I love this place it's so fun! We made it a point to come here first because I remember all the fun little gifts and trinkets to play with, this is not a place just for kids, the adults lose themselves in the toys and those games here too, it's so cute and everyone in here is wicked friendly, actually I've noticed that's a trend in galena! That's why I come out as much as I can! There's nothing speciality here but that as not really what this store is for, if your looking for something to give you some laughs, or a random stocking stuffer this is your place, we enjoyed the table hockey wooden game a little too much I think haha. Pretty cute toy store for the kids. They have a ton out for the kids to play with, test out and then beg their family to purchase for them. Staff were friendly and informative. The nieces and nephews that I was with had an absolute blast while here. read more

Really fun store to go into. The inventory changes every time I go back. The staff is so friendly it's scary. They would come up to me and tell me everything about the toys like they had played with them for years. The prices are a little high, but that is to be expected when the inventory is not the usual things you see in the toy sections in Target. Really neat place to go..it takes you back. My 7 year old daughter and I love to come to Poopsies everytime we are in Galena. She saves her money to be able to shop at her favorite store. She has purchased many of their educational games and loves to play them. The sales people are wonderful, always extremely nice and helpful. I always stop at Poopsie's when I'm near Galena because they have the most fun games and quirky items. The staff is always friendly whether you buy anything or not. Last weekend I was in Poopsie's and my coat sleeve hit a glass Christmas tree on the clearance table and it fell and broke. I fully expected to pay for the broken item, but they told me it was no problem and it was probably displayed in a poor spot anyway. Very impressed with the staff and will be back again. read more

Poopsie's is my go to shop for gifts! They always have the perfect, fun thing for my 13 year old sister, and just the right amount of thought for a gift for my mom, grandmother, etc. I can't even count how many gifts I got there last Christmas. Awesome prints for sports fans, toys and books for babies, jewelry, and house decor just to start naming some! They also have a great program if you shop with them often like I do! I have never written a review of a place, but I felt I had to after my visit here this past weekend. We had a great time in Galena after I had driven my wife, my mother-in-law, and my daughter from Chicago to see this quaint little town among the rolling hills. I also saw the sign for Poopsie's on the highway on the way in to Galena and we decided to drop by while walking on Main St. We had gone to quite a few stores before Poopsie's and people had been nothing but nice to us. However, from the moment we walked into Poopsie's, this older white man who apparently worked and/or owned the place not only had a scowl on his face, but also followed us around the store as if we were going to steal something the minute he looked away. He would actually come over and blatantly pretend to adjust things on the shelf wherever we were (one time he actually took apart a display and put it back together). We really liked the items in this store, but we decided to leave then and not buy anything from such a racist establishment (we are of Indian origin). I obviously can't speak about the others who were working there, but this man was clearly prejudiced and does not deserve decent people's patronage in this day and age. read more

So, this was my first trip to Galena and what can I say, when you see a big a$$ billboard that says, "Say you got it at Poopsie's", you gotta go to. So I go with my gal-pal and this place is the place for any chotz-ky (sp?) or "they'll still be talkin' about it after you've left the party" gift. While I got a fun game for me to play with my kids and a book for more interesting topics to discuss with my 6 and 3 year old, I EASILY could have delved into the various books and chotzky's on "poop", a wine or champagne glass that is large enough for a whole bottle of either (may need to order that one on-line), some hair scratchy/head-massage thing (you KNOW I am not part-taking of this since I did the Hair Fairies review...!!!!!). They've got more great crap that you wouldn't think you wanted until you saw it and it's actually of a decent quality! So, if you decide to wind your way to into Galena for the weekend, definitely stop by and if you get anything, make sure you "Tell'em you got it a Poopsie's!" read more

Stopped here recently from the Chicago suburbs with my teen aged son who was excited to find a unique gift for his brand new baby nephew. We weren't disappointed in the toy selection which was fine, but the customer service was AWFUL. There were 3 employees working that afternoon: the first spent all her time talking (LOUDLY) with a friend about a birthday party their mutual children were attending; the 2nd was moving stock & actually bumped into us without an "Excuse me."; the 3rd just sat on the phone behind the register. NO ONE bothered to greet us or offered to assist us. Very disappointing and unprofessional. I spent years in retail at a major Chicago department store and we would never dream of treating customers so disrespectfully. We actually had several hundreds dollars to spend and only used a fraction of that because I was so disgusted. We won't be back and have told this story many times to friends and family who pass through that way often. read more

Once you can get past the massive crowds in this store, it really is pretty neat. This toy store has something for everyone, so take your time in going through--there's a lot to see. The store is crowded with cool overpriced stuff. One of the women that works there followed me & my mother around the store and was always with in 2-5 feet of us. Watching us and acting like she was organizing product. She followed us from room to room and back. Made us feel so extremely uncomfortable that we left with out buying anything, I will be purchasing the cool items I saw at Poopsies online from other websites......for less. read more
