Last week, I spent my day off walking the Kalamazoo Mall, playing Pokémon go and enjoying the nice weather! I was walking by pop city poocorn and decided to go in and buy some amazing corn. I had been hankering for a spicy popcorn all week and I'm so glad I went with the Buffalo Cheddar, it hit all the spots! It was spicy but the cheddar lightened the mood! If you have not been downtown in awhile, I highly suggest going down there to get some popcorn and see the skeletons during October and helping out other local businesses! read more

I love popcorn and I love different types of popcorn. While my partner and I were exploring the downtown Kalamazoo Mall. We found this place. We went in and the staff greeted us. We tried the different popcorns that they had in the containers. They were a little stale but it was cool to try Buffalo and Garlic Parm popcorn. On the one side, they have different types of popcorn you could buy. They range from salty to sweet. I love the different kinds. We purchase peanut butter and chocolate-covered popcorn. It was the perfect blend of salty and sweet and I love chocolate-covered things and peanut butter. Atmosphere: When you walk in, it feels wide open. It is nicely organized. Cost: We got a little bag which was perfect size for two people or one person if you love popcorn (like me). The bag we got was $5.95. The large bags were around $12. I attached a picture of the menu. Overall: I will give this place 4 stars. It's a nice addition to the Kalamazoo Mall and I think it is a cute place. This place is awesome. I've now used them twice for favors: once for our wedding and once for our baby shower. We stopped in before our wedding to talk to them, and they were happy to let us taste different flavors. We ended up ordering giant bags of six different flavors of popcorn, putting them in big bowls with scoops, and letting our guests make their own popcorn mix as favors. It was a huge hit! For our baby shower (nine months later, we didn't waste any time), Pop City made us these adorable bags of popcorn that we printed little 2" stickers for. We went with the "Kalamazoo Mall Mix" which is caramel and cheddar. The popcorn is awesome, and the service is amazing. I called the day we were going to pick up our baby shower favors, added eight more bags and asked if we could pick them up earlier. It wasn't an issue at all! They take credit cards, so I was able too pay right away, and it was really straightforward. read more

I really, really, really love popcorn! So, of course, I had to go to a place with popcorn right in the name. This is a cutesy little in and out shop, with signature flavors filling the racks and shelves. If you're not sure what you're looking for, no need to worry too much - the shop actually allows you to sample a few, to narrow down your choices. So you could end up with a Parmesan Garlic blend, Bacon Cheddar, or even Buffalo. If you're sure about out of the ordinary flavors, the shop has classics, such as White Cheddar, Cheddar Cheese, and regular Movie Theater popcorn. The popcorn comes in all different sizes to fit your snacking mood. If you're looking for something sweet, you'll find popcorn kernels dipped in chocolate or a candy coating, along with a small variety of sodas, cotton candy, and even Dippin Dots in a pack to go! read more

Really great small business with a nice local feel. Pop City has been downtown for a couple of years now, and has been a great addition to the strip on Burdick. Coming into Pop City, the first thing you see is a stretch of sample dispensers for their various flavours. This gives a great chance to sample some of the non-traditional flavours, like the buffalo wing or dill pickle. Familiar flavours like cheddar or caramel are there too, and they're pretty great, but take this opportunity to try something new. Bag prices are a little high, but it's worth it for a large bag of popcorn that actually tastes like something good! I'm not saying sneak it into a theater, but, you know, that's not a horrible idea. If delicious popcorn somehow isn't your deal, that's fine, whatever, they've got other things too. A quick soda or some cotton candy is also available. Plus, the staff is very friendly & likable. I am a popcorn snob and extremely picky but Pop City's Popcorn is simply the best around! The Butter Rum flavor is to die for and the Zebra mix is pure bliss. Definitely specialty popcorn at reasonable prices and a must-have treat. I now put this on my must see for all my out-of-town guest. Also, the shop is clean and the staff friendly. read more

The best popcorn we've EVER tasted!! Can't wait to get more for ourselves, friends and family! The shop is so cute and the owners are incredibly friendly and engaging. We loved all of the popcorn varieties we tried - in particular the Mixed Cheese and Caramel Popcorn, as well as the Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn. Bonus - they pop the popcorn in coconut oil and use REAL butter, plus really high-quality popcorn!!! The shop is in a very nice area of downtown Kalamazoo with some neat retail shops. Hands down the best popcorn you'll find. We rarely go downtown without stopping for a bag of the caramel chocolate peanut butter or Kalamazoo mix. We ordered a jumbo size of their signature mix the day before a baby shower to give out for favors, and despite our bad planning, they made it work! Our guests were hooked. When my employer handed out bags of popcorn, I found myself asking if it was from pop city (it was) so I guess you could say I'm a pop city snob. :) Love this place and the owners and wonderful! P.S. This is simply the best caramel corn that I have had since I moved to Michigan. I grew up getting fresh caramel corn in downtown Chicago and despaired of ever finding such good caramel corn again. Despair is over. Joy has returned- true caramel corn joy! This stuff is tasty! read more
