The first cart had awful shocks/suspension and also rattled like crazy. The buggy top was so loose it bumped around and shook in the wind. The brakes were not good. After about 30 minutes we couldn't stand it and returned to exchange for a different cart. It rode much better and top was attached but alas, no seat belts and a chicken bone in the back seat. The lots was full of carts so why the attendant would give us such a crappy one initially is a mystery. You'd think they'd give out the best ones first. No wonder there were no customers and the lot was full. I've learned a good lesson about renting golf carts!

I was provided a rental car from Enterprise due to a not at fault auto accident. While driving on…read moreBeach Road (a city street) in Port Aransas I had to turn into a parking area to avoid city construction equipment. The rented vehicle became stuck in sand. I called Enterprise whose recovery people told me it could take 72 hours to send assistance. It was agreed I would leave the vehicle. 3 days later Enterprise told me they recovered the vehicle undamaged, but accused me of abandoning their vehicle. Which was not true as I left with their permission. And, have refused to do any further business with me. While business disagreements can occur I don't like deliberately false accusations. My advice is to be very careful when renting from Enterprise and document every interaction. All turned out well as Progressive Insurance saved the day by arranging another rental through Hertz. A lady named Lisa from Enterprise reached out to me about this review and asked I go to their webpage to leave my rental agreement number and contact info., which I did. After spending 10 wasted minutes with "Pearl the Chatbot" I gave up.

Longing for surf and sand, we scheduled a long weekend in Port Aransas and found a fantastic house within 5 minutes of the beach. "Villa 4 Rita" is dog friendly and can sleep a total of eight. The setup includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. An open loft sleeps 4 but it has a low ceiling and the stairs are treacherous. Melissa made our trip fantastic. We got her take on restaurants and took her up on a few of her suggestions. Check in and check out were as easy as the beach breeze.

Not only is there website the most friendly, so are their prices. They never charge hidden fees and they carry mostly mid-range properties. They provide two tabs for dishwasher, a small dish soap, at least two toilet paper rolls, a trash bag, and all of the linens (towels, too). You bring additional of the other if needed - but this is a small price to pay for NO FEES. Getting your key is as easy as stopping by their office (located near the ferry landing). If you arrive after 4pm, there's a drop box and you can pay on your way out. You must put down 1 night deposit (you can use credit card online) and pay full amount when you arrive, but they only accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks up to 2 weeks prior to your stay. Upon arrival you can pay with credit card (although it's very courteous to pay with debit) or cashier's check. We once had several houses booked for a large party so I made sure to bring a cashier's check to avoid the fees. There are very few properties I've not completely loved in the last 5 years of booking with them. If you want an honest opinion about a property - hit me up and I will let you know. TIP: Hang on to your keys - only fees are for lost keys!
