The supervisor came by and was frustrated that she was taking to long. She said, let me show you how to do it. Took the electric shears. Within in one minute she was done. I've spoken to a representative who asks me questions and then says they will reach out to me but they never do. This has happened over 3x, why aren't they following up? Unprofessional in my opinion.

Now they promised me, it would be all hands on experience but then switched it up to where it's hybrid, how does that make sense? I graduated in NOV 2025 and still haven't found a job thanks to their career service advisors who are suppose to have "connections" with companies. The former lead Career Service Advisor wasted my time and then decided to quit. The current Lead Career Service Advisor is just as useless as the former one. They waste your time in telling you to drop off your application and saying "oh we have an employer ready to interview" then when the student is ready to go, it changes to "the employer has rescheduled", what a fucking joke of school. Don't get me wrong, I've got interviews but through my own efforts, not the career advisor. Don't believe anything these people tell you. They will make fake promises and forget about you once your halfway through the year. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SCHOOLING, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THATS WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY. SJVC IS A GREEDY PRIVATE COLLEGE THAT ONLY CARES ABOUT YOUR MONEY.

I attended the Institute of Technology (IOT) in Clovis, and unfortunately, my experience was…read morenothing like I expected--especially considering the nearly $20,000 tuition. Unlike many students, I did not qualify for financial aid, which meant I paid for my education out of pocket. Looking back, I don't feel the program came close to providing that value. I was enrolled in the Industrial Maintenance program, and it lacked organization, consistency, and proper structure. During my time there, two instructors left, making it difficult to have a stable learning environment. Instead of receiving thorough instruction and hands-on training, it often felt like we were expected to memorize answers rather than truly understand the material. The lack of equipment was one of the biggest disappointments. For a program centered around industrial maintenance, there was very little equipment available for students to learn on. Welding, which was originally part of the curriculum, was eventually removed from the program. Considering the cost of tuition, I expected access to a well-equipped training facility, but that wasn't my experience. There were also moments that made me question how seriously the program was being run. On one occasion, I witnessed an instructor fall asleep during class. The administration also seemed disconnected. I rarely saw leadership actively involved with students, and I often felt concerns were not taken seriously. After leaving IOT, I enrolled in the Industrial Maintenance program at Fresno City College. The difference has been incredible. Even though FCC's program is free, it offers significantly more equipment, better organization, stronger instruction, and far more opportunities for students. The photo I've included is from Fresno City College, and it clearly shows the difference. In my experience, IOT didn't have anywhere near the amount of equipment available for students to learn with. It was discouraging realizing how much money I had spent for so little in comparison. Something else that concerned me happened after I left the school. I met a former IOT instructor outside of the school who shared an experience with me. According to what they told me, there was a student who attended only four days of the entire program, and they were allegedly pressured to pass that student because the school did not want to lose the student's financial aid funding. Hearing it from someone who said they worked there was deeply concerning and, in my opinion, consistent with the lack of accountability I experienced as a student. I was not surprised to say the least. Overall, I left feeling like I had been misled. Based on my experience, I believe the Industrial Maintenance program did not deliver the education or training that its tuition promised. I hope IOT takes student feedback seriously and invests more into its technical programs instead of expecting students to accept less than they paid for. If you're considering attending the Industrial Maintenance program at IOT, I encourage you to visit other schools first, compare the facilities, ask detailed questions, and make an informed decision before investing your time and money.
