I only gave them 1 star because no stars is an option. I absolutely had the worst customer service here today. In the past 6 years taking photos here I never had a problem until today. They took their time, they stood around giggling instead of utilizing a room on waiting clients. Then they had the audacity to rush me while I was taking my photos, and while I was in the decision phase of buying them. I will NEVER ON EARTH BRING MY KIDS OR MYSELF HERE AGAIN!!! read more

Our family tries to take seasonal and birthday portraits. We do 3 birthdays plus Spring and Christmas every year. Our regular studio shut down in 2016 and we'd been having issues finding a replacement. Enter this place - we tried to do a Christmas shoot in November 2017. We made an appointment and like everybody else who has left a review it seems, we were forced to wait over 2 hours before we were brought in for pictures. Try to imagine the state of perfectly done hair and pressed clothing for 3 kids under 8 after waiting for almost 3 hours. Despite this we took some good pictures and then went to what I will forever refer to as the "You have to be kidding me" chair. This is the seat in front of the computer monitors, similar to most studios where they go through the picture options and try to upsell... BE ADVISED, any *decent* package from this awful place STARTS at $300 for maybe 3 pictures. After much haggling and stressful insistence by my wife, we weren't able to get the prices knocked down, but we got many of the pictures added to hardcover albums we gave to our parents. We got no pictures though - just one canvas print of the whole family and those books for ~$400 and almost 4 hours at the studio. No digital copies, no 5x7's or wallets, no 8x10's. We did our spring portraits at a different place since we were traveling for Spring Break (2018). My son's birthday is always at the same time. My wife and I decided that maybe the Christmas fiasco was an anomaly since it was a seasonal rush and we were willing to give portrait innovations a 2nd chance. I can scarcely believe it, but this time, it was EVEN WORSE. It was so bad, my wife called me in actual TEARS after her experience with my son's birthday portrait. First, she called in and talked over packages. The representative assured her there were many packages in our price range (about $150). My wife was early to the appointment, and still was pushed back over 2 hours. There were no birthday backgrounds or any remarkable studio props to indicate our son's age, just a block with a "7" on it. My wife had brought a few of his favorite toys which apparently confused the photographer because my wife found herself directing my son, and then instructing the photographer to take pictures. This wouldn't have been so bad... She said the entire session was maybe 20 minutes. They took about 60 pictures, most of which were great. After choosing about a half-dozen for a 16x20 portrait and a modest collage, she was quoted a price of almost SIX-HUNDRED DOLLARS. She said it took about a minute for her to understand what was happening it was so unbelievable. I listened to 30 minutes of pleading and crying after her experience which I assume was comparable to the rest of her time in this torture chamber. What we ended up with was a very average 8x10" portrait of our handsome son holding the number 7 block, and what I can only describe as the worst collage of 3 pictures ever put together in the history of mankind. The photographer was unable to caption anything, the 3 pictures in the collage are not evenly spaced, nor spaced in a way that makes any geometric sense. Despite the photos blended into the collage background with a vignette, one of the pictures of my son has the top of his head cut off. Additionally, the collage was printed at 16x20, but the photos were scaled down to 3x5, so almost the entire collage is flat white, with the vignette making the tiny pictures of my son look like he's holding legos in a blizzard. Just completely terrible, my very first attempt with a photo editor was miles better than this slop. All for the bargain basement price of $160. It appears the Portrait Innovations business model is to use non-photographers, sub-standard software and extreme waiting tactics to bully customers into purchasing overpriced photos that customers don't really want. Maybe the $600 package offers something we might like, but my wife didn't want to go through that since there was no way we were going to spend that much money. I suspect the 3 hour process, regardless of appointment time is designed to create a psychological condition whereby the unsuspecting parent is forced to try and rationalize wasting half a Saturday to take unreasonably priced pictures by non-photographers, and not buying any. I mean if you're going to burn up 3-4 hours, you should have something to show for it right? I'm sure these "photographers" are paid by commission, there are no affordable packages at this awful place and we will never be going there again. We could've waited for 90 minutes less time and got the same package - probably a better collage - from JC Penney for $60. Avoid this horrible place unless you just like wasting time and money. read more

Grateful that the studio came highly recommended by a friend. If I only had the reviews on here to go by my daughter and I would have missed a great experience. Lauren was our photographer and she was wonderful. Excellent customer service from beginning to end. My daughters graduation pictures were top notch. I'll certainly be back as well as recommend them to my friends and family. read more

If I could give this location NO STARS I would!!! Went to this location to have family portraits done for the summer. When I went to pick up the Free canvas and hard cover book, I was running a few minutes late and called the location to let them know I was trying to get there before they closed. The manager was dry, short, rude, and stated we lock the doors "RIGHT AT 6PM!" We spent over 4 1/2 HOURS in her establishment with absolutely no complaints and I was not even able to ask if you could hold on for 1-2 mins...this is what your customers get??? I hung up!!! IT GETS WORSE!!! I pulled up to the location at 5:59PM and the doors were already LOCKED and lights out! I knocked and was let in....the manager said the computers turn off automatically at 6PM (really), I said can you use the email confirmation I was holding, she said they have over 7000 pictures to look through (really). My response....wait for it! "I can wait". She went to the back and came right back out directly/immediately with my things. Oh and when they turned the lights back on, the other lady there began sweeping, which means they turned the lights out just so they would not be able to assist me, and they were not even done with their cleaning! Who goes out there way to not help their customers??? This manager should be fired! :( read more

My husband and I had pictures taken with our 4 grandchildren at the Houston - Champions Village location this past Sunday. The children were not the most cooperative, but the photographer was very, very patient and we actually got some very good pictures! However, I feel we were misled during the picture selection process. The salesperson knew that we wanted a Hi-Res CD and we bought the poses needed to get that, but when we got home we realized that ONLY THE POSES that we bought were hi-resolution ... all of the other photos were low-res. I believe we should have received that information BEFORE we finalized our purchase. So I was left with a slightly disappointed taste in the experience!! read more

Terrible...Terrible wait times when people schedule appointments especially for children most likely we are scheduling keeping naps and temperaments in mind. When someone shows up for a 12:50 appointment and you don't start taking pictures until 2:30 you can only expect that a 3 and 2 year old are not going to cooperate luckily my 9 month old just ate otherwise he would have been upset as well. To think the staff acted as if my kids were annoying them. I was told by my photographer that we are supposed to get 60 shots we were only able to get about 30 and had to struggle to pick an option from that. Next time I will look for a photographer that is able to adhere to a schedule I won't dare put my kids through that foolishness again. read more
