I have been recovering from illness so this outing was meant to be a comforting return to a familiar place. I wanted to browse stretch my legs and enjoy myself. The store looked great and the cashier along with a very kind clerk helped me with my selections and explained a sale misunderstanding. They were professional and pleasant. The issue was the behavior of the floor staff. As I shopped I noticed employees repeatedly watching me. One young worker was extremely obvious. She peeked around corners followed my movements and stared at me in a way that felt more like surveillance than customer service. I have lived long enough to know the difference between normal store awareness and being singled out. When I reached the checkout she came and stood directly in front of me staring as if she was evaluating me. She interrupted the clerk helping me with a comment about her phone while never breaking eye contact. Then she and the others walked away. In that moment I felt violated. Not uncomfortable not mistaken but violated. Whoever trained these employees needs to take them back into training because this behavior was intrusive unprofessional and completely unnecessary. I completed my purchase but the experience ruined what should have been a peaceful outing. I will not be returning. Some places change and unfortunately this one has changed for the worse.

I walked away but why run a sore so lax as not to know where your inventory is and how much? The manager stood up for her employee so I left it at that. One of the clerks issued my refund and did say, "I'm, sorry" and she wished me luck in finding something else. The other clerk stood at the counter and said clearly under her breath, "there is nothing to be sorry about." Well.... I sorry for your loss and any future sales to me, I liked your merchandise. She sent me an invoice for $5500 - about the same amount as the furniture I was ordering from her. There was no prior discussion, no contract - not even a text exchange about ANY fees let alone a $100 hourly fee, of which she was "41 hours in".... until the project was over. I have attempted to negotiate in good faith with the owners- Meghan and Cathy- over the last 6 weeks- offering her $2k design fee- a 33.5% markup on the furniture I purchased from her, of which she refused and then held my furniture hostage. Credit card charges are now in dispute and all orders being cancelled... what has now become a 4+ month project was just a complete waste of time for both of us. The lack of common sense in having a conversation, contract and deposit if you are expecting to be paid a designer fee of any amount is actually shocking. Great designer, but an unprofessional and horribly run business.
