I understand things cost money, but that was pretty steep, in my opinion, for an experience that lasted all of 15 minutes.

The instructors are very nice and helpful. You get an intro and two hours to complete & glaze your piece. They fire your pieces for you, and I've never been disappointed with the outcome. They've recently started doing handbuilding 6-week series that I wish I could be apart of, but unfortunately as of now it's on Sundays in the middle of the day, and I frequently work weekends during that time. If they offered a weekday handbuilding series, I would be all over that like white on rice.

She & I were the only people in attendance on a weekday afternoon. Before you start, you select which size (ounces) perfume you want to make; 10ml is the default but you can upgrade to a larger size & pay an up-charge. Each person makes their own scent choosing 1-3 scents for each category of base, middle, & top. We had 24 different scents to smell and choose from. The Love & Make employee provides composition guidelines & suggestions on scent quantities. After you make all your scent selections, the worker does the final "math" to tell you quantities of each scent. You measure out each scent & finally mix them all together to create your final scent. I'll admit, the worker was not very enthusiastic while helping us. Yes we were the only participants that day but it would have been nice if she had a little bit of "perkiness" while working with us. Nonetheless, the two of us enjoyed each other's company & enjoyed the unique experience. I would definitely return & bring a few more people to have a group experience. I highly recommend the experience! The overall experience was a 5. However, I will rate it 4 because customer interaction for this type of experience is important. Things to Note: - Weekday afternoon sessions are only 45 minutes, $40 vs weekday evenings & weekend sessions are 90 minutes, $75. - Weekday 45 minute sessions have less scents to choose from BUT 24 is still a good amount. - The class is BYOB! - Parking lot across the street is a "pay-by-phone/app".

The intuitive painting class is not about cookie cutter techniques, nor perfect art composition - it truly is about allowing your own creativity to surface. When I arrived I was taken by the wonderful atmosphere in Cherie's studio. Everywhere you turned there was something else that was interesting and fun to look at. Cherie herself made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. I was amazed at how quickly the weekend passed and how re-charged I felt at the end. Talking to the artist I just ran into. Preface: I don't know jack about art. I went to my first art opening 2 years ago at DiverseWorks as apart of my job. Then someone invited me to an Art League opening. I've missed very few shows - like 2 - since then. It's a step up from your friend's friend's 'gallery' that you really don't get - but it isn't someplace you're going to go and talk art theory and your favourite artists from the 18th century. Or event 21st century. It's local. It's fun. It's free.

You can find almost anything in here: yarn, fabric, kids books, cookbooks, misc cards, seashells, school supplies, cds, stickers, ink pads, and a lot more. It's organized in sections but it's a lot to take in. Most things were sold by weight or number of items which was very affordable. Most expensive thing was the yarn which was $12/pound, but everything else we bought was less than $2 each. If you took the time, you could find some steals. I got a brand new jacket for my dog for $1. I'll definitely be coming back here.

I traveled from Austin to Houston for a 3 day workshop at W-ASH. it was totally worth the trip…read morejust to discover how wonderful the space and people are. The people were very nice and welcoming and the event was well organized and communication was excellent! The venue was the best I've experienced any where. I've attended a lot of workshops and classes and gir in instructions and demos all students are usually tightly clustered around the presenter trying to get a view of what is happening. Even though I'm a taller person I'm usually unsuccessful and find myself craning my neck and bobbing around as those in front adjust their positions. Very frustrating! But not here!!! You have the option to do that or you can stay at your OWN 6 foot table and watch one of the 3 huge screens the demonstrator is projected upon. There's a W-ASH person managing the camera zooming in and out on the work or the pallet and sometime both. It works really well. And if there's a new tool involved sometimes the artist will demonstrate for fewer people again and again. The space is truly amazing. Parking was easily had on the street. Note: the elevator is out but is being worked in. The workshop is up one flight of stairs. oh.... and downstairs! there's a gallery showcasing watercolor works and there's a sales area too. Great place! so glad I took the effort to get there! And my work from the workshop didn't turn out too bad either! I hope to go back!
