Also, when I asked about taking measurements so if we decided to move forward with everything later we could, he replied "No I won't take measurements today not until your husband is present so we can go over financing" In my experience with home renovations we get quotes and then discuss after to decide which company we would like to go with.. not get pressured in my own home to sign right away. Overall very poor sales techniques and if they just run on pushy, pressure sales I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

This builder has lived here for decades and certainly knows the conditions. This is either pure evil or this builder does not read and gain knowledge, and/or just wants to save money, AND OR ALL THREE THINGS. We especially let them know ahead of time to please build a roof that will withstand the conditions here, a much steeper pitch than average. We knew the conditions. Do I really have to research to get the actual numbers in a contract : Roof pitch to be 7/12 - 8/12 ??? (6/12 is just average, don't take this risk in Idaho if you are thinking about building a home here BTW) If you want to hire this builder, then our advice is to hire an inspector and check on every step in the process with their roofing, and so forth and so on, which would already be an adversarial relationship, good luck with that. You should have trust in a builder to be honest. They built part of the roof that is 3/12, unacceptable. They have done an number of many, many other things to save money and state that this is a "Custom Home".

I would also say that there is a noticeable way in how you are treated by interior stores when they know MB is building your house. We definitely didn't need the extra attention, but it seemed that every place we went to could not say enough good things about the company. Even at the end, our bank that serviced the loan was impressed with how well the project stayed on schedule. The job site was always impeccably clean, they use protective covering on everything to ensure that nothing is damaged and they focus on details. We look forward to living in our house for many years to come, but if we ever did build again, we would definitely use MB Builders.

The company's representative, Tyler, could not have been more helpful. He arrived as promised to assess the condition of the roof, take measurements and make recommendations. The estimate arrived in my inbox the next day and was a full $6,000 lower than what the first contractor proposed and lower still than the second company's estimate. Tyler's recommendation for the color of the shingles was perfect and compliments the colors of the house and Perrenoud's crew was great. Despite the fact there were 2 layers of shingles on this roof, water damage and a skylight that needed reframing, they finished the work in 2.5 days. This is a GAF roof with an exceptional warranty and will definitely outlast me.
