My partner, our friends, family member, and I were fortunate to visit on a really clear, sunny day during our golf cart tour in September.  From the observation point on the western edge, the Terrace of the Pincio overlooks the Piazza del Popolo extending to the dome of St. Peter's Basilica, making a unique and stunning panorama in the world. Unfortunately from the 16th to 19th century this place became a public execution site. Yikes. The most famous execution was Giordano Bruno in 1600, in which there is now a statue in his honor for freedom of thought. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts. Pass forward to present day. This area is lively with the open air markets where you can find vendors selling produce, flowers, spices, cheese, and artisanal goods. My boyfriend and I came here to explore the live market and also to look for souvenirs to bring home. The vendors here are really aggressive and I would have enjoyed it more if they gave me space to look instead of hound me to buy buy buy. Like chill dude can I look at what I'm buying. Sigh. We were here til closing time and even get to see how the vendors efficiently and quickly packed up their stalls and belongings to wrap up for the day. And of course... a great area to enjoy some gelato.

I had only been on a Vespa twice before so choosing the 50cc was the best choice for me and my friend. The scariest thing is not driving the machine but navigating it through traffic. And I only say scary to those that are hesitant drivers. Italiens have places to go and be so drive with the flow of traffic and make sure you know where you're going and GO! The owners were really really kind and helpful and answered all the questions we had. I intend on visiting Rome again and I will 100% rent from the same business if I have the opportunity!

Originally,…read moreI thought their representations were "accidental" but they consistently have issues with (1) availability of the product you reserve - when you show up they tend to have less powerful models that do not have enough power to move with traffic in busy Rome; (2) their equipment is older and god knows they do not even disinfect their helmets so bring your own or don't rent from them in the Covid-19 age; and (3) when they say they will credit you for the issues, don;t count on it. They wouldn't honor it with me and Visa would not even address the issues because the company makes you sign their agreement which then negates the ability to contest charges with Visa. As an alternative another disgruntled customer let me know of another company that is right by the Termini station. i tried them and I like them a lot. They have a better selection and are reasonably forgiving if you are a few minutes late to return as it can sometimes be hard to meander your way around Rome's streets. Best part, they are only about 1/2 mile from "My Vespa". If you search scooter rentals termini you should find the other place.
