I've been on a bit of a hunt for a better local doctor. I've had some great Yelp recommendations, but they've either been unable to take on new patients or been just that little bit too far for a casual doctor visit.
I decided to check out the Port Melbourne Medical centre after passing the newish looking building. They have a number of female doctors there (more so than male doctors actually), which makes it a great option for women. They all seem to work on alternative days, so you might not see the same one every time if you have an appointment that can't wait.
I initially saw Dr. Rebecca, who was absolutely lovely. Her relaxed nature made me feel immediately comfortable chatting with her and she was straight forward without being at all rude or abrupt as I have experienced at other clinics. I've also seen Dr Sarah Lewis who has become my regular doctor and she's been wonderful - helpful and compassionate.
The clinic itself is new and bright. It doesn't feel dingy and depressing. They offer pathology services for the first half of each day, which is handy to not have to go to another location if you need a blood test for any reason.
Hoping not to make a habit of going, but it's always nice to know they're there! read more
