They handled my father's cremation with professionalism and kindness, and they went above and beyond in supporting my mom through everything. Marcus, in particular, was incredibly patient and helpful. We visited the day after Good Friday, and due to a mix-up with the post office in our small Oregon Coast town, the death certificates weren't delivered properly. Marcus took the time to help my mom navigate the situation with empathy and clarity, easing a lot of stress during a confusing time. Everyone we interacted with was kind, honest, and helpful. If you ever find yourself needing support during such a serious and emotional time, we highly recommend this team. Thank you again for your compassion and guidance.

A few months ago, my mom finally hit the last road bump in her cancer journey. After she had some…read moreliver and pancreatic complications, she passed within just a few days of transitioning to hospice from the hospital. My dad ended up picking this funeral center to take care of her affairs. When she died, they gave us as long as we needed for family and friends to visit. My dad called when we were ready to have her picked up. The staff was very gentle and careful with her as they transferred her to the stretcher and took her down the stairs. The transporters were very respectful the entire time. Shortly after that, we had a fairly new representative come to our house to speak with my dad, sister, and I. I could tell as he went over the decisions we had to make, from the casket to the flowers, that he did not have a strong grip on the questions we brought up. He had to call the supervisor a few times to verify the details. He also tried to push extra add ons that we insisted we did not need. When he left the house, I just felt more confused than ever about the preliminary choices we made. This process made me feel unsupported in a situation where it felt like we were planning a wedding in a week. When we met with our actual rep Aimee in the office, she went through the schedule, clarified what we really wanted, what services we were looking for, and helped solidify the final price. On the day everything was finalized, we got to get a sneak peak of mom. I cannot say that her makeup was a good representation of how she really looked when she lived. The foundation helped cover up her jaundice pretty well. However the eyes and lips were too dark and contrasted. And her neck was sagging pretty badly in one spot. We asked for the correction to make her look more natural and put together. I know they tried but I was still not pleased with the final look. As the actual wake and funeral came and went however, Aimee and her assistant were always present. They respected the fusion of both the Catholic and Vietnamese tradition. They moved around and brought items in on command. They were very helpful with coordinating and streamlining the crowd. Basically everything we asked for, we got. I felt comfortable enough to take my fort off the gas petal and was just able to be with my mom and family. At the end of the week, they took her body to the cremation center, where my dad and I got to push the start button. The staff there was very accommodating of all the family that wanted to attend. They were very patient with our grieving and praying. I thought that this was the finale of the services. But in the aftermath, Aimee showed up at Mt. Calvary to put mom to rest. Her presence and support was greatly appreciated. I have no personal experience with a funeral process of an immediate family member before this. There were certainly ups and downs, some bumps in the road, but most everything ended as well as I could have hoped for. They were able to coordinate all these moving pieces in a short period of time. And having Aimee by our side was the high point of our experience with this company. It takes a special kind of person to be able to involved the way she is, with all types of people and situations. My mother was everything to me. She had sacrificed so much immigrating to America after losing everything. She raised me primarily by herself when I was young. And she never left my side until the day she died. The gravity of death is never easy, so it was nice to have accommodating, supportive, and responsive staff behind us. I hope not to, but would consider their services again in the future. Thank you.

During a time of grief and confusion after my father's death, they were such a comfort. Susan kept me up to date on every step of the process, from the moment they were notified of his passing. Susan made herself available via email most any time of the day. Often I would send an email with a question late at night, and I was shocked to receive an almost immediate response from her as she was answering emails from home. This made me feel cared for as an individual, and not just a job to complete during business hours. The staff, especially Susan went out of her way to accommodate my busy schedule, and made sure we had everything we needed well before the funeral services. Death is a subject that we often avoid discussing, but it is important to let your loved ones know what your wishes are. Smart cremation offers a pretty payment plan which my dad used. He had the entire process paid for in advance. Just to make sure his death wouldn't be a financial burden on us. This service also took all of the guess work out of things. We weren't faced with making that decision and trying to make arrangements while we were grieving. We simply gave the hospital the card provided by Smart cremation and they took care of everything from there. It was a great comfort knowing that our dad was being cared for with great care and respect. A huge thank you to Smart cremation for making a horrible time in our lives a lot easier to handle.
