I placed an online order for pick-up. It was scheduled for 9:15. I arrived a little early and decided to wait till the time came closer. Waiting in the parking lot, I could see that the drive-thru was a bit busy and moving slow. Wasn't really moving fast enough, so I figured I'd go wait in line at 9:10. Sure enough, it did take awhile to get through the drive-thru. A car got tired of waiting (assuming he's like me, waiting to go to the window to pick-up an online order) and went to the last window. Next time, I'll just go straight ahead to the last window and get my pick-up order instead of waiting in line behind the rest (I wanted to be nice and not cut) . Other than that, my order was correct and the food was fresh and yummy! The biscuits are my favorite. The staff was friendly and efficient at her job given the amount of people who was in front of me. Not sure if there was another employee but I'm going to assume one is cooking and one is taking orders. So it could have been slow because of that reason. Waiting is worth it at this location. My boyfriend and I stopped at Popeyes today since we were in the area and it's something different. So the drive thru is kinda weird. You can order on both sides. Weird. Anyways we ordered at the window closest to Groesbeck but then then had to wrap around the building and wait behind a couple other cars for our food, when when there was a pickup window on that side of the building. What was also weird for a fast food place is they ID you for your debit/credit card AND give you a clipboard to sign your name. That's a first! Prices are a little outrageous for fast food. My boyfriend and I split the 5pc Chicken Tender combo with drink and small side of Cajun fries that was close to $10. Thankfully I ate prior to going to Popeyes otherwise our total would have been $20. For that price we could have sat at restaurant and had a real meal. The whole going to the other side of the building to get our food was kinda annoying and I can see why orders can get mixed up when you have to wait for those cars at the drive thru off Utica road. Chicken tenders were hot, crispy and moist. Tasted like hand breaded tenders. Decent size. Some larger than others. Fries were just like Checkers with apparent 'cajun' seasoning. Didn't taste spicy to me. All the fries were all stuck together as one. Biscuit was warm. Very salty. Didn't know you had to ask for honey and pay for it. I usually go to this Popeyes to get my fried chicken goodness but after today's visit I was extremely annoyed with them. We saw that there was a line and they were pretty busy so we were expecting to wait a long time with we didn't mind. After repeating my order 3 times, she finally got it right. I'm am utterly disgusted by the way by which myself and Jessica were treated by this sad excuse for a food establishment. Management lacks any level of professionalism. They missed several items in my order and refused to replace them after 1) not including them in my delivery 2) giving my order away. All after being told they wouldn't deliver my food after having paid for delivery. I come in as requested and the manager had the audacity to raise her voice to me and hang up on me. Telling me she replaced my food and gave it to a stranger lol...what? Then I come in requesting to speak to said manager (Ms. McCoy) and refuses to speak to me and ducks of in a corner to bad mouth me (in front of a door and the OPEN order area). So, of course I hear all of this and am deeply disturbed by the manner in which this is being handled. She refused to give me the phone for Corporate ans felt threatened enough to call the police. Meanwhile, I have no record, am not a criminal, and have no reason to fear of the authorities for those reasons. I did nothing wrong. However, how is it she can raise her voice and I am to be compliant. But when I do the same I'm a threat? Did the color of my skin bring you that discomfort? Or was it that fact that you were utterly wrong and knew it giving you pause? Both maybe huh. All she had to do was give me my money back or food and depict some level of decorum or professionalism and this could have all been resolved with ease. Instead o had to file an official corporate complaint. Oh and the cops felt I was not in the wrong and were very pleasant. They even gave the kids a little face time (the kids asked lol they like the police). They felt they're time had been wasted and advised me to call corporate too. I got the chicken wrap for a buck fifty nine. What a deal! OK, well that was a tip I left last summer, but apparently never got around to writing a review. I love Popeye's Chicken - I am a major fan of Cajun & Creole. They did good by me when I stopped. I opted to sit at the outdoors concrete benches and tables. Excited to be on this side of town and there be a Popeye's so I can pick up my favorite chicken and biscuits to take home for dinner. I asked for honey to go with the biscuits. When I arrived home and prepared to eat my meal I noticed that the honey was not in the bag. I decided to call to make them aware so they would be mindful to avoid the error with others. Spoke to the Manager and explained I lived about 20 miles away and how I was disappointed not to have the honey in the bag for the biscuits. She replied with you can come back up here and get the two packets of honey. (Guess she would drive 20 miles both ways to pick up two packs of honey she was charged for.) It was how she delivered her response with the tone in her voice and lack of concern for providing a happy customer experience that concerned me on how she valued my feedback. I decided to call customer service. I explained my situation, also including it would really not have been such a big deal to me if I was not charged for something I was not aware of. I did not see it on the menu and the associate taking my order did not mention this uncommon charge for a condiment. Customer service was robotic while listening and taking notes of my concern. She said she would pass the information to upper Management along with my name and contact information. That was about 6 weeks ago. I haven't been contacted by anyone since then. I know its just honey. However providing great customer service gets you returning customers and free advertisement. read more

This has to be the worst service I have ever experienced from any fast food joint. As Ron C. mentioned after you order they make you pull completely around to the opposite side of the building to pay and receive your food. This seems weird as they have a window on the side you order from. Why not just use that? Anyways, long story short my wife and I hit the drive-thru last night and I told the person what I wanted, he repeated it back and it was correct and then I told him what my wife wanted and he too repeated that back as correct. Then just to make sure, he repeated the whole order and it was still correct. While this was a bit of overkill I actually really appreciated that he did this because most places don't even repeat the order and then stuff is messed up. We pulled around and when it was time to pay the lady (different from the person who took the order) she says "you had 'X' right?" to which I told her no. She looked at me dumbfounded and then said "Okay so you had 'Y' then?" again still incorrect so she tried a third time and that too was wrong. I told her what we ordered and even though the guy read it back three times as correct it was messed up in the system. She corrects it I pay and then she hands me the receipt and I notice that this too is still not correct. She opens the window to hand me my food and I stop her and ask if what she is giving us is correct because what is on the receipt was not. She again looks at me dumbfounded and says "Well that is what you ordered!" and I again have to correct her. At this point I am beyond fed up and just tell her to refund my money and keep the food. This so called service was a joke. Instead of apologizing for the mistakes she looks at me and I shit you not says in a loud upset tone "OH HELL NAH!!!" before closing the window and then cursing up a storm because we wanted our money back after they couldn't get a simple order correct. The worst part is her name tag said she was the manager too! She forces the money back on us and again fails to say she is sorry and then slams the window shut again. Needless to say I will never be going back there again and I contacted their Corporate Complaint line because that is just beyond unprofessional. That lady needs to be fired or they need to send out a team to retrain everyone. I worked in fast food back in High School and it is not rocket science. Awful experiences. Never get the right order. Was given a credit to come back. They forgot to say only good for 30 days. A waste of time and money if you want to get what you order. Cashier had repeated the order, handed me the bag with the right number of boxes, but shorted me all add one to a box deal. 3.5 Stars I really wanted to review the Popeye's on Gratiot in Detroit near 7 mile because that one is 4.25 stars but it is not listed on Yelp. It's 4.25 stars because the food there tastes better, fresher more homey (like someones mom made it if you can believe that). Service is slower but the food is better. Trust me. 1 thing though: I don't like to fight through the bums begging for money while you try to order in the drive thu. This Popeye's is good they are faster and there are no bums. They are friendly but the red beans and rice doesn't taste as good as Detroit. The Chicken rocks, I always get spicy. The sides are great like the red beans & rice. Came here for the first time today and was impressed with the food and service. Went inside and told the girl I had never been to a Popeyes and wanted a chance to look over the menu. She gave me a few suggestions and told me what she thinks is the best here. She wasn't lying. The chicken is excellent, with just the right amount of Cajun seasoning. This Popeyes puts KFC and other fried chicken places to shame. Their mild chicken is just ok, but their spicy chicken is fantastic. I'd suggest getting the 5 piece tenders combo spicy and with fries. Their coke also tastes better than other place's coke for some reason. The only thing keeping this Popeyes from getting a 5 star rating is that lots of times they don't have any spicy tenders ready so you have to wait for them, and the service isn't always great. Sometimes if you wanted 5 spicy tenders and they only have 4, they'll give you a mild tender without you knowing which sucks. read more

How does Popeyes have only a two star rating?! It's not Popeyes in general, it's THIS Popeyes! I love Popeyes food when they get it right but, THIS Popeyes almost never does. I got one of the spicy chicken sandwiches before they were popular and just fell in love with it OMG! I went back again about two weeks later and ordered one, what I got was a chicken sandwich with (and i'm not exaggerating when I say) a drop of spicy sauce the size of a quarter in the middle of the bun. They were "technically" selling the spicy sandwich by adding only enough sauce for one bite. Why not just say you don't have it available (like they did for the next six weeks). They still had the sign for it on the drive through and on the window. No hand written sign saying they don't have it at that time. Apparently they think it's funny making everyone wait until you get to order so they can tell you then. I got a flyer in the mail saying the spicy chicken was now available. I ordered one, it said "spicy chicken sandwich" on the bill. Got home and again, NOPE. I suppose it was MY fault for not opening the bag and lifting the bun to make sure I got what I ordered. I apologize for that. I did make sure we had everything we ordered (minus the sauce) because they mess up the orders and a regular basis. Again, I apologize for not looking under the bun. I gave two stars for the messed up order, not the bad attitude of the server, how dirty this location is or, how long this location takes. Over $13 (even using a coupon) for one adult and one child to eat and didn't even get what I ordered (again)! Just sayin, while I was waiting inside for my order, a gentleman had came back in twice to have them fix his order they messed up. If I ever go to Popeyes again, it will be at the Mt. Clemens location never the Fraser one. The Mt. Clemens location is the opposite of everything I said about this place. Must have a real manager there.
