We have been going to PVH since moving here 7 years ago. The care is exceptional. Our dog Koda is a Sr Lab and is cared for Dr Brown. He is so loving, honest and kind. We highly recommend Pooler VH. Prices are great as well. Thanks Dr Brown , Koda

We truly loved our experience here and they treated our pups with patience and care! We came in for an updated vaccine shot and we also got them a quick check up. My Pit Bull Mix can be difficult at times with his separation anxiety and anxiety in general but they handled him so well. My German Shepard is such a sweet girl and they treated her so well. We were very pleased to have found a place to take our pups!

My cocker spaniel, Honey, needed x-ray and blood work. She has a possible diagnosis of breast cancer. I have been taking her to Lo Cost Vet in South Savannah. They do not have x-ray machine. So Pooler Vet is working me in to perform that necessary task....Fingers crossed!

We are new to the area and our 10 year old lab was having sudden problems. I had called a few other places to see him but no one would help. We called here and they were absolutely going to help us. They were so kind and helpful. They did an emergency work up and sadly our boy was full of cancer, even though it was the worst news ever the vet was so kind and so straight forward and told us what was best for boy even though it was not what we wanted to hear. They brought him too us and let us say goodbye and let my husband stay with him until the end. They were so kind and did their best to make a horrible situation as humane as possible. I cannot thank them enough for helping us through this most difficult time and helping us realize we did not want our boy yo suffer. We will take our way there dog here and as long as we live here this will be our vet. Also, their facilities are amazing.

We've been going to Dr. Mike since we adopted our pup Bilbo. We've had nothing but great experiences with this practice : everyone from the reception to the doctors have been wonderful ! Especially a shoutout to the ladies manning the reception : they're knowledgeable and very helpful ! The hospital is located off US 80 in Bloomingdale overlooking decent sized front grounds . Inside, there are waiting areas on both sides of the reception with plenty of seating . There are 2 exam rooms. It's a busy practice so there is generally a bit of wait , but not too bad. Dr Mike and Myra are absolutely wonderful : they are gentle with our Bilbo and patient with all our crazy questions and fears . They provide us with the best possible solutions and do not suggest for medication or treatments unless absolutely necessary. They really care for each patient. Additionally, during these uncertain times of social distancing, they have started curbside service for essential services such as vaccination . They have been taking extra precautions and yet providing uncompromising service. Way to go the extra mile for your patients! I highly recommend Pooler vet for their outstanding service! Thankful that this wonderful practice is still open and taking care of our fur babies ! #ThankYouThursday

Here's a review you can copy and paste to leave for Godley Station Animal Hospital:…read more Exceptional Care, Compassion, and Professionalism Over the past five years, Godley Station Animal Hospital has been an important part of my dog Tango's life, and I cannot say enough good things about the incredible team there. Tango boarded at Godley Station several times over the years, and I always had complete confidence that he was safe, comfortable, and well cared for while he was there. The staff treated him like family, and that peace of mind meant a great deal to me. Throughout his life, Tango received his vaccinations, routine care, and medical treatment at the hospital. The doctors, technicians, and staff were always professional, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely caring. They never made us feel rushed and always took the time to answer questions and explain treatment options. A few weeks ago, we faced the heartbreaking reality of saying goodbye to Tango. The team at Godley Station helped guide us through one of the most painful experiences a pet owner can endure with compassion, dignity, and kindness. Their support during that difficult time meant more to our family than words can adequately express. Then, sometime later, we received a handwritten sympathy card signed by members of the staff along with Tango's paw and nose prints. It was such a thoughtful and deeply personal gesture that brought comfort during a very difficult season. In a world where so many interactions feel rushed and impersonal, this act of kindness stood out tremendously. Godley Station Animal Hospital isn't simply a veterinary clinic; they are a group of caring professionals who genuinely love animals and the families who love them. Their compassion extends far beyond medical care. Thank you for loving and caring for Tango throughout his life and for helping us through his passing with such grace and compassion. We will never forget it. -- BCT Family

Dr. Nesbit has been an excellent Vet for Miller, and I appreciate how he never tried to rack tests and pricing up and always seemed truly focused on the well-being of my dog. Left us without a vet during a pregnancy…read more I am sharing this experience so other pet owners, especially breeders, can make an informed decision before trusting this practice with a reproductive case. Dr. Claytor was our local repro vet during my girl's pregnancy, which was being managed by Dr. Leigh McBride, a highly specialized theriogenologist who was also the surgical insemination vet. When Dr. McBride set the pre and post-surgery protocols, Dr. Claytor refused to follow them and threatened to drop us rather than defer to the specialist. She said she needed to consult her own mentor - also a theriogenologist - before deciding. Even after her mentor corrected her, the threatening approach didn't stop. She gave us a 24-hour ultimatum over the wormer protocol. We complied with everything she asked. She dropped us anyway 6 weeks from delivery. The staff shifted along with her, and the environment became uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I understand they follow the doctor's lead, but it added to an already stressful situation. This seems to align with how the staff scored this practice on Indeed with an overall 2.8 score. Dropping a patient mid-pregnancy is not just bad bedside manner - it is a safety issue. I am looking into reporting this to the veterinary board. The other doctors here seem well-regarded, and I think this issue is isolated to one vet. But for anything reproductive or specialist-level, please do your research first. The extra 15-20 minute drive to another repro vet is worth is.

My experience with this clinic revealed a preference for expensive, invasive procedures over…read morepractical medicine. I noticed an immediate push toward maximizing costs, including offering only lump-sum quotes despite requests for itemized billing. The medical consistency was also a serious issue. When asked to go over the X-rays for my cat's dental, two vets at the clinic provided conflicting interpretations, undermining confidence in the quality of the $1,000 procedure. The most concerning incident was the follow-up for a blueberry-sized subcutaneous chin abscess that developed three days after the dental cleaning. Dr. Claytor insisted on a $70 cytology (a test she admitted might be inconclusive) and outlined a plan for surgery as the next step. I suggested a more sensible approach: try broad-spectrum antibiotics first, and if the infection returned, then pursue a full workup. This was firmly dismissed due to what felt like a completely inflexible protocol. Furthermore, Dr. Claytor suggested reading the cytology off of a smear--which would include surface bacteria and contamination from the open wound. When I asked why not do a simple needle aspirate for the $70 test she'd admitted uncertainty about reading, she said that would require sedation because my cat was too reactive. Yet my cat only reacted because Dr. Claytor had just clipped directly over the exposed tissue of the abscess without any care or caution, causing my cat to jump in pain. Rather than use a towel wrap or basic restraint to obtain a clean sample, she was content to either collect a contaminated specimen or skip straight to sedation and then surgery. No physical exam, vet did not check her lymph nodes or recent dental extraction site, no mention of a bacterial culture, no mention of basic wound care like warm compresses to expel a foreign object, completely inflexible on trying a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Dr. Claytor's treatment plan for a blueberry-sized abscess was a poorly collected, potentially unreadable $70 cytology followed by exploratory surgery. If you are seeking practical, cost-effective veterinary medicine, you won't find it here. This clinic appears to prioritize revenue-generating diagnostics and surgery over sound, sensible, staged treatment.

I truly can't say enough amazing things about Westside Animal Hospital…read more One minute I found a tumor in my dog's mouth, and the very next I had her in their office being cared for. Dr. Purcell acted quickly--he prescribed medication right away and got us scheduled for surgery the following week without hesitation. He performed the procedure, including extractions, and made sure everything was sent off for biopsy so we had answers. Unfortunately, the results weren't the news we were hoping for, but through it all, they have been incredibly compassionate, understanding, and supportive. They took the time to walk me through everything, referred me to an oncologist, and made sure I knew all my options without ever making me feel pressured. That level of attentiveness and care is something I will never forget. Even after surgery, when she developed an upset stomach from her medications, they didn't hesitate for a second to get me what she needed. That kind of responsiveness means everything when you're worried about your pet. On top of Dr. Purcell being amazing, his entire staff is just as incredible. Every technician we interacted with was kind, gentle, and attentive, and the front desk team is always so welcoming, helpful, and organized. You can truly feel how much they all care. What stands out the most is how respectful, thorough, and genuinely caring the entire team is. Their pricing has also been very fair and reasonable, which has made such a stressful situation easier to navigate. I am so happy I finally made the switch from the franchise vet I had been going to for the past 12 years. Looking back, I wish I had found Westside much sooner--I would have saved so much stress and money. My parents recommended them after bringing their own pets here, and I haven't looked back since. My only regret is that they weren't our forever vet from the beginning. Without a doubt, my other 11-year-old will be coming here next. I truly could not recommend Westside Animal Hospital more. They are everything you could hope for in a veterinary team.

From the moment we walked in, everyone on staff was caring and friendly, and incredibly thorough with the intake, exam and follow-up support. Dr. Purcell took his time, conducted a very comprehensive evaluation, and clearly explained the lab results and treatment plan so we felt confident and informed. For a fairly lengthy, unscheduled visit, the cost was more than reasonable. It's such a relief to find a practice that combines professionalism, compassion and fairness--especially when you're away from home.
