After they went bankrupt, closed up shop and moved out of every market, to see them back was wild. But, let's not get ahead of our selves here. This reiteration, not the 'inside Macy's' one, but this one, isn't all it is cracked up to be. You have to remember that before the bankruptcy these were standalone big box stores. Now, you are attempting to cram all the nostalgia into a smaller setting inside the mall. The best way to describe this, is KB Toys on steroids. They are a bit bigger (I saw another one at another mall after this stop), but the stock is limited to the amount of space they have in the storefront. It was fun to be back in one of these, but at the same time it was a bit overstimulating. They have all the major brands, but with the limited shelf space, you are not going to find exactly what you want. And the pricing, typical mall pricing. Some items were double what you could find it elsewhere or online. I was able to snag a few steals in here, but for three items, it was a bit much. I did, however, meet the threshold to award myself a free reusable bag. I hope they stick around after this, and maybe they will migrate back out of a mall setting. I don't see this being a place that would survive in just a mall setting. Although it does add to the overall mall aesthetic.

The selection is minimal and wildly overpriced, and what's actually on the floor is dominated by open-box figures and toys rather than games. The handhelds are kept in a case at the counter, which would be fine if the case weren't in such rough shape -- one console was falling off its shelf and wedged against the side of the display, which isn't a great sign for how the stock is handled. The state of the store overall was honestly alarming to me. The employee I spoke with didn't help either. I asked a few simple questions about what they carry and how often they get it in, and every response was technically an answer without being remotely useful. I left knowing no more than when I came in. I'd much rather give my money to a local shop than to eBay, and I went in wanting to like this place. But a first impression like this one makes it hard to see myself coming back.

It was a fun store to peruse. Currently, select toys are 30 to 70% off and puzzles and games are buy one get 50% off. They are located on the lower level at the Mall in Columbia closest to Macy's.

In this shop, you'll find high quality figurines, statues, ornaments, clocks, salt and pepper shakers, and miscellaneous decorations consisting of religious works, animals, and your favorite childhood properties. I picked up a limited edition Nightmare Before Christmas ornament on my last visit, and a solar powered Lucky Cat and a new wall clock on the visit before that. Product tends to move every few months, and you'll never know what new gifts will be in store. The entire shop is run by one sweet woman who is great at helping you pick out something special for you or a loved one. You'll never know what unique treasures you'll find at Precious Gifts.
