Well, you never WANT to have to use a service like this...but if you are unfortunate enough to need it, Pop-A-Lock is a pretty solid choice. I managed to lose my car key while on vacation, so I arrived at the airport with no way to get into or start my car. Awesome. I called a few places and liked the quote I got from Pop-A-Lock. They met me at my car and had the doors open in minutes. They inspected the lock and let me know they could give me an option that was much cheaper than originally quoted, which was fantastic. Less than 30 minutes later, I was on my way home (total damage was about $100, for the new key and the service). Have to knock off a star because it did take them a LONG time to get to me. First estimate was 45 minutes, then they called back to say 90 minutes...ultimately it took just over 2 hours for the technician to arrive. My situation wasn't urgent, so I didn't mind having to wait for a little while....but if I'd known it would be more than 2 hours, I would have called a few other companies or found a comfortable place to camp out. read more

After a busy week at the hospital 5he last thing I needed was to get locked out of my car. Jesse was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!! Excellent customer service, he was able to find me in the back parking of a busy hospital, he was very professional and worked quickly to open the car. Super fast and very professional! My car wouldn't start and I called in at 1240, he was there in less than 20 minutes and the whole orderal was over in less than 45, including the 15 minutes of running my car so that the battery would be charged. He was super nice and even told me the different auto parts stores in the area so i can get my battery checked and make sure that it has a full charge and does not need to be replaced. I wanted to take a moment to say how much I appreciated the help we received from Miguel yesterday. He arrived quickly and was professional and polite while maintaining social distancing. We had a very tricky situation (a keypad lock that was dead) and Miguel spent over an hour trying to open it. When he was unable to open it, he called for reinforcements while he continued to work at the lock. I feel like we got the whole squad to come out there were so many, but each and every person was just as professional and polite as Miguel as they greeted us. After they arrived, the lock was open within a few minutes and we were all set! After we determined that the lock needed a 9-volt battery replacement, one gentleman went above and beyond, giving us a spare battery from his van. It was11:45 pm and I was stuck with my 2008 PT Cruiser right outside the new NEMOURS Children Hospital in Lake Nona, when on my way out of the emergency room, with my 5 year old baby girl, I came to a new reality test of life, my car was "dead" on its tracks. It would not start for nothing in this world, and, I still had a 45 minute ride waiting ahead of me, since I lived around 26 miles from where I was tonight. Nevertheless, POP=A=LOCK, came to the rescue, jump-starting my vehicle after an unbelievable wait of around 35 minutes, when normally, it can take up to 45 minutes to an hour, before any other company will show-up to provide a service. Friends and family gathered to wish farewell at a going-away bowling party. At the end of the night, we headed to the car and I strapped my son in his car seat. I used to place the car keys in the door handle holder while I secured him. Unbeknownst to me, the car's auto-lock feature kicked in and my wife closed the back door in order to get to the front passenger seat. My son was officially locked in the car with the keys inside and the nearest spare was 60 miles away. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! Sergeant Richard Negron of the Orange County Sheriff's Office was parked in front of the bowling alley with his Deputy. The first thought in my head was, "Break a small window - problem solved." Instead, the three of us started working on different angles to remedy the situation. Deputy called AAA and they said they couldn't have anyone on sight for about 2 hours. I called Onstar and they could not reactivate the account from outside the vehicle. Sgt. Negron called Pop-A-Lock and they said they'd be there in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, my son is sweating and crying. Elvis Lopez (operator #11) arrived on the scene and it took him less than 2 minutes to get my front door open. He was calm, professional, and confident. Elvis didn't cause any damage to the door frame and was well prepared with all the proper tools. Pop-A-Lock even waived the fee as a courtesy to the Sheriff's Office. My car wouldn't start and I was in a remote pitch black area and I'm not from Florida so I know nothing about the area. Christine got there faster than Grant took Richmond. She was kind, caring and moved swiftly while explaining everything as she went.... car started right up. I should have said in the beginning.. I suffer from anxiety and along with her making me feel better... like an idiot I forgot to tip her and now I feel like C__p that I forgot and on top of it I noticed she waited for me to pull away obviously to make sure the car didn't die...now I really feel bad. The service was fast, I'll give them that. But $55 for a service that took a total of maybe 30 min? That's wildly overpriced. It's not like someone had to drive out into the middle of nowhere to come help me. I feel seriously taken advantage of. And when I called Pop-A-Lock to state my concerns, the gentleman I spoke to had the audacity to tell me he disagrees that they're overpriced (as if I asked what his opinion was) and proceeded tell me very sarcastically that he's "sorry" I feel that way. Our service tech was great but the dispatch set him up for failure. I was told that he would be there at 2:30, I called at 2:25 and they said oh yeah he is close to you, any minute he'll be there. Nope, I call at 3:00 same response, my tech calls at 3:08 and says that he'll get to me in 40 minutes. What? Apparently my original tech got stuck at another job and he was just reassigned him to me. Which is fine, had I not called in twice to find out where he was and been told ten mins, twice!!! If they had told me I'm sorry your original tech was held up, I would've been ok but no one had that courtesy. So, we sat until almost 4:15 when he showed up. So dispatch was awful but I think it was Jason our service , he was awesome. Just frustrating to sit around being told one thing when it's something else. We called due to needing to unlock our house. We were quoted a price and given a window to expect the technician. The technian contacted us and let us know he was on the way. Although they were quick, the rates are absolutely ridiculous. I locked my keys in my car so gave them a call and was told there would be someone to me in 25-30 minutes. The guy arrived on time and it took him less than a minute to get into my car. I was 4.5 miles away from the Pop A Lock brick and mortar and he said they charged $40 to drive out to me and $65 to pop the lock. $105 to unlock my car is insanely high and completely overpriced. read more

The tip of the key to my condo broke off while trying to unlock the door at midnight last night. I called a few places that claimed to be 24/7, but no one answered. The Pop-A-Lock agents were friendly and got me connected with Jason, who gave me the price to have a new key made (which was reasonable for the hour) and told me he'd be there in an hour or so. About an hour and change later, he arrived at my complex and quickly got me a key to get into my place. I really appreciate the work he did for me. Hopefully I won't need to use them again, but I will if I have to and I'll recommend them to whoever needs this kind of help! read more

So he showed up and said it was hard to open and this is all said before he touched the car. Price? $159. A $100 dollar price jump. So then came the time to see how hard this would be.
