The instructors are very nice and helpful. You get an intro and two hours to complete & glaze your piece. They fire your pieces for you, and I've never been disappointed with the outcome. They've recently started doing handbuilding 6-week series that I wish I could be apart of, but unfortunately as of now it's on Sundays in the middle of the day, and I frequently work weekends during that time. If they offered a weekday handbuilding series, I would be all over that like white on rice.

Nesha hosted our class and was absolutely fantastic -- welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging. Lillian handled our calculations and guided us through the process with so much care and attentiveness. The breakdown of perfumes and colognes was surprisingly fascinating. We learned about the origins of different scent families, how fragrances are structured, and even some unexpected facts... like the fact that amber comes from the digestive tract of a sperm whale. Definitely didn't need to know that, but it made for a great laugh. The space itself is clean, sophisticated, and beautifully designed, which made the whole experience feel elevated. Overall, I absolutely loved the class and the team's attentiveness. I can't wait to bring my mother when she visits -- I know she'll enjoy it just as much.

It's a step up from your friend's friend's 'gallery' that you really don't get - but it isn't someplace you're going to go and talk art theory and your favourite artists from the 18th century. It's organized in sections but it's a lot to take in. Most things were sold by weight or number of items which was very affordable. Most expensive thing was the yarn which was $12/pound, but everything else we bought was less than $2 each. If you took the time, you could find some steals. I traveled from Austin to Houston for a 3 day workshop at W-ASH. it was totally worth the trip…read morejust to discover how wonderful the space and people are. The people were very nice and welcoming and the event was well organized and communication was excellent! The venue was the best I've experienced any where. I've attended a lot of workshops and classes and gir in instructions and demos all students are usually tightly clustered around the presenter trying to get a view of what is happening. Even though I'm a taller person I'm usually unsuccessful and find myself craning my neck and bobbing around as those in front adjust their positions. Very frustrating! But not here!!! You have the option to do that or you can stay at your OWN 6 foot table and watch one of the 3 huge screens the demonstrator is projected upon. There's a W-ASH person managing the camera zooming in and out on the work or the pallet and sometime both. It works really well. And if there's a new tool involved sometimes the artist will demonstrate for fewer people again and again. The space is truly amazing. Parking was easily had on the street. Note: the elevator is out but is being worked in. The workshop is up one flight of stairs. oh.... and downstairs! there's a gallery showcasing watercolor works and there's a sales area too. Great place! so glad I took the effort to get there! And my work from the workshop didn't turn out too bad either! I hope to go back!
