After visiting…read moremy neighborhood CVS pharmacy I inquired about the shot and learned that although they have the regular flu shot they were out of stock of the high dose one. The high dose flu shot is for people 65 and older and is covered by many health insurances because of age. I decided to call this location and sure enough they had just got two boxes of them in. I was planning on waiting until October to get mine but I thought I better not chance it. I drove over to this location which sits at a major intersection in McKees Rocks. I registered at the pharmacy and was told to wait until the private flu shot administration room had emptied out. After the people before me left a nice man named Dan was on hand to administer the vaccine. He told me that even though they had gotten a shipment in they were almost all out of them due to heavy demand. I was grateful to not only get the vaccine but also the age appropriate one. This CVS is one of the larger ones that service our area. The store is very clean and has a "minute clinic" if you need medical attention for certain criteria. Like all CVS, they honor the extracare card which will give you discounts and bounce back coupons at the register. Expect to pay more here than at your regular grocery store but that is the norm of all pharmacy stores. I was fortunate to find antibacterial hand soap which has been missing in the stores for a long time. It comes in a large bottle which you can section off for everyday use. They do have a drive through. They also do passport photos and will print photos if you wish to pick them up. In addition to home goods there is a limited supply of grocery items for sale and well as refrigerated items and business and medical items. Co-Vid 19 policies are in effect and they require masks. Sanitation is also done to insure safety. This location has a larger selection than the one I frequent so I may stop in here now and then whenever I'm looking for something that I can't find at my store.

This year, I saw the price on the website was slightly less than $10 for the same thing. In the store where I had to find it, it was even more, which I didn't know until I reached the cashier. The price in store was not marked. I was prepared for a price increase just not more than double. I was hoping no more than $7 which would have still been a generous price increase for the store on a product that has no tariffs. I am not a Walmart shopper because in general, I find their quality low and prices high. This was certainly true today.

The management doesn't seem to care and won't admit any fault. Walmart.com support won't offer any support and Corporate ignores every complaint.

The pharmacist/owner, Kyle, is doing something truly groundbreaking by providing access to medications at a lower cost without the need for insurance. He sees that the state of the pharmaceutical/insurance/healthcare industries is not doing any favors for the person they are all theoretically supposed to serve, the patient, and is on a mission to help the consumer by negotiating directly with suppliers. My dog has had major GI problems when we've tried a generic version of his medication. When I spoke with Kyle about this, he explained to me that what I would be getting through him is called an authorized generic. A company called Prasco, a leader in the authorized generic space, produces our exact same medication with the manufacturer's blessing but it comes to us under their label instead of GSK. Everything about the medication is otherwise the same. He was so knowledgeable that I took it on faith that this medication would be the same as the $500 brand name and told him my dog would let me know if it wasn't. That was a few months ago and we are now ordering our second inhaler through Blueberry, so suffice to say it is working out and we are thankful. We pay about $260 instead of $400-$500; I'll take it. Nothing unusual about this - it happens every time! I don't know why I keep expecting to have to wait. When I get there, the techs are friendly and totally on top of things. The pharmacist is knowledgeable and very easy to communicate with. Is it possible to enjoy going to the pharmacy? It sure is when it's here at this one! Love it!!

I had not seen this brand, Bolthouse, earlier. I had no idea of buying carrots but they were too tempting. Bought a 5 lb bag. There was a 1lb bag, it looked fresh, but the carrots were slightly smaller. Came home and grated a a little more than half of it for making an Indian dessert called "Gajar Halwa" It is a milk based pudding with carrots. I also grated another 3 large ones to make a fresh salad which we make at home with shredded carrot, shredded cheese, chopped red onions and chopped cilantro. Tasted the carrots as I was grating and they were sweet and fresh and delicious. We are going to enjoy our lunch today. Thanks to Walmart and Bolthouse for these carrots.

Pertaining to online orders and delivery: Two horrible…read moreexperiences in past 6 months. Most recent involved purchase and delivery of a Hamilton Beach spray iron, purchased on 8/13/26 and delivered on 8/14/26. The product was shipped in a flimsy, non-protective 'envelope' which afforded zero cushioning from jolting, dropping, throwing or stacking on truck, etc. When I opened the outside wrapping, I immediately observed a weathered-looking box that contained the iron. It was partially torn and dented in on one corner. Opening the box, I observed that the rear of the iron had partially separated from the unit and the wires were exposed. The box was missing packing materials and there was no sheet or leaflet with operating or registration directions which are typically included with the purchase of an electrical product. This led me to believe that the box had been previously opened and most likely returned to the store. There are obviously several issues of concern present in my experience; poor/careless quality control, improper shipping procedure, and most importantly, deceptive sales practice in leading consumer to trust that a 'new' product is being ordered and would be delivered. When I reported this to a live agent (which is a complicated process in itself), I received the customary and less-than heartfelt response of "I am sorry for your inconvenience, we'll be happy to make a return." A lesson learned for me, I will NEVER order ANYTHING from Walmart again. It is just not worth it. YELP HAS IDENTIFIED THIS REVIEW AS COMING FROM CA. NOT ACCURATE!
