they will charge you for time the technician is sitting in their car "writing up the report" that was inaccurate.

Flat out dishonest people. Asked multiple times for a quote, including when the guys got here. They told me they were charging 19.97 to set up the appt but that turns out to be a monthly subscription that I NEVER agreed to. Never received a quote- every email was blank with the quote being ZERO (see below). they charged me $2300+ to replace a wire harness on a 28' trailer 2 people when I already had a quote for under $500.00 2.5 hours of labor and parts (under 120.00 for a harness). The kicker is after all this one side does NOT work. They have violated so many laws including charging my card without my permission. I wish I read the reviews first. This is long but please read! Since the company is now ignoring my emails - I recently hired Poseidon to come check out my Cobalt. I knew there was a fuel leak and assumed it was the fuel lines. I spoke with Chase and explained to him the boat was not taken care of by my dad and it needed to be completely looked over since I wasn't sure that was it. And very specifically told him, if it was a major issue such as the tank - I wasn't going to fix it and let my dad deal with it when he returned to the state. The tech was supposed to arrive at 8, showed up around 9:40. About 5 hours later, I was told fuel line was replaced, fuel/water filter replaced, good to go. I was shocked at a $1300 bill but ok, it was fixed. Well it was not. I have on my ring camera approximately 90 minutes of him sitting in his truck, and when I went to put gas in the boat it once again began leaking from the hull. $75 worth of gas gone. I called, they sent out a new tech, who was great, and within 15 minutes saw it was leaking from the tank. The first tech obviously didn't diagnose the problem correctly, and then replaced and charged me for unnecessary parts and labor. How did he check to make sure the issue was resolved? I then received a $600 bill from the second tech coming out to re diagnose what the initial tech didn't check. I have sent 2 emails and called and have received no response so I am now and contacting the BBB and reporting them for fraudulent charges of labor costing me an additional $300ish in labor that was not performed. RUN, do not walk away from this service. I contracted with Poseidon Marine to come onsite and take care of three services on my boat (radio/trim tab install/outboard service). In addition to a monthly membership fee that was charged / positioned as a credit card authorization for service, the technician that arrived had no idea what he was doing. With initial concerns about installing new trim tabs (he thought my Garmin GPS transducer on the back of the boat was a trim tab) and outboard maintenance, I asked him to just move forward on replacing my existing stereo unit with a new one already onsite. I stopped back by in 2 hours (at $225 / hr) to find that he had only taken off the motor cowl (?), removed several access panels on the boat and unscrewed 6 bolts on the center console dash removing the gauge panel and radio. Having concerns that it took 2 hours to unscrew 6 screws on a console, I asked for the service to be stopped at 4 hours total ($875 + the membership fee) knowing at that time the radio could possibly be installed, but not likely. 4 hours in and I have no radio installed, 6 screws that I paid $875 + to be removed and had to reattach and install the new radio myself (which ended up taking me 45 minutes to do). You are much better off taking your boat to a stereo business that charges $150/250 to swap out a stereo head unit and brick / mortar marine service company that can install trim tabs in 3 hours or so at $600/700. I will say that they took a lot of photos of the boat and materials that I supplied that were supposed to be installed. The report noted additional work that needed to be done that I could pay them $225 an hour for. Most of which, as a boat owner, you already know are there and need to ultimately be dealt with. Their location(s) in Florida may be perfectly fine, but the group in Coastal / South Georgia is terrible. Total scam. read more

Extremely unethical and deceptive billing practices. I contacted this company only to check technician availability. I was explicitly told they could not provide availability unless I signed an order form and provided a credit card -- even though no service was authorized. They stated they would call back with available times. That never happened. Instead, I received a text at 12:30 PM stating a technician would arrive at 12:30 PM -- the exact moment the text was sent. I immediately called and told them we did not authorize service and only wanted to know availability. I was told the appointment could be canceled because the technician had not left yet. Two hours later, I received another text saying a technician was on the way, and at 2:30 PM someone arrived at my home. My wife informed them to leave because we never approved service. Despite this, the company charged over $650 for no work performed and has since refused to return calls. This appears to be a deliberate tactic to force service charges without consent. I have texts, call records, and video documenting the entire incident and will be reporting this to the Florida Attorney General, BBB, and any other applicable consumer protection agencies. Scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for a small 2" gelcoat chip repair and to re-glue some vinyl seating in the cockpit. No work was performed and no services were provided. I was then sent an invoice for nearly $821.81 simply for them coming out to look at the boat. There was no clear disclosure beforehand that an estimate would cost this much. After disputing the charge, the bill was reduced to $583.25, but even that is excessive for an estimate visit alone. Very disappointing experience. I would strongly recommend getting all fees in writing before scheduling anything. read more

Charged me 800 plus dollars to get a diagnostic test done. These guys are straight out crooks that are gauging any one with a boat. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. I am calling agencies to get involved, something needs to be done to stop this extreme charging. Jason was at my house today to perform an inspection of a boat I just bought Used. Jason was there at 8am as promised and spent the entire morning going over the boatt from Stem to Stern. He was very through and went over the changes that were required and should be done. He took Photos and I was contacted by the Service dept. to see what and when the service can be done. Do not waste your time and money. They are scammers. Updates on my situation, it has been 1 year since they serviced our jet ski. Still not working. They make you pay the parts first but last time we paid and the Mechanic said he didn't use the parts we ordered so I asked for refund and now they don't answer the phone or call me back. Called many times and no answer . Left few messages and no call back. They will take the time so we pay $199 per hour. Few times they stay for 8 hours and still didn't fix. As others have stated, STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! I had a tech come and assist me with getting my boat to a ramp to trailer it. He was here for about 1.5 hours and I got charged $1,002 without my consent or notification. They say they need a credit card for a deposit but this is a scam to simply charge whatever they want without permission or any sort of breakdown of charges. They do not return calls and I've referred them to my credit card company for a dispute. Be forewarned, they will rip you off! read more

SCAM ALERT!!! They charge you 19 for appointment fee. But when they take that they put a reoccuring fee on you bank account. That way they can take more money without authorization. I called about a broken steering cable. Two hours plus parts I was told. The tech sat around for two hours on my dock waiting on a call then drove for two hours to get a part. I was told I only pay for the time he actually works on ski. That was two hours as i expected. Well turns out they billed me for all the wait time and drive time. 2600 they billed me. I'm disappointed in this company scamming elderly people. This was for a jet ski, and I already knew the steering cable needed to be replaced before they even arrived. They charged me a $19 appointment fee, but also set it up with my bank as recurring charges without properly explaining it. I did not approve a recurring charge. When the technician arrived, it took him about five minutes to determine the steering cable was broken. After that, he sat outside for over an hour on the phone about the part. I was specifically told I would only be paying for the time actually spent working on the ski. Later I was told he needed to drive an hour away to get the part. I asked why they couldn't just have the part delivered and come back once they had it. He said that might be possible and he would check. Instead, he left for over two hours and then came back without my knowledge. He worked on the ski for about an hour and a half total once I noticed he was back (I checked my Ring cameras to see when he arrived). I was billed $2,600 without notice which included all the sitting time and drive time that I clearly said I would not pay for. To make matters worse, because they set up recurring payments, they were able to take the money without my approval first, giving me no chance to dispute the charges beforehand. Was very hard to schedule, asked for an est. they will only give you hours not cost, don't bring all the parts they need so the can come back and charge you for another trip. Don't expect them to let you know they have arrived or even tell you when they leave. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE Received our bill and in less than 24 hours get a threatening text message to turn us into authorities and claims because we hadn't paid our bill in less then 24 hours. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!! My father recently reached out to get the electical components looked at on his pontoon boat. Javier showed up, plugged in two gages, claimed to work 2 hours on a fish finder that he was told not to touch, reported all of the wiring passed inspection despite several issues, and ultimately claimed that what should have been a solid 1 hour worth of work took him 8 hours. BUT THAT'S NOT EVEN THE WORST PART!!! He then charged my father over $1,600 for the work and claimed his credit card wasn't working so that he could pull directly from the debit. He is a thief... Plain and simple. His ploy to steal money far exceeds his knowledge and ability to fix anything on a boat. The company was responsive to all requests until the charge was taken. BEWARE!!! I was visiting Florida and had trouble starting a jet ski. I called Poseiden and they quoted me over $1000 to come out and service the jet ski. I put the order on hold and fixed the problem myself. In order to get the lowest quote the said they needed my credit card info but the would not charge for repairs unless the work was done. What they failed to say was that to get a lower, but still very ridiculous quote, they were enrolling me in a monthly membership for $19.97. I had no idea. It took me 4 months to figure out what that $19.97 charge was because for the first three months the vendor making the charge showed differently. When I finally figured out who was making the charge, they refused to reverse the charges and also had the audacity to tell me that I had gotten a deal because for the past two months new "memberships were now $30 a month. I live in Wisconsin and never knowingly would sign up for a service in Florida when I have only been there once with no plans to return. Their scam is telling you they can get you a better quote if they have your credit card info on file while reassuring you that you won't be charged for repairs if you do not follow through with the service. They conveniently leave out the part about enrolling you in a monthly service plan. I wish I had the time to research them in advance as it looks like their predatory practices have gotten plenty of people before me. I hope Florida officials investigate and shut these people down as others have suggested. read more

Poseidon Marine came out to evaluate a issue with my small boat engine. They grossly overstated the time that they spent working the problem, and left not having resolved it. I disputed the charges, and went back-and-forth with their customer service people for weeks. Ultimately, I gave up and allowed them to rip me off for $1200. Beware! read more

I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere before using Poseidon Mobile Marine. I was billed for 2.5 hours where no actual repair work was being performed -- it was simply waiting time. Being charged for non-productive hours is unacceptable, especially at marine service rates. After spending $3,300, my motor is still not fixed. Instead of resolving the issue, I was presented with an additional estimate of roughly $3,000 for a fuel pump, labor, and further diagnostics. That would bring my total close to $6,500 with no guarantee of a working motor. When I questioned the excessive billing, I requested a refund for the hours I believe were improperly charged. Rather than correcting the invoice, they offered a credit toward a future service appointment -- which requires me to spend even more money with them. That is not a solution. Because of this, I have disputed the charges with my credit card company. Very disappointed with the outcome, the billing practices, and the lack of accountability. read more

HORRIBLE experience with this company in Key Largo, Florida. I was charged for over SEVEN hours of work and $3,600+ to replace two batteries in my 22-foot center console boat sitting conveniently on a hoist. Really??? My "emergency response" visit got moved from Thursday to Saturday, then to later on Saturday...all by THEM. So much for "emergency response." In trying to get the job done, I bounced from their Sales department to the Service department....no single point of contact. When their service "tech" arrived, he said he wasn't authorized to talk with me...the customer. I had basic questions, but... I paid them $2,000 for parts on December 30th they still haven't provided parts but made a service date for the 24th of January. When I called about the service date I then found out the parts still weren't in but they made an appointment for February the 24th. So on the 24th of February there's a no-show from the mechanic so I called again and again and again and finally talk to someone who said the parts weren't in this is a screwed up company. Since then I have made approximately 20 phone calls and can't get a answer can't get a refund on my $2,000. They took my old tilt and trim unit and I can't get that back either so now they're stealing my parts. The mechanic showed up was part-time his main business is pressure washing, after rebuilding the carburetors he started up the boat in my garage and flooded it out who does that. After talking to David and customer service said he'd get right on it I haven't heard anything back and he won't answer my calls. I've called every number the company has no one will answer I've left messages with Sean McKenzie emailed the owner Hunter tried to start a chat on their website and no response as well. It's time to go another route I'm going to file a claim against her business license and report them to the better Business bureau which I doubt they are a member of. So now I've been without The use of my boat for 2 months they don't seem to care. I've also noticed that you can't leave a review on their website now I know why. They gave me an estimate for a standard service for $450 for a 25hp tiller. When the techs showed,they remarked how clean the motor looked and upon examination needed nothing. Then I saw an additional email stating $650 for standard service and service call. The parts for the service were $149, to change lower unit seals/waterproof for a 25hp Johnson, an additional $875. Beware - Learn from My Mistake I can now fully relate to the many 1-star reviews already posted here. Please read this before you consider using their services. I submitted an online request, entered the year/model of my trailer, described the work needed, and uploaded photos. A service rep called to schedule, asking for my credit card upfront "so parts could be ordered ahead of time." I agreed, thinking it meant they'd show up prepared. The technician arrived at 9am, but he hadn't even seen the photos I uploaded. After walking him through the issues, I left for work and called the shop to make sure they sent him the photos. A little later, I got a call asking to remove the tire for inspection. Then at 11am, they told me the leaf springs and hubs needed replacing. The estimate was about $650 for parts and 3 hours of labor at $195/hr -- just over $1,200. Since the tech was already there, I reluctantly approved. When I got home at 5pm, his truck was still in front of my house. He had spent most of the day waiting out rain in his truck, and when he did work, it was clear he wasn't prepared. I even lent him jack stands, lubricant, and a stronger impact gun -- only one of which he actually used. The next day, I received a call from "Kurry" informing me the total was now over $3,000. Completely outrageous -- yet consistent with the horror stories others have shared. I ended up arguing with multiple employees, including one who even threatened to call the Sheriff (a tactic I later saw mentioned in another review). Without my approval, they charged my card and now I will have to spend time attempting to dispute. Like many others here, I feel scammed.
