We live in Lexington and take our two big dogs to Camp when we visit family in Owensboro. I have also driven 5.5 hours round trip just to drop the dogs off at Camp, when we are flying out of Lex or going elsewhere. It's worth it every time. We pick up two happy, well fed, well loved dogs every-time. It hurts my feelings sometimes how excited my dogs are when they realize they are getting dropped at Camp Canine. We feed them, bathe them, love them but Camp Canine is still their favorite? Wild. This place is special.

From day one, Hunter made everything look easy. Gracie absolutely loved him, and it showed in how quickly she picked up new skills and behaviors. Hunter was always patient, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. One thing we really appreciated was how well he communicated with us--he gave clear feedback and helpful tips on how we were handling Gracie so we could keep improving her results at home. He was honest without ever being discouraging, and he always set us up for success. The use of the e-collar and leash training was handled thoughtfully and effectively, and the group meetup at Bass Pro with the other dogs in the program was a great bonus. I paid extra money for my dog to have a cot while I was away. Upon my return, I was told by staff that he has a cut above his left eye. When she brought him out she said she had to wipe green mucus from his right eye. I told her it looked infected. I paid and left. On the car ride home my dog smelled like urine. As soon as I got home I called back and asked about the urine odor and double checked that he slept in a cot. I also complained about the infection of his eye. I also noticed my dog was limping. I was reassured the manager would give me a call. That never happened! No one ever called. I decided I would no longer use them for my dog again. I do not feel like my dog was properly taken care of during his stay. Update: Yesterday I received a call from the President of the company. He apologized and offered a free bath for my dog. I accepted his apology and the free bath. The staff were also very apologetic. I appreciate him reaching out and addressing the issues and concerns.
