Upon my consultation, she made sure to note all aspects of my health and past eating habits, and created a delicious customized meal plan based on my preferences, as I am primarily plant based. These plans also integrate meal prep into them, which has reduced my snacking tendencies, as I can just grab my prepped meals from the fridge. I had lung cancer since 2014. I did surgery chemo and radiation. And in 2017 they said it was in my…read morespine.  In Nov 2021, I was in the hospital, they said I had blood clots. But the blood clot medication was not working. I had to be in the hospital on the IV for 3 days.  I couldn't move, drive, walk, I was in a wheel chair. Then they said my chemo stopped working. Then I started to wear all of the Photo Therapy patches you recommended. I did those every day faithfully.  I lived with my sister, because she was taking care of me. Now I take care of myself, I can walk, run, I can drive. I am able to do work around the house. And fully take care of myself. So I moved out of my sisters house. And a lot of my protocols that I was doing before, went by the wayside. I wasn't doing all the things I was doing in my therapy. And I started to feel something was off. So I remembered what I was doing before. And one thing was the patches. I started to wear them again, and have been wearing them for 2.5 weeks again. I have a lot more energy now. I was wearing patches for 3-4 month, in 2022. After that, in Nov 2022, they did X rays, and the doctor said that my lungs look better than 2021.  I have a girlfriend who is doing chemo and she said, I wish I did what you did, take my health into my own hands. And do all these alternative protocols.  I did chemo 4 times before and it didn't work. And it made me extremely exhausted.  My Chiropractor told me, you look like walking death. He thought I was going to die that year. And now I can run. I breathe better. I have more energy. I can drive, which is huge. I take care of myself. And my Chiropractor said I want to know everything you are doing. What I would say to a person who is curious but scared, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The patches regenerate your stem cells. I haven't seen any products that can do that. That's what intrigued me because you need new stem cells all the time when you have cancer.

We didn't really connect on an emotional/psychological level and her hyper rational approach didn't always work for me. Having someone to be accountable to is always helpful, but I didn't feel like I was getting much insight beyond what I've read in books or online. What really tripped me up was her cancellation policy. I had to pre-pay for my time with her and when we weren't connecting and I didn't think I had much more to learn from her, I still had to pay for the two months of sessions I no longer wanted to attend. It's her policy and that's fine, it just really didn't work out for me and I would have loved some recourse for the situation I found myself in.

As a well informed person, for a long time I "knew" what I "should" be eating but was never able to "consistently implement" any change in eating habits. I wish someone had clearly explained what the appointment actually entails, so I will. You change into scrubs upon arrival and I was seen quickly by a nurse who did an EKG, hearing test, urinalysis, measured height/weight, and did a blood draw. Throughout the process, there was little explanation of what was happening even when I asked. During the hearing test, the door was left open and there were loud noises in the hallway, which likely skewed the results. I also fasted beforehand (as I've been instructed to do for every other blood test in my life except this one) for my afternoon appointment and asked to be notified when I was good to eat my granola bar - she never let me know. After that, I waited about an hour to see the doctor. She reviewed lifestyle habits (exercise, diet, sleep, anxiety, social habits), but much of the advice felt generic. She also strongly pushed veganism/vegetarianism, which was very off-putting to me. The physical exam included a breast exam and a very brief dermatology check (under a minute), and she noted she wasn't a dermatologist and recommended seeing one annually anyway (???). I learned that vitamin and mineral testing isn't included in the blood test unless specifically requested despite the "comprehensive" branding. I also asked about a DEXA scan (advertised on their website) but was told I wasn't eligible. I finished my appointment by receiving a tetanus shot, which I was due for. My test results with generic comments from the doctor came back within a few days. The facilities were clean and spacious and there's an illusion of being a luxurious experience, but overall this felt far less thorough than advertised. For me, this is a one-and-done and I'd rather stick with my primary care doctor and specialists for annual exams.
