I reserved a cart about a month in advance, and Port A Beach Buggies called me about a week prior to our arrival to confirm our reservation. Picking up the buggy was easy and seamless. We stayed at Gulf Waters RV Resort so we were able to pick up our buggy on site! So easy and convenient! The buggy was clean and had a full tank of gas. I was shown all the amenities of the cart like the cooler storage and blue tooth. The buggy performed perfectly - we had zero issues. Returning the buggy was also very convenient. Please do not support this business! My family decided to rent here based on cart appearance rather than looking at recommendations first. Yes his carts are attractively wrapped... but the good experience ceases there. We had an issue with the key and returned before starting our day for repair. Scott immediately became very defensive and accused me of drinking and driving throughout the night and continuously tried to instigate me into further argument, though I refrained from playing his games. I agreed to every corrective action he came up with but he still remained combative. When my aunt who paid for the rental arrived, he was aggressive toward her as well. HORROBLE SERVICE ! Called to let them know I'm dropping off a day early owner was rude right off by answering the phone . I'm guessing because he didn't want to lose the extra hundred dollars . Then started telling me that I didn't know what the price I was talking about and after he pulled up my account which he said he didn't have my account and took them a while to pull it up , when he did pull it up he saw that I was one dollar off the price??? Then start off by saying that I can't rent from nobody else but him which is a lie people can easily rent from other places not to mention the golf cart that I rented made a loud noises and very poor quality could not steer vehicle at all hardly because his buggies have not been maintained, So was not fun to drive at all , Also he tries to act like he's giving everybody a deal and discount which he is not. i'm sure he won't be in business for that long . And hopefully the HOA & other companies see this that he threatens people and cuss at them and gives very bad service which makes The places he services look bad which is gulf waters right now . Rented a six person cart for 4hours. Although there were only 4 in our group, this gave us room to lug the cooler of food and drinks down to the beach for the day. The cart we rented had seriously been driven HARD. The idle was super rough. Sometimes it took it a bit to get going after coming to a stop. Found the customer service both on the phone and in person to be pleasant. Gentleman that helped us was funny! You have to fuel these up before returning them and we had an adventure trying to find a gas station in time to get the cart returned. Mostly because you can't drive along the highway with the carts. You have to stay on side streets. My phone navigation kept trying to take us on the highway. Was seriously a great day tooling around the coast. Sight seeing. Racing other carts. Running through puddles. Bumping through the rough tracks of other vehicles. And making memories. An afternoon my family will never forget. Awesome place! They open early and right near 11th st. Great prices great people! They were helpful and kind and easy to reach. Most cart rental companies in the area are rude and short while talking to you on the phone but these guys are polite and helpful and not rude at all and that goes a long way with me. Setup a site at Gulf Waters and thought it would be great to have a golf cart for cruising around. I was referred to Port A Beach Buggies and had some RUDE (Scott) Jerk on the phone give me an attitude because I asked to many questions about the type of Golf Carts he was renting. Apparently, Golf Waters only allows this Rude Company's carts on their property because of a year long contract they have with them. While I was at the front desk of the Gulf Waters I must have heard at least three other customer complaints of this rude company. I had some rusted green golf cart delivered to us on sight for almost $200 per day, seriously??? I realize it can get a little stressful dealing with tourists but due to this company disgusting attitude and over priced rusted golf carts disguised in their attempt as a sea creature I called my local EZ GO golf cart company and had a brand new cart delivered on my drive way. Their website says to ask about delivery to your hotel so I called and asked and lady said "no we don't and you can't keep if over night either"... NEVER EVER COMING BACK. Not only were the staff INCREDIBLY rude, the golf carts were awful to drive. There was one staff member who's attitude was as big as his size. In terms of the carts, the throttle died all the time and you needed 100+ ft to brake. All of the information was inconsistent whether it was over the phone or in person. We were quoted a price in person, asked if we needed to do any paperwork or place a deposit, we were told no!!! When we got to the island for vacation the owner had raised our quoted price that he gave us by $100.00, nothing we could do in July at that point but pay it. However, there are many other buggy rental places on the island and with the screaming argument we seen him have in his store with another island business owner we would rather walk than give him anymore of our business. read more

After this guy tore up my contract 5 minutes after my husband made the reservation, he told me I would have my money refunded. We checked our statement, and he NEVER refunded our money. This is a great place to rent a golf cart. We rented a 4 seater during SandFest 2017, the Owner was straightforward and held his word on price. I was a bit skeptical when I wasn't able to pay ahead of time over the phone when I called to reserve it months ahead of time. But when we got there I told him who I was and the price he gave me over the phone and he said 'Yeah I remember you' and held to his word. We went I asking prices and walked out within 10minutes with a 6 seater for 24 hours at a wonderful price. The kids got to go out and pick the cart of there choice. Myself my husband and our 4 and 3 year old daughter went in to see about renting a 6 seater cart from there he said nope only have 4 seaters so I told my husband to go ahead so then my husband asks if he can deliver it he asked where we were staying I told him the name and he said wow really isn't that like just 500 feet away so it husband says let's just go this guy has an attitude just as soon as we walked in so as we are walking out I'm getting my daughters he says I mean why why we deliver it just down the street and tells us to get the F out of the store over and over yelling granted my husband is already at the door holding it for me and my daughters to walk out and as my husband is closing the door his big self comes around and pushes my husband!! Wish I could give negative stars on this company. When we checked in at the Gulf Waters RV Resort, we were told they only allow cart rentals from this business. We setup delivery for the next morning, even though the rental price was quite high ($135/day). We were greeted the next day by the delivery driver, Bruce, who immediately demanded we sign a waiver that released the rental company from all liability for any law suits. I asked if this included any liability that could be traced back to maintenance issues or lack thereof. He stated "all" liability would be waived and demanded we sign the document or he would leave with the cart. As my wife and I discussed whether or not we wanted to sign such a document, he again in a demanding way said "Are you gonna sign or not?!", then stormed out of the office. I contacted the owner, Scott, who made excuses for his delivery driver, most of which were ridiculous. He eventually apologized, but it was more of a, "Well, I apologized so what more do you want" attitude. He forwarded us the contract so we could actually read it without being pressured. But the attitude of his delivery driver and his attitude on the phone in dealing with a customer who was willing to pay him close to $500 for a 3 day rental was inexcusable. I would recommend you stay far away from this company and just drive into Port Aransas or Corpus and rent from a reputable company. read more

Awesome buggie rental place!! Had a blast driving up and down the beach with my family! You do have to stay off of the main highway which is kind of a downer, but completely understandable! We rented a 4 seater cart for 2 days and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We were surprised to find that the buggie had room for a 24 pack of water under the back seat so that was neat too. The cart drove beautifully and went from 0-100 mph real quick. Okay maybe not 100mph, but rather 30-35 mph? Lol. All of the carts looked to be in excellent condition as well. The fun began when choosing a cart because each cart had unique designs on them. Our cart had parrots, leaves and flowers. We appreciate the owners being awesome and allowing us to customize the cart even further by putting up a Marine flag that flew high as we drove along the beach. I had no problems with the cart and the salespeople were great!! I have no complaints at all and would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends or family. Whenever we come back to Port A we'll be sporting our "5 o'clock Somewhere" buggie!! read more

Came here to rent a golf cart for the beach and when my mom (who's 51) couldn't find the address of where we are staying to give him but had the street name. We told him we could pull it up on my phone and tried to explain that the closest beach mile marker was #6, then the guy working proceeded to make her sound like a liar saying that the street we are staying on did not have beach access and then refused to let us use a golf cart. When my mom continued to explain where our house was for clarification, he threatened to call the police on her! Terrible service, I would give this place negative stars if I could!!!!!! read more

I loved the golf carts available from this location however the customer service from Scott was terrible. We rented a cart and had issues with the cart. I sent my Daughter and my nephew to return the cart. He accused my nephew of drinking and being out late partying. We were all in bed by 10 and no one was drinking. The cart had been driven 3 times from the beach to the house and back to their location. I stopped by to have a civil conversation with him after the way that he treated my family and he decided to start yelling at me vs. having a conversation or even apologizing for the way that he spoke to me or the way he handled the situation. He said "lady I am in the golf cart business". I though you were in the customer service business renting golf carts! He proceeded to carry on while another customer came in. She overheard him yelling at me and went out to get her husband. They decided not to rent from him because of the way he was treating me. In the end he gave me a refund but he said, only because he could rent the cart I had right away. I ended up say yes because I did not want to deal with his treatment any longer. I went to 2 other golf cart rental locations on the Island and said that I felt like I was mistreated at another location and without saying where I went, they let me know that he is know on the Island as a pompous a**. The guy who waited on us (I assume he was the owner) was rude and a bully. While giving us information on where to drive them I commented that I had seen people driving them on the main highway to which he responded "no you didn't". We should have walked away then. While giving us the tutorial on the cart operations he ordered people where to stand. He told us about the seat belt laws followed by "I don't really care what happens to you as long as my cart comes back in one piece". The final straw came about an hour into our rental when we noticed one of the tires going flat. We called to inform him and were promptly confronted with "that's never happened before, what did you hit". When I pointed out that he was being kind-of a dick he blew his top. He said he would come get the cart and refund my money. Thankfully there was another cart place right there. Like most bullies, though, he sent someone else to get the cart so as not to confront us himself. 24 hours later and I'm still waiting for the refund on my credit card. read more
