He walks perfectly, you'd never know he had surgery. They do a wonderful job prescribing the perfect medication to help our 13 year old border collie's arthritis. The new facility is spacious and inviting. I love the bathroom wallpaper -- nice touch! The rooms are simple and clean, which I personally like. When we first moved here, they exhausted thousands of dollars decimating our will to keep trying through heartbreak as they just couldn't DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM! Kind of their job, right? Yet, they still get paid for their clueless trial and error on our dime and our cat's pain. ;-/ But - as a "courtesy" - they offered to put him down for free. ... How kind of them. ;-/ I guess they checked us off their books as "complete." ;-/ Super expensive, heartbreaking, self-defeating pointless waste of time. Deep breath... A few years later... Dare we bring another cat to them? Boyfriend said: "No!" Me: "They're just down the street... Everyone deserves another chance, right? They've moved to that huge new facility - looks like an estate (clearly they're doing - at least charging - well). (Shoulda listened to the boyfriend!) ... ;-/ We brought TWO MORE cats in this time - with TWO SEPARATE issues. Third time's the charm, right?! NOPE! ;-/ Again: pointless tests, different medicines that didn't work, cats (and our bank accounts) worse than when we foolishly started this process. The final straw: Q: "What's this outstanding balance on our bill?" A: "Oh, don't worry about it, that's a clerical error. Try this medicine. That didn't work? Try this one. Oh sorry. No improvement whatsoever on either cat? So sorry... nothing's improving and we couldn't figure out what either problem was... (i.e.: our bad/we tried/pay the bill(s)!)" Q: "What's this outstanding balance on our bill? We paid everything." A: "Don't worry about that. That's an administrative error. We'll get that fixed." Today they called. Q: To check in on both our identically (if not worse for the wear and expensive/pointless medicine) still-suffering cats? A: No. Q: To see if the medicine they've prescribed us to give them is doing anything (other than make them foam at the mouth, hate their food and us for giving it to them and just run and hide?) Q: Nope. All they cared about (Surprise! Surprise!) was WHEN were WE going to PAY that erroneous "outstanding balance" that THREE of them on THREE different occasions told us was an administrative/clerical error - and none of them know what it was even for. ;-/ Uhmmm... line item please? Or basic MATH?! Shockingly - to just put an F'ing END to this - we agreed to pay the mysterious charge - whatever it's for ;-/ just so WE can F'ing END this! And check THEM off as "complete" - and NEVER EVER RISK ANOTHER ANIMAL - or one more second of blown blood pressure wasted on pointless animal CARE effort and errands - administrative IDIOCY - or most importantly - endure feline heartbreak with them again! We're better served just letting NATURE take its course from here on out. Better odds! WAY more pleasurable. WAY more meaningful. Decent everyday Service, but astronomical prices. For two dogs to be expressed, it was $88. It took them 4 minutes (combined) to provide the service. $15 service fee for weights, temps, heartbeat etc. (per dog). $29 for the expression (per dog). I did not request the additional services, only the expression but additional service fee was mandatory. We have been going there for a while, and the prices have gone up; the service fee has been added and it's very rare to leave a visit under $200. We will be shopping for a new Vet. Additionally, I took my dog in for a leg injury. They did a diagnostic and determined he had a torn ACL. They told us he needed the $5,000 surgery. Ended up being a sting on his paw. He hurt his leg a year later and they again said a torn ACL and that he needed the $5,000 surgery. We took him to get a second opinion. They did a deeper diagnostic and determined his ACL was fine and he either pulled something or tweak something. A week later he was fine and we haven't had an issue since. In closing, the everyday run of the mill service is good, but expensive. I do not recommend taking your pet here for any major issues, they will recommend surgery. read more

This is the worst experience I ever had at the hands of a veterinarian. I was forced to transport my dog to the veterinarian two days prior to the funeral of my husband due to an injury. Without just treatment, I experienced discrimination. They reported that my dog was hostile towards them and attempted to bite them. That was an unfounded allegation. The Director apprised me that the Technician exited the room in tears due to an unheard complaint made by another individual over the phone regarding her. I am a senior citizen who is in mourning following my husband's passing. They were callous, insensitive, and disappointing. No resolution was achieved despite the conversation with the Director of Operations, as my concerns have been unheard. Not only should there be love for the animals but Customers as well. We've been going to Dr. Mike since we adopted our pup Bilbo. We've had nothing but great experiences with this practice : everyone from the reception to the doctors have been wonderful ! Especially a shoutout to the ladies manning the reception : they're knowledgeable and very helpful ! The hospital is located off US 80 in Bloomingdale overlooking decent sized front grounds . Inside, there are waiting areas on both sides of the reception with plenty of seating . There are 2 exam rooms. It's a busy practice so there is generally a bit of wait , but not too bad. Dr Mike and Myra are absolutely wonderful : they are gentle with our Bilbo and patient with all our crazy questions and fears . They provide us with the best possible solutions and do not suggest for medication or treatments unless absolutely necessary. They really care for each patient. Additionally, during these uncertain times of social distancing, they have started curbside service for essential services such as vaccination . I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in this place. Went here to euthanize a pet which is already a hard enough process and they said they would create ink paw prints for us. They then didn't give them to be when I asked for them saying they sign them and send with a card but I asked them to hold them so I could pick them up. I verified they made them so I didn't need them made by the crematory. When I picked my animal up after being cremated I noticed they weren't in bag so I asked for them. I was told they mailed them. I've checked mail everyday and haven't gotten them yet. Then out of no where I get a call from them saying they misplaced them. This is very disappointing and disheartening as items like these are all we have left of our fur pet. I would never recommend doing this process here. Don't go! They blow you off and deceive you! I brought my dog in and asked for the merial IMRAB rabies vaccine because his breeder recommended it. She had mentioned her dogs had had side effects with other kinds so I wanted to be preventative. I explained this, and stated I ONLY wanted that rabies vaccine. The lady who filled out the initial questionnaire said okay and then started the appointment. I checked the paperwork once I got him he had NOT been given the IMRAB vaccine but a different rabies vaccine of their choosing, the the Defensor1. I am beyond livid and angry, I will not be going back! UPDATE: I called the vet the same day after I reviewed the paperwork. She said "We actually don't carry that brand of rabies vaccine, and honestly I didn't think you'd care that much." I WOULDN'T CARE THAT MUCH?!!!! Not only that but instead of apologizing she began to argue with me and discredit my breeder! Ma'am my breeder had been working with this type of dog for 30 years!!! I'll take her word over yours any day! read more

My boyfriend`s mother brought our 8 week old puppy to get seen for shots/etc. on a Wednesday. They came out to our vehicle and said they wanted to run a few test including a parvo test. They claimed there's been several cases in area so they wanted to be sure before she came into the facility. We were understanding due to her being so new and her having no vaccines. Well, they came back to the car saying she has tested positive for parvo/worms and that she will been seen next week to see how she is doing. The gave us meds for the worm's. HOWEVER, they did not give her any meds/supplements for parvo...We ended up having to take her FRIDAY to the emergency vet in Savannah at 11:30pm. She was throwing up/pooping blood and was super timid. It was the saddest thing that I've seen a puppy go through! The Vet in savannah told us that POOLER VETERINARY should have never sent us home with no medication for her, that she most likely would have passed and they should have known that. She also said in all her years of being in this field she's never heard of such thing, to cancel the appt with them and never go back because they did not properly treat our baby. Savannah VET gave us a parvo vaccine, as well as lot of probiotics/prebiotics and fluids. How many young puppies are they letting just walk out to die? There are MULTIPLE things they could have given us to help, but yet nothing. We ended up calling POOLER VET to cancel the appt. and we told them why we were cancelling and one of the "nurses" was in such shock that she was not treated. Well we did it. We finally decided to adopt another cat. But may have gone a wee bit overboard. We adopted twins. Tuxedo kitties that are so cute and very entertaining. We took them to Pooler Animal Hospital. We were treated with great service and lots of attention to our girls. They throughly checked them over and made sure the right names were on the right microchips. The girls have found their forever home and now they have found their forever vets in Pooler Animal Hospital. They were helpful in diagnosing my Minpin and provided a get well plan. They cost was very high, over $1000 xrays and blood test. To be fair, I am not sure if this is normal costs in Georgia. It was a three stage X-ray and full blood work. Total was $1085. The staff was great. read more

Absolutely just about the money. Took my dog in numerous times to have all these recomended test done on very exotic diseases. Instead of focusing on the obvious and leaving it untreated. Fast forward to yesterday my dog goes back in with another episode. Only to be forwarded to an emergency vet that could monitor all night. 640$ please and send us on our way to have my dog die in the car on the way to another vet. All this after the doctor told us she was doing better. Thousands of dollars spent over a year for something that should have been obvious to any other vet. On top of all this was sent home with medication approximately $100 worth asked if i could at least return it for a small refund. The answer was no refunds but we will take it as a donation. 100% horrible business practice. read more

I moved to Pooler in September 2018, besides finding new docs for myself, finding a great vet for my fur child was on my list and a task I didn't take lightly. This place was a mile from my house, and came highly recommended. The staff at Pooler Vet hospital treated my pup, Oakleigh, like family, which was such a blessing. We have seen Dr Jess for a yearly check up, dental cleaning, and cyst removal so far. Dr Jess kept me informed throughout the whole surgery and when we had complications with her stitches they were great about quickly fitting her in for repair. I have also had to use the on call vet when her stitches ripped and got a quick phone call back. Not to mentiIt also helps that the place is located in a house, Oak walks right in, not knowing where she actually is at. If you are looking to take your money and light it on fire for the kicks of it, then this is the right vet for you. I don't know where to start, but somewhere along the lines this vet decided your money was worth more to them then being honest and honorable. For example, we have a 14 year old dog that has become quite irritable and has been using the bathroom as he pleases all over the house. We called this vet, who has seen this dog on more than one occasion to possibly put the dog on some comfort meds to help with his anxiety. They were told exactly what was going on over the phone and what we were expecting. $500 later for a bunch of unneeded and unasked for tests, we were told that we needed to call their friend who was a behavioral specialist so that they could asses what we were doing wrong with the dog for him to act in this manner. We didn't call them for a ton of tests, nor did we call them so that we could pay their friend an exorbitant rate to do nothing to help the situation. The dog still has major anxiety issues and instead of being given anything to help with his nerves, they just wanted us to fork out more money after spending close to $700 on the issue in the first place. The next issue is that we have a dog that has a small growth on the side of her face. They were called, notified what was going on and that we needed an appointment to have the growth removed. When my significant other showed up today for the appointment, apparently it was a $55 checkup to see what needed to be removed plus more money to get her shots upto date and then towards the end of the visit to get even more money from her they told her that they needed another $35 to check to see if the growth is cancerous or not before they could remove it. Normally on a human being they remove the growth and then biopsy it to see if it is cancerous or not, so how is this any different. The appointment was made for the "removal of the growth", not a checkup or a way to pump more money out of someone. And we were just quoted $400 for the removal. I am tired of people taking advantage of everyone during this period of time we are living in and they seemed to have jumped on board with squeezing every nickle and dime out of anyone that walks through there doors once covid started. We will never use them again and we were customers for five years prior. Like I said, unless you have money to burn, please find a vet that actually cares about their customers and not their greedy pockets. read more

PVH is a very nice clean facility, and we were very excited to take our pets there, but it is super expensive. They quote you for the visit after you go into the exam room. We have three dogs, so we expect annual checks and vaccines to be a big bill. The quote they gave was quite a bit higher than other vets, but we figured the nicer facility, and we assumed better service, probably warranted the extra price. Somehow we left paying double what the quote was, and I was on the fence as to whether or not we would return. The thing that sealed the deal, however, was that when I ordered my pet meds through chewy, PVH refused to work with my chosen pharmacy. Chewy normally calls the vet and gets the ok to release medications that I have already picked out, but because PVH refused to give verbal confirmation over the phone I had to go pick up the written paper prescriptions for the same things Chewy was trying to get authorization to send, and snail-mail the paper prescriptions to them. When I questioned PVH they said they don't work with Chewy anymore because it was more work for their staff. I pointed out the fact that their clients are paying at least 25% more than they would any other vet in the area, but they are providing less services. I have never had a vet refuse to release medications through another Pharmacy, however PVH wants to make it as difficult as possible for their clients, who are already overpaying for vet services, to go to another pharmacy, making it that much more convenient for their clients to overpay for medications directly through PVH. To top it all off, I drove all the way across town on my lunch break to pick up the paper scripts that they said would be ready when I got there, just to be made to wait 30 minutes. This is a classic example of a business that is less concerned with providing clients with reasonably-priced, quality care, and more concerned with how much money they can pull. read more

We had a very bad experience with one of the doctors here (She was hostile and unprofessional). However Dr. Michael and Myra more than made up for their colleague's poor behaviour. In point of fact they did everything that anyone could reasonably expect to make it up to us and then they took it a step further just to show us how important our cat was to them. The attention to detail they provided to our cat and their willingness to work through a difficult situation means they get our business for as long as we have animals. It is easy to say a veterinarian is "great" when nothing has gone wrong. These doctors are great because something went wrong and they STILL maintained their professionalism and excellence. I'd give them 5 stars if I weren't still a little miffed at the other doctor we dealt with there. Highly recommend this place for any of my fellow military veterans who have support animals. She was so nice, that she actually went out of her to look up some names for me and also only recommended ones she was familiar with. I don't know how to rate my experience because it wasn't a bad place but it also wasn't helpful. I came in for my pups eye and it seemed like they wanted to address everything but her eye. I paid to specifically see a vet for information and ended up paying to see a vet that referred me to an eye vet.. like can I have my money back and use it at the ophthalmologists you referred me to.. I wouldn't be as upset but I explained before I came in her eye was the only thing I was worried about so it may have been helpful for them to just say "yeah you'll have better luck at an ophthalmologist for this" and i would have been like cool I'll do that. I guess I'm not mad but more so irritated because no one knows what's wrong with her and she's my little.. overall the office staff was truly all friendly and I would totally come back for shots and up keep however I don't know if I'd come back for anything more in depth than that if that makes any sense. They also seemed a bit high price wise for shots so definitely call around and price compare before hand. read more
