Parking is plentiful and there are just the right amount of picnic tables and benches nestled among the greenery and trees. Del Prado Park has a basketball court, swings and play structures for both big and little kids. But the best feature of the park is the large concrete slide. On any given day, you'll spot neighborhood kids learning about the laws of physics on this slide, and there are usually large pieces of cardboard, mostly from packing boxes, lying around to aid them in their play. The park is safe and free of pass-through traffic, and the people are super-friendly. So whether you're visiting or have just moved into town, come on over. And be sure to bring some cardboard boxes, preferably broken down, if you do. The neighborhood kids will thank you!

There is a tiny play structure for young kids in the back behind a community house or club house. That is it. The design is odd. Somehow there is a preschool or daycare or something in the middle of the park. I've never seen this before. What I would guess is a private school in the middle of a public park? Never heard of before. To make things even more strange there is a pool area all fenced off that doesn't appear to be part of the park 'Amador Community.' There is a separate name and parking lot. The play structure for kids is in the last corner of the park. Almost as if it was an afterthought. I can only imagine the city wanted this green area for looks. From the street it appears to look nice... but once you go into it you see how it isn't functional. The grass is in great condition and the trees pleasant - but I'd like to see better use of the area. Make the field useful for soccer or football. Fence off a small area for dogs. Get rid of that preschool unless it is a public one. That needs to go.

There is one colorful kids play structure, and a large grass field, great for practicing baseball. Because of the corona crisis the playground is currently closed, but I can still see how modern it is. There is a modern bathroom facility here as well, with a drinking faucet close by. The parking lot is pretty small with only spaces for about a dozen cars. The day that I visited several families were playing catch near the baseball structure, and another family was having a picnic. The park has a few picnic tables I noticed. The park is quite close to an entrance to the Iron Horse Trail. So overall, a pleasant, modern facility. It makes a nice asset to this modern neighborhood.

It's a large park with a lot of amenities, including a large kids playground. Of course, they have the usual swings, and a large play structure that kids can climb in. If you want to have a picnic, there are many BBQs as well as picnic tables. This park would make a delightful location for a birthday party or celebration. The best feature is a kids zipline. It works fantastic. When was the last time you saw a zipline in a park? I've always wanted to do a zipline. In travel magazines I read about tourists zip-lining over volcanoes or alligators or sharks. It sounds so exciting! Anyway, this zip line is just like those other ones, except there are no alligators or volcanoes. The city of Dublin has almost no volcanoes. A father was kind enough to have his son demonstrate it for me. The line is a little slanted--it works just like a real zipline! They also have a tennis court as well as a volleyball lot. Both are well-maintained and look brand new. There's a beautiful metal sculpture in the center of the park. "It's called Diamonds In The Wind." The park is named after Dublin resident, Army Staff Sergeant Sean Diamond, who was killed while serving in Iraq in 2009. Bravo, Bravo! This is one of those more attractive parks in the city of Dublin. I just wish they had a zip line for adults. Maybe it would work for me if I just pulled up my legs...
