From time to time I enjoy having the fried chicken from Popeyes. I've never stopped in at this particular location so I decided to give it a try. This particular location is on the opposite side of the parking lot for a Walmart, so there is ample parking. The restaurant is significantly smaller than most of the other locations, but they do have some tables nevertheless for inside dining. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. They want you to order using the kiosk, but i was able to place my order with an employee at the counter anyway who was actually very helpful and courteous. When I'm not already familiar with the offerings, I find these kiosks to be confusing. Right now Popeyes is offering the Big Box which includes two pieces of chicken, two sides and a biscuit. Ok, before I get into this review, I need to give a background story to this Sunday, November 3rd visit to Popeyes. My husband & I do not at all frequent Popeyes & I, myself have been to Popeyes about a handful of times in my entire life. I grew up on KFC & these days, I don't even consume meat at all. My husband told me last week that after what seemed like FOREVER (clearly I'm exaggerating here) that Popeyes will FINALLY have their famous (or infamous) Spicy Chicken Sandwich. We headed over to Popeyes on a whim for my husband to get his Spicy Chicken Sandwich. He ordered 1 Spicy Chicken Sandwich & 1 Regular Chicken Sandwich & Cajun fries. Per my husband, we were there at 11:41 am & he didn't get his sandwiches until after 1 pm. I checked-in to Yelp on 11:44 am, I believe. Initially, we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. Yeah, riiight. This is what upset both my husband & I. He & I would not have minded the wait, even if it was over an hour long, but the person giving out/calling out orders was calling people out of turn. There were individuals who ordered 20-30 minutes AFTER us & they ordered more food, but they received their food first. HOW DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE??? To top it off, after this hour + wait, the sandwiches were subpar. My husband who is a HUGE fan of Chic-Fil-A was really disappointed. Mind you, that Popeyes purposefully wanted to re-release their Spicy Chicken sandwich on a Sunday, when Chic-Fil-A is closed. So we couldn't even compare them directly if we wanted to... very strategic because Popeyes knows their version wouldn't be as good. It's all a social marketing scheme. Look, I'm even writing about this ish! So, I want to let you know, DO NOT BOTHER going to Popeyes. My husband says there is not enough spice or seasoning in the chicken & it's more breading than anything else. I guess it's best for those that love pickles, because it's much more heavy on the pickle/dill flavor. Chic-Fil-A's Spicy Chicken Sandwich is hands down better. read more

Ordered at 1pm and with the 6 tables full of customers we decided to stand and wait by the soda fountain . About 8 more people come in and now it's pretty much to capacity. Not only were we able to observe the food prep process as we waited. It struck me as odd , that with this extremely full restaurant. No one working seemed to show one bit of urgency as the employees talked among themselves and carried on conversations. 25 minutes after we ordered our name was called. When we got our order it was incomplete and we add to go back to ask for everything: forks, napkins, honey, ketchup, and hot sauce. The complete opposite happened, I ordered my food went to the restaurant press send and then went into pick up my food, where I waited over 25 minutes for it.
