The staff on the campus are very supportive, even the maintenance members were polite and motivating. This campus offers so much hands on training. I was in the Business Administration program and it was not the typical boring classes. Coming to the campus, I was very shy, but the class has broke me out of the shell to be ready to go out into the working world to be confident and knowledgeable. San Joaquin Valley College inspired me with their motivation and support to help new students at orientation and in class so they do not feel nervous or alone. SJVC also prepared me on how to be professional. The classes were challenging because it was at a fast pace, but the picture in my mind of graduating and being proud of myself, kept me motivated to keep on going. I feel great on entering and finishing with this campus, I came out a new different person from when I first began. Now they promised me, it would be all hands on experience but then switched it up to where it's hybrid, how does that make sense? I graduated in NOV 2025 and still haven't found a job thanks to their career service advisors who are suppose to have "connections" with companies. The former lead Career Service Advisor wasted my time and then decided to quit. The current Lead Career Service Advisor is just as useless as the former one. They waste your time in telling you to drop off your application and saying "oh we have an employer ready to interview" then when the student is ready to go, it changes to "the employer has rescheduled", what a fucking joke of school. Don't get me wrong, I've got interviews but through my own efforts, not the career advisor. Don't believe anything these people tell you. They will make fake promises and forget about you once your halfway through the year. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SCHOOLING, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THATS WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Several years ago I started the journey of re-visiting a supposed bill the FPU said I owed. I had been a full-time student and took 1 class in the fall 2010 semester, before taking a leave of absence. I was 100% financial aid student, as I had qualified for the Pell Grant and took out a loan, but somehow the school was stating that I owed $3231.11, when the total about of the class I took was $1418. At first I had problems getting a response from Stacie Benedict (Director of Student Financial Services), but then got met with even an unkind attitude. As I reasoned with Stacie with the logic, she realized a portion of their error and refunded $1300 to my loan holder, to which I will be responsible for even a higher interest rate, since they submitted 9 years later. Stacie still could not explain why they were still trying to charge me the entire cost of the class I already paid for in loans, so I left a voice mail for her supervisor Jon Endicott, but Jon would not respond to me. I reached out again finding out Stacie was no longer there, but that Chad Boling was handling her concerns; but since I filed a complaint with Federal Student Aid, Chad would not be willing to speak to me. I then reached out to the University president Joseph Jones, left him a voicemail, but he didn't call me back, but had David Richards (Director of Student Financial Services) email me. Now I am being offered a $2000 payoff deal instead of the $1418 offered earlier in the year, but still do not have anyone capable of explaining why I supposedly own more than full price on a class that I took out loans for. This has been going on for years, and it makes it more difficult to be investigated since they are private, and I can't get my transcripts released until I pay them whatever figure that they currently stating.

The counselors at this school have been extremely unhelpful. They are rarely available, and their…read moreinteractions often leave students feeling dismissed rather than supported. Appointments are frequently canceled with little regard for the student's time, often less than an hour before they are supposed to take place. These last‑minute cancellations force students to rearrange their schedules, only to be told they must wait nearly another month for the next available appointment, even when the original meeting was booked weeks in advance. Their actions suggest that genuine student support is not a priority. Better luck just praying than get any support.
