I contacted the owner, who initially said he would follow up, but after several days I had to reach out again. The company ultimately refused to reimburse the replacement cost, arguing that protective tape had been removed from the lock. However, their crew had instructed us to use the front door during the job, so I don't believe it was reasonable to expect the protection to remain in place without warning or without reapplying it. I wasn't looking for anything beyond the cost of replacing the damaged lock. Unfortunately, the company chose not to stand behind the situation.
