Lots of space on the table and seating around it. *Location of the boat was VERY CONVENIENT!! Had a parking lot with lots of space and the marina also had ice (great when you have a cooler/in need of ice for drinks). TIP: Captain Steve was really kind in offering to help us with our cooler, and offered to bring a cart/wagon to put the cooler on to make it easier to bring on the walk to where the boat is docked. *Captain Steve: Not only was he informative about the areas, but he was also a pleasure to have a conversation with. My friends and I had a fantastic experience and enjoyed our time sailing and relaxing , and will definitely sail with captain Steve again this summer!

North Shore YC is convenient to one of the few West Marine stores on Long Island. It is also located near North Shore Farms for some lunch or snacks to take on the boat. The launch service is terrific. There are races and social events throughout the season. The restrooms are clean and there is a lounge/kitchen area with books, games, tv and trophies. There are tables and chairs outdoors with a full view of the entire beautiful harbor. This club does not attract those who seek to impress others with fancy amenities. If you are interested in sailing and want to meet a genuinely great group of people, North Shore YC is for you.

It was a perfect day for sailing (nice breeze, sunny but not hot, clear skies, and not choppy water). This is definitely an activity that I will come back for. Eric is incredibly knowledgeable about NYC's history and shares it all. His boat is gorgeously kept and is incredibly comfortable and modern with a traditional feel. More importantly you can tell he enjoys what he does, which makes it amazing for those sailing with him. It's also a very relaxing experience. We went out on the 4 hr tour and it went by so incredibly fast! If you have the time I definitely recommend doing the 4 hr as it's the perfect amount of time to enjoy the experience. However, if you don't have the time I very much encourage taking the shorter tour so you can experience a great time. A must-do in NYC!

We went on a sail aboard the Clearwater and had a lovely time. The boat was conveniently docked by…read morethe Boat Basin on the upper west side. It's an all wood vessel designed after the old sailing sloops. And I must say it's a very good-looking vessel. The crew, which was made up of almost all volunteers, were great and very personable. As part of the trip, we all got to help hoist the sail which was quite the experience. It actually takes a lot of work and people to hoist this massive sail. We sailed in the evening and got to watch the sun set over the city. We were lucky that there was enough wind to get us moving but not too windy that it made the sail rough. We had a such a great time and wished that the sail was longer!

There are no restrooms on boat or in the parking area of the park. They have an outhouse if you really need to go. Is down the stairs in a dark closet like space. So if your thinking of trying this makes sure your bladder is empty before getting on. The staff are very friendly and respectful. They can answer all your questions. It was a fun trip. Ring your own snacks they don't sell anything on the boat. I am glad I got to experience the ride on a sailing boat. But for me one and done works. You can help raise the sails if you want to.

Particularly, the sessions taught by Martin, the owner, were fantastic with both sailing basics and hands-on tips. The classes were intense at times but made you a better sailer. SSC has a variety of sail boats (from daysail to 40 footer) you can have access to after enrolling one of their membership plans which are quite reasonable in my opinion as opposed to owning a boat. Additionally, there are other sailing opportunities (I.e. racing etc) to hone in your skills and enjoy what LI sound has to offer. It is a local family owned business with friendly team. In this update I would just add that 2022 was another great year as Mark and the team at OneSails were there for everything I needed this season, and the low price to fix the shredded foot of my spinnaker, with a 20 foot rip from being caught in a cleat, was extremely reasonable and the repair completed in less than a week. I also love the new white mainsail and wheel covers they made for me last winter. I also like how they support our local sailing events like the CYC Vanderbilt Cup where I won that cover.
