Dr. Purcell acted quickly--he prescribed medication right away and got us scheduled for surgery the following week without hesitation. He performed the procedure, including extractions, and made sure everything was sent off for biopsy so we had answers. Unfortunately, the results weren't the news we were hoping for, but through it all, they have been incredibly compassionate, understanding, and supportive. They took the time to walk me through everything, referred me to an oncologist, and made sure I knew all my options without ever making me feel pressured. That level of attentiveness and care is something I will never forget. Even after surgery, when she developed an upset stomach from her medications, they didn't hesitate for a second to get me what she needed. That kind of responsiveness means everything when you're worried about your pet. On top of Dr. Purcell being amazing, his entire staff is just as incredible. Every technician we interacted with was kind, gentle, and attentive, and the front desk team is always so welcoming, helpful, and organized. You can truly feel how much they all care. What stands out the most is how respectful, thorough, and genuinely caring the entire team is. Their pricing has also been very fair and reasonable, which has made such a stressful situation easier to navigate. I am so happy I finally made the switch from the franchise vet I had been going to for the past 12 years. Looking back, I wish I had found Westside much sooner--I would have saved so much stress and money. My parents recommended them after bringing their own pets here, and I haven't looked back since. From the moment we walked in, everyone on staff was caring and friendly, and incredibly thorough with the intake, exam and follow-up support. Dr. Purcell took his time, conducted a very comprehensive evaluation, and clearly explained the lab results and treatment plan so we felt confident and informed. For a fairly lengthy, unscheduled visit, the cost was more than reasonable. It's such a relief to find a practice that combines professionalism, compassion and fairness--especially when you're away from home. I asked her to please retrieve my puppy's medication, that he was very sick, and after spending over $4K on my pets, and paying up front, was told by the kennel girl, I won't call anyone. She refused a very sick patient's medication, and the kind of client that I am, to check with someone to see if anyone could help me. Come Monday, I get a call from the young, jacked vet Gregory telling me he refuses to see my sick dog and all my other pets. He never allowed me to explain the situation. When I begged to just let me pick up the puppy's medication, he literally said..."NO. Go find another vet" and hung up the phone. I have a witness to this conversation. We were both shocked. This "vet" should be investigated by the Georgia Licensing Bureau for his complete lack of professionalism and the mistreatment and neglect of an animal, which is a Federal Crime. When I got my dog settled in the second front desk person asked if I had been helped, which I had. Then the vet tech took us into a room and asked why we were there. We wanted a re-check because our dog has recently been treated for bacterial and worm problem. She was still having loose stools and we wanted to make sure that the problem was gone. We also wanted to find out if she needed thyroid because she has lost all of her hair since we moved here. The vet tech said that she could draw blood and test it while we waited if that's what we wanted. Or we could leave and she could call us with the results. I thought that giving us a choice was awesome. She also asked if we wanted to see the vet, or if she could take care of us. I thought that was really nice because my husband and I are on a budget, and it probably costs more if you see a vet. In any case, we didn't really need to see the vet, and the office was pretty busy, so we declined. We had opted to wait for the test results, in case we needed to buy more medicine. We didn't want to have to come back. Also, even though this vet will give us prescription that we can take anywhere, we don't mind buying our prescriptions here, because they are so nice. That wasn't true with the other vet. We did not want to buy our prescriptions from him, and he actually chose to charge us $25, to give us a prescription so that we could buy our flea medication online.
