It was equipped with a fridge, microwave, and dishes. The host also included extra towels, beach towels, dishwashing liquid for the dishes, shower necessities and a broom to sweep if we wanted. I loved the extra outdoor shower to rinse the sand off and the porch chairs to sit and relax. Although it had WiFi, I loved that it did not have a television as I caught up on some reading (I had an iPad and headphones for hubby to watch Netflix ). The hosts could not be more gracious. The location could not be better. Each cottage is uniquely styled and very comfortable. Flora and her family are great, and have worked so hard to build this wonderful little spot along the beautiful Texas coast. When my family says "the beach" we mean Angler's Court in Port A.

Longing for surf and sand, we scheduled a long weekend in Port Aransas and found a fantastic house within 5 minutes of the beach. "Villa 4 Rita" is dog friendly and can sleep a total of eight. The setup includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. An open loft sleeps 4 but it has a low ceiling and the stairs are treacherous. Melissa made our trip fantastic. We got her take on restaurants and took her up on a few of her suggestions. Check in and check out were as easy as the beach breeze.

Not only is there website the most friendly, so are their prices. They never charge hidden fees and they carry mostly mid-range properties. They provide two tabs for dishwasher, a small dish soap, at least two toilet paper rolls, a trash bag, and all of the linens (towels, too). You bring additional of the other if needed - but this is a small price to pay for NO FEES. Getting your key is as easy as stopping by their office (located near the ferry landing). If you arrive after 4pm, there's a drop box and you can pay on your way out. You must put down 1 night deposit (you can use credit card online) and pay full amount when you arrive, but they only accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks up to 2 weeks prior to your stay. Upon arrival you can pay with credit card (although it's very courteous to pay with debit) or cashier's check. We once had several houses booked for a large party so I made sure to bring a cashier's check to avoid the fees. There are very few properties I've not completely loved in the last 5 years of booking with them. If you want an honest opinion about a property - hit me up and I will let you know. TIP: Hang on to your keys - only fees are for lost keys!

Peaceful when we wanted peace; fun when we wanted fun. No need to fuss over whether or not I brought everything I needed for the beach. If I forgot something or needed to pee - the house was 200 yards away. Everyone could kind of do their own thing (chill on the deck in the sun or take a nap in the shade, post up on the beach, watch a movie, cook) and at the same time, there was room for everyone to be a family together in the evening. We did The Black Marlin for dinner the first night (spectacular food and pretty good service). We also took advantage of the kitchen for a home-cooked meal the second night. I'm a pretty picky eater and a picky cook, and this kitchen had all the equipment I needed for the weekend. Most importantly - it was the best two nights of sleep I have had in a long, long time. So relaxing.
