I went until I was sixteen and each year I stayed the entire time of eight weeks. Maplehurst was definitely the scene of some my greatest moments of all time. Someitmes, when I try to explain it to other people I always come back to one word, mystical. I could go into glorified details about the late nights, the first kiss, the first friend lost but every child in their life goes through these shape setting stages...I was just lucky enough to have them at Maplehurst. So, even when times were bad, and life felt tough I can always look back at those moments with fondness because of Maplehurst. I've met the best of friends there, and it seriously shaped me into the person I am today. Growing up in a cookie cutter town Maplehurst was my escape and allowed me to meet all kinds of people and experience "life on my own". I am not going to pretend that Maplehurst taught me hiking techniques, and survival skills for the mountains but it made my childhood happy, and it made my summers unforgettable. Maplehurst...I owe it all to you.

The camp has many housing offerings, and locations. Nice. This is camping and not at all glamping. No wi-fi nor mobile service for most cell phones. One can really get away from it all! I went to the Sierra Club Retreat, and we had many choices of lectures, craft offerings and animal observation opportunities. There was also an astronomer on site with large equipment to view the heavens both morning and evening. There is addition boating and tubing on Stoney Lake and River. The dorm rooms were clean, the shared facilities were also clean. The management pays attention to many cleanliness and activity details. Bravo!

The Camp staff knocked themselves out in order to provide a space for a child in need. Okay so I just got back yesterday from a winter weekend there there was lots o tho of things but a…read morefew bad things. When you go into the meadowlands/foxglove cabins there's so carpet or wood floor it's only concrete. And the bunk beds felt kind of like prison beds. And a few of their food items there were a bit questionable..though on the second day there it was alit more packed. The worship time was amazing everyone had lots of fun and there was plenty of space. I do wish everything wasn't as expensive..but it's camp so. Also I was a little bit hoping for a bathroom in our cabin but we had to share one and it didn't smell or look like it had been cleaned which is why we used the one in the sanctuary instead it's much nicer. The game room and the gym were really nice and the other places were to. It was pretty much really nice except for the bathroom near the cabins and the foxglove cabin.But I think I would go again in the summer maybe where there's more to do!

Being vegetarian I was scared there wouldn't be any options but they offered me veggie meats and what not. The staff is kind and friendly and they always have a great band and speaker for retreats. I'd highly recommend going here! They have inside and outside activities, from my knowledge they have re-ball, horse back riding, tubing, snow tubing, a zip line, and gym activities. They also have a room with air hockey, carpet ball, foosball, and a ping pong table. They also have a rock climbing wall, and with this stuff you'll never be bored!

Good management, highly qualified nurses station, great caretaker, Immaculate grounds, safe, fun, great food for the kids & staff. So many activities that we were wiped out at the end of each day. Growing up I always looked forward to spending my week at camp, making friends that I'm still friends with 20 years later. As a staff our training was always evolving to employ new bully recognition tactics, as well as fundamental safety and first aid training. The camp philosophy has increasingly incorporated taking care of ones' body & mind as well as the environment with higher quality meals and a tree-fort library to help keep kids reading during the summer, as well as all the standard summer camp activities to keep kids active.
