This place is family and dog friendly! It's so rare for a place to allow dogs so we love coming here year after year cause we wouldn't want to miss out on having our dog with us! I went on thanksgiving long weekend and I think this might've been the first year that they've started charging $7 for admission into the pumpkin patch and corn maze area. The rest of the farm, and the animals area is still open and free to visitors and you can still pick from hundred of pumpkins just not directly from the pumpkin patch area from the ground! Our first pumpkin patch! We went early in the morning to avoid the crowds and it was a good call! It definitely got busier within half an hour. The pumpkin patch is very nicely decorated and had lots of pumpkins everywhere. They offer little wagons for you so you can haul your pumpkin(s) of choice and little ones around! Along with the pumpkin patch outside, there are fun cut-outs for you to stick your face out of for funny photos, giant tractors to climb on, cedar maze to get lost in, and swings and slides and tunnels to explore. There is also indoor space in case of rain with fun backdrops for photo opportunities, giant sandbox, and a lot of mini games to play such as pumpkin tic-tac-toe! Plenty of parking, so don't worry about that! There are also food trucks around lunch time. We had so much fun for our first time and baby was so tired he from all the walking and running around! read more

I was looking for mycorrhizae, coming from forest mushrooms - natural and non-chemical fertilizer like those of Bayer or Monsanto and well - they are freeze-dried bacteria - this nursery had some in small waterproof bags of 50 grams, by putting it in watering water or in the soil you decrease the water supply and promote the growth of plants by more than 20%, grass included) Welcoming and very competent staff, it even changes from the sometimes austere welcome of other nurseries read more

This is my primary go to nursery. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They will spend time with you to help you understand and teach you how to plant and care for your plants. Prices are reasonable. This is a large location, and they have a variety of inventories that fits a variety of price range. One time, I had to special order more of a tropical plant they had, they explained to me the process, and were able to bring me a very good quality one quickly. More importantly, they follow up with me to let me know when it arrived. Staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful every time i go there. read more

The Port Kells Nursery is just up the road from Art's Garden and worth a swing by after you've been down to Art's. They have a large chicken coop and sell absolutely delicious real eggs- better than any eggs you'll ever get in a store, and very, very reasonably priced at $3.25/dozen. And, you can buy some chicken feed and feed the chickies, which is always fun. They have a solid plant selection, but the price and selection is better at Art's. Port Kells is still worth a look, though. read more

Had a very unfortunate and traumatizing experience today at your nursery. Both my sister and I are Exempt from wearing masks. Myself due to Vertigo and my sister has been raped with a paper bag over her head. With PTSD and Mental Health issues. As you might be able to imagine having a covering on her face is unwarranted. We spent a hour and half shopping in this open space with NO issues not wearing a mask from staff. As a matter of fact two staff members were appreciating the fact we were wearing Exemption Buttons and made their jobs at ease. It was not until the nursery became busy and a 'Karen' (customer) made unwarranted remarks to staff. Upon my sister standing in the back of the line to pay she was told to get out or wear a mask! She stated was shoved upon the shoulders by a staff member with sandy blonde hair in a ponytail. My sister asked not to be touched. From there the situation became escalated and my sister became belligerent. For good reason I might add. Being ganged up on by many staff members. I'm respectful and understand the situation of the company and staff. Yet, do NOT agree with this policy as it is Against the Law. I spoke to the Manager who said she did not witness such? As by the time my sister got to the till the Manager only witnessed the behaviour of my sister. Hopefully you will speak to the staff about people with Mental Illness, Mask Exemptions and being Compassionate to others. These are one of many reasons a person has a Medical Exemption and a Doctors Note. Please educate yourself and staff as to Rights and Freedoms in the Canadian Charter. You may look it up in Section 4, PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA, ORDER OF THE MINISTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND SOLICITOR GENERAL, Emergency Program Act, Ministerial Order No. M425 Hope this gives you some insight and lends you some compassion to others in this confusing world we are living in. This will now be a Human Rights Violation and a Complaint will be filed. On a second note. I've been coming to the Nursery for over 5 years. Had my hanging baskets made up as well. I called this morning to ask if my 5 baskets were ready to be picked up? Your employee said yes they were. She did not ask my name or check on the status? When I arrived to pick them up my baskets where empty? Remarks were they tried calling to notify me? There has not been any message on my phone as such. So very disappointed in this establishment and we never be back. read more

Disappointed. My husband bought me several indoor succulent plants as an anniversary gift ($80+). Some of these were types that I had already, so I called the store the next day to see if I could exchange a couple of them ($20 out of the $80 spent) for ones that I wanted to get. I had the receipt which was stamped final sale, however I was hoping that the staff would make an exception to exchange perhaps the smaller plants and I would keep the bigger arrangements. Disappointed that they would not given the gift circumstances. I understand the policy but sometimes rules can be bent slightly to accommodate people in good faith. I normally do shop here but in future will likely take my business to other local nurseries. Very disappointed with service today. read more

What a horrible buying experience!!! Staff were all young and totally disinterested in helping with the exception of one young man. To top it off watering system turns on the hanging baskets and we got soaked trying to get out of the greenhouse. Suggestion to owner on a Friday evening before Mother's Day invest in some staff that is there to help. As it was we spent $200+ dollars but decided to leave and shop elsewhere for the balance of what we needed read more

This is my absolute favourite nursery! As someone without a yard at this point in my life... I go here for their excellent selection on succulents (at wonderful prices compared to everywhere else in Surrey, Burnaby, Langley etc.) and indoor plants. And I have to add, theirs seem much healthier too. They also have so much beautiful home decor! It's a great place to shop if you're looking for a gift for a gardener. We specifically sought to support a local family business and based on previous reviews we chose Port Kells Nurseries. We had a very stressful and unacceptable experience with this business and DO NOT recommend. According to their staff, we had the unfortunate experience of having less experienced staff delivering our trees. The cedars were already dying the day they were delivered; they sent a staff person to look at them a couple of days later and confirmed that indeed they were no good. They didn't have inventory to replace immediately (in the Fall), so instead they told us to wait until Spring. They did give us a refund, but never did follow up with us and when we followed up, they refused to remove the trees for us. We were prepared to give them, another chance and buy 20 more trees but they would not remove their dead trees. I eventually spoke with the owner (Rene) to again explain that we do not have a truck and I felt that we should not have to incur further expense to remove the trees because of their mistake. Other reputable nurseries will pay to return trees if the problem was due to the business's error. The owner, Rene actually became angry with me for requesting they pick up the trees, claimed he was offended and said that his staff should not have given me a refund and then hung up on me. We were never rude or angry with them as I assumed they would make it right and ensure that we would have 20 healthy trees without any hassle. Wow, were we wrong! In the end, the experience was very disappointing and I would NOT recommend spending your hard earned money at this nursery. Although their website says "Our goal is to provide our customers with a pleasant and relaxed experience" and they "take pride in the quality of their cedars" - unfortunately nothing could be further from the truth. read more

Great place to take your kids for pumpkins! They have hay rides, chicken coops, pigs to feed, mini hay maze, and a mini haunted house for kids! We had so much fun there. Will be back next year for sure to pick our pumpkins! read more

This nursery has a great selection and knowledgeable staff all year round but for Halloween and Christmas they really shine. The Halloween display was first rate with the hay bale maze and haunted house and for Christmas the whole family gets their picture taken with Santa for a small donation and I bring my own camera. I always buy my Christmas tree and Halloween pumpkins at Port Kells Nurseries because I am interested in supporting a local small business that gives back to the community. Me and my husband didn't want to travel far so we decided to take the kids to Port Kells pumpkin patch which is near our home. I was skeptical at first but my kids and I had a splendid time. My older kids loved the hay maze and the haunted house. My toddler enjoyed playing in the covered play area and feeding the animals. They had pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits and hamsters. We went on the hayride which is $5 per person, doesn't travel very far and the ride is quite short but the $5 dollars for the ride is redeemable for food, pumpkins, any other activities or anything in the nursery. Which I thought was nice of them to offer that. We decided to redeem for food. Ended up spending a total of 4 hours there and I thought we where going to be there for only an hour. Time when by so fast without us even noticing since we were having such a great time. Looking forward to taking the kids there again next year. :) read more
