They were very informative, helping us with the city's public transit system and restaurant recommendations. They even booked our train tickets for our last leg of the trip. This is a boutique hotel which means they don't have a 24 hour front desk. No worries, they provide 24 hour assistance if needed. My husband and I locked ourselves out of the room one evening. It was late before we realized it. We called and they had us back in our room in minutes. Do not hesitate, this is a great place to stay.

Street parking is sometimes hard to find, but we got lucky and caught an open spot where we left our car for the three days we were here (just remember to put money on the spot for those non-free hours). The rooms and beds were very comfortable, and we had a pleasant balcony with large windows that we opened at night to cool the room. Our hosts were extremely helpful, greeting us by name on arrival and helping us plot out our days and nights in the city on a provided map. Totally will be back for another pinchos adventure!

Coming to Biarritz for an evening, we wanted something in walking distance and this did not…read moredisappoint. The location is great as everything is within a 10-20 minute walk. For those with a car, there is limited parking for an additional fee. You may want to see if you can book a space ahead of time. If you do not want to park, we were able to find free street parking a few blocks away. Our car was safe and undisturbed. Note that we came in the low season so I do not know how easy street parking would be in the high season. The hotel is an older building with some modern updates. There is a small lobby and a breakfast room. Check in was flawless. The lady spoke fluent English which was most helpful as my French is rusty at best. She gave as an overview of Biarritz and made several recommendations. She even explained the parking situation and told us where we could find the free parking. We got our room keys (RF cards) and went to the room. We ordered a junior suite. There was no separate room. I guess the chaise lounge made it a suite. That being said, it was a nice size room with a comfortable bed. We were on the second floor and had a view of an alley. We could fully open the windows and take in the sea air. There was individual temperature control. The bathroom was spacious by European standards and there were slippers and robes. Linens were soft. Provide bath products were adequate. I found the room to be comfortable. The sleep quality was good. There was no noise at night. The Wi-Fi seemed fast, but we did not try to stream any movies or Netflix. It was fine for general surfing for sure. There is breakfast for an additional fee (16 Euros I believe), but we did not partake. I heard it was quite good. Check out was a breeze. We were able to store our bags as we roamed through Biarritz for the day. We came back to the hotel and grabbed them before departing. I gave this place five stars. We received individual attention at check in and the host was quite gracious. She took time to go over the sights at Biarritz and gave us suggestions. She also told us about the free parking and gave us opportunity to find it. The rooms are large and comfortable. The location is great. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I enjoyed the location, hospitality and breakfast here. If you rent a car you may have trouble finding parking. There's a pay to park garage a walk away, that's what we had to do. Bummer for my room with a beautiful view was the smoker that was in it before me but otherwise it was great, inopen d the windows and let the breeze take some of that air out.

Borderline Traumatic Experience - June 2024…read more I did not stay here, but stopped in for food and drink after hiking for hours from SJPD through a cold, torrential rainstorm on my first morning of the Camino. I arrived at 7:50 AM, soaked, shivering, and desperate for something warm. As soon as I walked in, the male owner immediately yelled at me to get out. Yup...I had no idea why. Come to find out they opened to the public at 8am. Note: there was no sign on the door stating the bar wasn't open yet, how was I to know the crowd inside had stayed there the night before? Stunned, I stepped outside and waited quietly under the covered carport to change into a dry shirt and dig through my bag for important medication. Not long after, the same man burst through the door again, screaming, even more aggressively than before. I tried to calmly explain what I was doing while shirtless in mid-change, just taking a moment to change into a dry shirt and get my pills. (I mean, this should have been kinda obvious.) Instead of listening, he began poking me repeatedly with his finger, and then started physically shoving me and my backpack out into the rain. I was in absolute shock. His anger and behavior were irrational and hostile, and to this day I have no idea what I did to provoke it, other than showing up ten minutes early, cold and wet, looking for coffee and toast. It was a horrible and humiliating way to begin the Camino. It's a shame because the location is beautiful, but I strongly urge fellow pilgrims: Do not give these people your money. They are not kind or compassionate, and their hostile responses to negative reviews in many places shows this side. They take zero accountability and always blame the guest. Unfortunately, I became one more example of that. Hope this honest review helps someone. Buen Camino!

She goes out of her way to make sure that you are well taken care of. Everyone we encountered there was blown away by her sweet, sincere, caring hospitality. The bedroom was perfect for us and Amparo is MILITANT about cleanliness!! She just attacked the bathrooms with bleach!! She also went out of her way to recommend the best and cheapest parking there as well as the most amazing Paella and Sangria since we've been in Spain! You will not get better value and service while in San Sebastien! Go visit your long-lost aunt!!
