This company is great! After a low tire, 3 days after a rim change, they not only found a quick time slot to pop me in, they fixed anything that might be leaking and gave my car back fixed, and FREE. They did a great job, timely, effective, asked about my kids and didn't charge me (had no connection to them swapping my rims). Fantastic service! @LeeAnne J: Perhaps you came across as argumentative or rude when you were dealing with them. My wife had none of the issues you did. They were pleasant, professional, and helpful at all times. We purchased two used tires for our minivan after the belts came loose. Poorboy Tire sold us the two tires with 85%+ tread, mounted and balanced for $110.00. After driving for two days we parked the van for 6 days at the airport. When we returned, one of the new tires was flat. We pumped some fix-a-flat into it and called them the next day. They had us come in immediately to fix the affected tire. Overall fantastic service. Both times my wife was the one dealing with them, not I. The previous poster claiming that you need to have "a pair" when dealing with them may have caught them on an off day. read more

I had made an appointment with poor boy tires...when I got there, they couldn't find me first of all, then they said the tires hadn't come in yet from Edmonton (they didn't order them). They then told me that they would call me when the come in...no phone call...so I went to Togo Tires...got me a better deal and only took 2 hours to come in from the warehouse...took 1/2 hour to put on. I will never go to Poor Boy Tires ever. My ex-husband and Sister had similar problems. Stay clear of Poor boy tires is all I have to say. read more

I bought 4 new tires at Poorboy yesterday. While they were quick and efficient I was misinformed before I made my tire choice. They push Federal tires which they have in stock. When I compared them to the Good Year Tire information I brought with me, ie.: warranty, etc. I was told that Federal tires had a 90,000 km warranty as opposed to the 130,000 warranty provided by Good Year. This morning I called back because I wasn't given my warranty information when I left. I was told there was no warranty on tires at all. It had been removed by all tire companies a couple of months ago. So I called Fountain Tire on McLeod Trail and discovered that Good Year has a warranty and Fountain also has their own road hazard coverage. My opinion, go to Fountain Tire. So now I have four tires and no warranty at all. I will learn from my mistake. Hope to save someone else from making mine. read more

A little over a week before Christmas and my tires go, on a vehicle I am planning to unload in less than a year. I do a little research on used tires and find Poorboy Tire. I call and ask if they have the size of tire I need. I am told they have the tires I need, in stock, I don't need an appointment, $45 mounted and rotated. I drive from Airdrie to Calgary, walk in, the man behind the counter takes one look at me and says, What do you want? I tell him what I want, he says, no, don't have it. I said, I phoned yesterday, I was told you had these tires in stock. Well, I just got a shipment, it is going to take me at least a week to get through it, and besides, I am busy today. So you can't help me at all, I say? No, I can't. I leave, send my husband in the next day, Yes, sir, we have those tires, my husband leaves the store with the tires. He charges my husband $45 for just the tires, no mounting or balancing. Apparently you have to have dangly genitals to shop at Poorboy, and what you are told on the phone has absolutely no bearing on what will happen when you get there. read more

I have been to this shop several times over that last few years. Every spring and fall I go here to have my tires changed over and a few times I have had them repair a flat. They have always been courteous and gotten me in right away. I dont think I ever waited more than 20 minutes. I have never played more than $40-50 for the tire change or a repaired flat. read more

I've since taken two other vehicles to Poorboy Tire and I've always had great service there. They seem to have really caught on in the market (great for them, bad for me that doesn't like waiting haha) and they are 100% first come first serve so get there early if you want your car back within a couple hours. read more

I found these guys by google. I talked with Chris on Dec.23 in a panic because I was going to Radium and needed snow tires. I had some ridiculously high quotes and he set me up with great tires at a very reasonable price. He got me in the next day and I waited while they did the work. I have to say too all the mechanics were great and very friendly. Would definitely go back and HIGHLY recommend Poor Boys. read more

I am not happy with Poorboy Tires. Took my hubby's collector truck there on saturday, Aug 28th/2010 to get the back passenger tire changed. When it was done I was sent on my way to hear a jingling like a chain dragging, looked under the truck and under the hood, no luck. When I returned the truck to my husband it was noticed that the spinner on the back tire was missing and the noise I was hearing was from the bolt and washers that held the spinner in place, so I went back to the shop but no one knew where it was. Talked to Chris on Monday about it and he seemingly just brushed me off, not even an apology. This spinner is an older one and we can not replace it. We have dealt with Poorboy for years while under Pete but it seems that since Chris has taken over the customer is nothing so we now plan to take our business elsewhere. This is the 3rd problem from that shop in under 6 months . We are not happy customers read more
