped, anal glands expressed (ew but essential!) and be returned with a bandana. I was so pleased with the service, warmth toward me and my dog and skills of the groomer that I will DEFINITELY be back. As an added plus, when I went to pick up Ms. Jane I was greeted by 3 very polite, "professional" and just generally adorable children who helped me with the dog while I paid...always love little workers. A+ experience, so glad to have this gem right in FV! Also, in case you were wondering, it cost me $60 to have Calamity Jane groomed, and she is longish haired, was a mess (see above) and was allowed to hang (essentially an all-day daycare session) as an included bonus for being groomed. This is slightly cheaper than the groomer at Petsmart/Petco, and it was easier to make an appointment! read more

I think we have been taking our two dogs to the Pooch Pad for over a year now. They ALWAYS do a great job with the dogs and they are clean, happy, and tired when I pick them up. You can drop your dogs off in the morning and pick them up in the late afternoon. When they are not being bathed, they have free play both inside and outside. Their new facility is nothing short of AMAZING! It is huge and is meticulously clean. The dogs can play outside in their very large fenced area! The owners are equally amazing. It has always been hard for me to leave my dogs with other people, however, I never have a worry in the world when they are with Brandi and Ryanne. They love our dogs as much as we do! I have not yet met the new groomer(s) they hired but I am sure they are great! Please consider taking your fur babies here for grooming, boarding, and daycare...you will not be disappointed. read more

This is the best place we've ever taken any of our dogs for grooming, boarding, or doggy daycare. Their staff is always very kind and courteous. The owners truly care about your dog and make sure they take care of your dog exactly as you want. They have a large indoor play area as well as a very large outdoor area for dogs to play in. We've been using Pooch Pad Grooming for our dogs "forever"!!! And let me tell you, there is no where else I would take them. Our cocker spaniel is groomed monthly and the staff treats her like she is a princess. At 16 years old, she requires a little more attention and boy does she get it here. Our labs go for grooming and daycare, but their favorite is pool time during the summer! The facility is outstanding and the staff are Ah-MAZING!!! This place is legit! We dropped our dogs off here for a full week while we went away on vacation. As a nervous pup parent, it's difficult to let your pooch go for that long. However, I know they were in wonderful hands. If you have a pup that loves the water they have a pool for the swimmers! When we picked them up they were fully bathed and donned in bandanas. First time customer & I will not be back. Chose this groomer based on reviews but we did not have a positive experience. The "daycare" included with our grooming was scary for my medium sized dog. All other daycare dogs were very large, loud & aggressive dogs. We were greeted at the entrance to 1 worker who was also checking in 4-5 other dogs. Barking dogs were everywhere- coming from the back rooms & front lobby. The check in worker was not a groomer & could not answer my questions when we were discussing the cut & length desired during my dogs drop off. No groomer was available to speak with me. When I asked to see their facility to view where my dog would be kept all day, I was told they do not give tours, but I could view pictures on their Facebook page and would be able to see my dog throughout the day there. There were never any pics of my dog and I checked for a few days after for any posts. I picked my dog up after his cut & it did not look like any length had been taken off. When I asked to speak to the groomer on the cut, I was told "they could go shorter next time". My dogs whiskers were not trimmed and he still had goop in his eyes. Why would I come back? I wasted $50 on a cut that was nonexistent. Workers were rude. What is this business hiding that they won't allow a new customer to see their facility? read more
